computers are in the shop because they have a van with the shop name on the side for such occasions. so now I wait and see how much will come back.

Just finished paying $90 to some guy who repaired by daughter's iPhone after she dropped it and broke the screen. And my computer (PC) is starting to give me that occasional "blue screen" for "no reason," which is not of the good.
Just stopped in here because I got to thinking about the board after reading that Nicholas B was arrested for the third time this year for public intoxication. Something is really wrong with that guy; sure hope he finds a way to get it together.
How quiet it is here, now!
Been busy with Roxanne and doing temp respite care - am getting a 2 month old baby for a week on May 30th. Two months old! Doing this baby-care is the best birth control ever for Roxy. She no longer says, "I want a baby, they are so CUTE!!!"

The desktop computer is back :-) The laptop will not be working ever again :-( But the data from the laptop is back :-) I think I lost a lot of Firefox bookmarks and things to do with Firefox. That hasn't been saved. I don't even know which what it was doing, but some websites aren't behaving the same way in the other computer, so they had sign ins or something. Right now the PC is doing the Auto Update thing, as it has been for a couple of hours now. I somehow thought the computer shop would take care of that part for the money, but okays, I just leave it to it. Hope it'll work out okays.

computers are same as they were, still busted, because I haven't been able to get them to the shop or to get an answer from one of the computer places I have previously used. stuff is tricky. Bummer. Hello friends! Sorry I've been off the grid. Another bad cold (2nd this year, I hope that's it for a while). Busy summer ahead. Nuclear family gathering just north of Chicago in June. Only 4 nights but then 2 days driving up and back and the whole getting ready and then unpacking. All kids plus Jim's sister/BIL and nephew from Chicago. Huge house on a small lake almost on the IL/WI border. It's for our 40th wedding anniversay. then in July my 4 siblings, their spouses, children, THEIR spouses and grandkids will all gather at Folly Beach outside of Charleston for a week. Due to work schedules probably arrivals and departures nearly every day but at the height we might approach nearly 40 offspring/in-laws/others related to my parents. Fun, but wild. In future years we might alternate these 2 events. We shall see. Blaine is filming a pilot in August and he and Carolyn are making serious plans to move to LA in January. She will have to arrange that with her PhD advisors at NU, but she will be done with course-work. I think once they get the move done she (and he) both want to think pretty seriously about starting their own family, so that could derail the dissertation work (but who cares). Blessings on Memorial Day. Sue

I've been watching the entirety of Buffy from the Pilot (replaying somewhere ... FX?) a couple episodes a week. It just never gets old.

Texas seems to be mostly underwater - has anyone heard from Diane lately? Diane, I hope you and Bobman are safe and dry.

Diane reported on Facebook that she was not personally affected and is well. Hi ladies! Roxy graduated from Middle School and earned all As and Bs, for the first time ever, in her last quarter. I was very proud of her. She looked beautiful in her graduation dress and has come a long way despite enough challenges to stop a semi-truck. Keep on truckin', Roxy!

A pilot for Blaine? Let us know how this goes.
Starting their own family, huh? Exciting.
I am picking up the 2 month old on Saturday we are keeping him for a week and a day. It should be quite the experience. I haven't taken care of a 2 month old for over 30 years . . . I had that 5 mo old a few months back, but only for one night. Then I had the same baby, again for one night, when he was 7 mos old. Roxy is already claiming she won't touch the diapers. We shall see.

If I follow you correctly (over time) only Roxy is living with you right now? The eldest has (for the moment) headed off on her own and the youngest is with another family? baby, huh? Go you.

That's one less thing to worry about Congratulations to Roxy, and to you! You must be so proud of her! Emily completed her Master's degree in Linguistics this month. She's taking some time off for birding before she starts researching colleges and funding for her PhD. Katherine is just going to enjoy the summer until the fall semester starts at Cal State.
