Source: SpoilerFix.com 11/04 - The survivors are not alone. Sayid is taken captive by a long-time strandee: an armed and cryptic French woman (Mira Furlan), who's alternately violent and sympathetic. The ordeal triggers painful memories for Sayid, who recalls his past as a captive interrogator. Season 1 General Spoilers:
11/09 - Each “Lost” writer had to pull three names out of a hat. [Lost writer Paul] Dini got Locke, Sawyer and Sun and was instructed to write a history for each of the three. Dini says Locke having the same name as the philosopher is not a coincidence. “… the monster is sort of a reflection of yourself. The pilot saw it in horror and he was killed because he feared the monster. Locke saw the monster with true awe, therefore, he was able to survive his encounter,” Dini said. Though we may never see the entire monster, Dini says it may be "a Loch Ness Monster kind of thing.” The characters of Scott and Steve, introduced last week, will soon have speaking parts. At least one main character and several minor ones will die before season’s end. Source: Ain't It Cool News 11/08 - One character was not on that plane and Claire and Charlie are going to disappear, kidnapped, it seems by the character who was not on the plane. Sawyer’s backstory has a twist that just might be as good as Locke’s (and that’s saying something). Also, he and Kate have some heated interaction this week that ends in a kiss (but only because she’s basically forced to), and in a later episode, they stumble upon a waterfall that looks breathtakingly beautiful on the surface … but when they jump in, they find some disturbing plane wreckage, including the key to Kate’s story. Jack is going to get beaten to a bloody pulp. Source: Kristin on E!Online 11/02 - Sun's father is a leader in big business in Korea, owns a large company involved in the auto industry. A little known fact is that the reason jin had the watch (presumably in his luggage) is that he was on a business trip to deliver the watches to his father in law's business cronies in both Australia and the U.S. where he has interests. Whether or not Sun's father is in the Korean mafia is something we will be addressing in future episodes (when you see Jin's side of the story). - From Javier Grillo-Marxuach, writer of episode 6 Source: The Fuselage (Thanks Jenn for the tip.) 10/25 - Not everyone on that island was on the plane.

Posted by kminfinity: Edited to add: This could be a HUGE SPOILER, a tease, a hoax, or who knows what.I tried to search to see if this link has been posted and I didn't get a hit...so I apologize if this has been posted already. www.oceanic-air.com/seatingchart.htmIf you click on the row numbers in 4 8 15 16 23 42 order it takes you to a preview of season 2. It uses images from season 1 but suggests Sawyer survives. If it's not an official Lost site it's superbly done. I do think it is, because some of the supposed travel links actually work but take you to ads and places to register at ABC for a Lost newsletter from the writers of the show. There are Easter Eggs everywhere if you click on the individual seats. I'll leave that for y'all to discover.

From eonline: "Lost" Gets Fresh Blood
by Marcus Errico Jun 6, 2005, 8:05 AM PT
Looks like Jack, Sayid, Kate, et al. are getting some more company on mystery island.
ABC confirmed Monday that Michelle Rodriguez will join Lost's cast of castaways full-time next season. The news was first reported by E! Online TV columnist Kristin Veitch. (This story contains possible spoilers, so consider yourself warned.)
In part one of last season's finale, Rodriguez's character, Ana-Lucia Cortez, was briefly shown in a flashback scene flirting with Matthew Fox's Jack in a Sydney airport bar before the ill-fated Oceanic flight 815 boarded. She and Jack compared seat assignments (Jack was in the middle of the plane, she was in the tail section) before she got a cellphone call and left him hanging.
Although ABC and Lost masterminds J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof won't say exactly in what capacity Rodriguez will be appearing, speculation is already rampant that she will not be relegated merely to flashbacks. Lost message boards are filling up with possible scenarios to explain her character's addition to the cast, with the leading theory being that, as some of the plane-crash survivors surmised during the first season, passengers in the tail section of the airliner landed on an as-yet unexplored nook of the island and will be reunited with the main ensemble in season two.
When last we left the show, which was one of the season's biggest rookie hits, averaging nearly 16 million viewers, Jack, Locke, Kate and Hurley had blasted opened the mysterious hatch and found...a long, dark passageway. Meanwhile, Michael, Walt, Jin and Sawyer's boat ride was interrupted by the less than neighborly "Others," a group of men who intercepted the raft, kidnapped the seemingly clairvoyant Walt, shot Sawyer and blew up the vessel. Michael was left treading water among the wreckage as Jin dove in to try to save Sawyer.
In an interview on Los Angeles' KROQ radio last week, Abrams said the raft crew will eventually make it back to the island, but come ashore away from the rest of their pals, possibly setting up the discovery of Rodriguez's character and perhaps other survivors. Abrams also suggested that one of the stars is unhappy with his current contract and will likely be killed off at the beginning of the second season and won't be featured in any further episodes, even in flashbacks. The producer didn't drop any hints, but, per message board speculation, the leading candidate appears to be Naveen Andrews, who plays Sayid.
Aside from the Rodriguez casting tidbit, the show's brain trust is throwing another bone to loyal fans to keep them occupied over the summer. A new Website has been launched for Lost's fictional Oceanic Airlines at Oceanic-Air.com, containing secret messages, behind-the-scenes info on the show and a trailer for season two. (Hint: Use Hurley's cursed numbers, if you dare.)
Rodriguez, 26, hit Hollywood's radar after her breakout performance in the Sundance hit Girlfight. She has also appeared in The Fast and the Furious, Blue Crush, Resident Evil and S.W.A.T. She recently wrapped the Wes Craven-produced horror flick Breed and a voice role in the Latin-themed animated film Sian Ka'an with Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina.
The first season of Lost will be available on DVD on Sept. 6, ahead of the debut of the second season, which will now air in the 9 p.m. slot on Wednesday.

Maybe not. But that's apparently the scuttlebutt. I had a feeling about Rodriguez returning, if only because it seemed like a waste of time to cast a relatively well-known actress for such a small bit of screen time (and if you haven't yet, I recommend checking out Girlfight]--good flick). But the thought of losing Naveen--well, it saddens me. But who knows--maybe it's not him. And maybe hearing that he/she will be killed off, never to return, will make the actor/actress rethink their position on the whole deal.

Good news--it appears the so-called radio interview never happened, meaning that entire story was bogus. Now, that's not to say someone won't be killed off, just that no one official has said anything about it.

The Los Angeles Times for June 14 had an article about the first ever official Lost convention. Unfortunately, the article included a few spoilers (grrrrr), so I'm posting the link here only. Tidbits included: What's inside the mysterious hatch will be interesting, but not as interesting as the effect it has on the John Locke character, according to Grillo-Marxuach.
• The rear section of the plane — and additional survivors — will be discovered during the second season.
• The people who kidnapped Walt, the young boy, are the "others" on the island.I said the rear section of the plane was on the island!

Interview with the executive producers. Spoilers about Libby and season 3. community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=800001555Why Lost Killed Libby It's confession time again: I've known for weeks that Lost was going to send Libby (Cynthia Watros) off to the big island in the sky at the end of last night's episode, and, just like with Ana Lucia, I kept my big, spoiler-obsessed trap closed. And once again, my restraint has yielded a pretty nifty reward — an exclusive postmortem courtesy of exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse! Ausiello: Why did you kill off Libby? Carlton Cuse: We felt like we had run out of story for her. It happens. While we did develop the romance with her and Hurley, we didn't see enough in the way of avenues for where to go with that character. And we were starting to think about what sort of stories we were going to be telling for the characters in Season 3, and we just didn't have enough for Libby that we were excited about. That was on one side. On the other side, we thought, well, shooting Ana Lucia is going to be dramatic, but what will really make it incredible for the audience is that it'll be completely surprising if we shoot Libby, too. And it would be enhanced by the fact that Ana Lucia is not a particularly sympathetic character. But if we added Michael shooting Libby also, who is a very sympathetic character, that would really ratchet up the emotional stakes of the rest of the season. Damon Lindelof: And all of this was obviously, first and foremost, the idea that Libby's got this mysterious backstory, of which we've only given you the tip of the iceberg. We know she's spent some time in the mental institution with Hurley, and the idea of killing her before she had an opportunity to explain how she got there... we have a master plan for how we're going to tell that story, but it's all posthumous. You'll start to learn Libby's moves through flashbacks over the course of the next season. So we're not done with Cynthia, but Libby is dead. Ausiello: So we'll see Cynthia next season? Damon: You'll see her in the [May 24] finale, in fact. Ausiello: But will we see her next season? Damon: That's our plan. Ausiello: Were you pissed off that news of her CBS pilot leaked? It seemed like a repeat of what went on last summer when the trades speculated that Maggie Grace might do X-Men 3, and then she was killed off a couple of months later. Carlton: We were trying to be helpful to Cynthia as an actress, because she is a wonderful person and we wanted her to have a chance at a job on another show. And an unfortunate side effect of that was that people [interpreted that as], "Well, obviously that means something is up about her time on Lost." It's unfortunate, but I guess at the end of the day, hopefully it didn't get too spoiled in the press, and, more importantly, we gave the actress a fighting chance to get a role on a show for next year. It was important to us that, if we were going to kill her off, we also try to support her, just as her friends and [out of respect] for her desire to get another job. Damon: It's the price you pay as a producer 'cause you have a choice, and the choice is, essentially, you can force an actor to sit out an entire season... Carlton: ... by exercising our exclusivity. Damon: Yeah, by saying, "You're not allowed to go out for other stuff until we formally tell you that we're not picking you up," or you can be a human being about it. And although we anticipated the possibility of this getting out, it seemed like a no-brainer. At the end of the day, a story running in The Hollywood Reporter is one thing, but once they start talking about it on Entertainment Tonight and in TV Guide, which have much [broader audiences], then it's officially spoiled. Like, if my mom calls me and says, "I heard Cynthia is leaving the show," then I know that it's been spoiled. You have a readership that reads Ask Ausiello on the Web that is vastly different — those are people who are seeking spoilers. As opposed to someone who picks up USA Today and reads, "Cynthia Watros got a CBS pilot! What does that mean for Lost?" Then it's like, now suddenly 10 million people know. Ausiello: How did Cynthia take the news? Carlton: She was sad. I think it's really hard. When we make those calls they're incredibly hard calls to make. I think, obviously, people like working on the show. It's not a bad job to be living in Hawaii and working on a successful television series. Truthfully, she did take it kind of hard, which motivated us to help her get another job. Damon: And also, it happened at a time when we were really writing to her. She was stepping up her game. We had just put the script out for "Dave," in which she was heavily featured and that relationship with Hurley was starting to develop, and in response to the awesome work she was doing, that sort of made us feel even more emboldened to go ahead and execute the double murder because we thought her death would really resonate with the audience.

From the post-finale podcast: Synopsis/Transcript snurched from LJ User koalafrog: community.livejournal.com/lost_tv/1355531.html?style=mine#cutid1From the post-finale podcast: - We will find out about the ramifications of Desmond's turning the failsafe key, and one of the "central issues" of Season 3 will deal with what exactly happened when this event occurred, and how it affected the entire island. (Note that the producers mentioned they definitely want Desmond to come back in the third season, and want to find out why he was in prison, but didn't state explicitly that he will be back.) - The foot statue represents archeology and the "digging up" of clues in the show, and on the island. They hope to explore who was on the island before Dharma showed up in the 70's, and what happened to bring Dharma there in the first place. - The monster will be back for Season 3. They also mentioned that there is a good chance viewers saw the monster at some point this year, but didn't realize we were looking at it. By the end of Season 3, we will have figured this point out. - The beginning of Season 3 will deal with why the Others wanted Jack, Kate and Sawyer, specifically. The relationships between these characters will hopefully be more fully explored, as they want to "service the relationships" more than the mythologies next season. - WE WILL FIND OUT HOW LOCKE GOT IN THE WHEELCHAIR! - WE'LL FIND OUT ABOUT JACK'S TATTOOS! - Other: Season 3 will premiere in late September and run 6 episodes with a mini-cliffhanger, take a 12 week break, then return in February for 17 straight weeks. They said they hate the repeats, too. Damon and Carlton (along with a few cast members) will be at San Diego ComiCon in July, with an announcement about the Hanso Foundation. (This will presumably be most revealing to those following the Lost Experience online.) There will be another podcast in 2 weeks with an interview with Harold and Malcolm, and then another in July for ComiCon. From SpoilerFix (specific sources noted): - I just received some exclusive intel on the new characters joining Lost. In addition to the two female roles, the show is also adding a new hunk. Descriptions are: Female, 30s, with leadership qualities. Female, early 20s, very attractive. Male, Latino, early 20s, handsome, mysterious quality. My guess? These are some of the "background" survivors that Carlton Cuse told me would emerge next season. (Aussielo Report) - Next season will be about the Others, as led by the oblique Henry Gale (played by Michael Emerson, who will join the regular cast). Mr. Cuse listed what viewers will learn about the Others by this time next year: "Who are these people? How many of them are there? What is their history? What are they trying to accomplish?" (New York Times) - Producers of ABC's hit series Lost [...] told SCI FI Wire that it sets up the upcoming third season, which will focus more on romance—and on the mysterious Others. "The Others are an important part of season three, and there's a lot of mysteries and a lot of questions about the Others that the audience is going to be curious about going into season three," said executive producer Carlton Cuse in an interview. "And those are the things we're going to explore." Cuse added: "There will definitely be some new characters on the show next year. ... Obviously, Michael Emerson, who plays Henry Gale, he's someone who's going to be very prominent in the show next year." Fans were also introduced to a new character who promises to figure in next season's storylines: Penelope Widmore, played by Sonya Walger. [...] "I'm excited about love in season three," said executive producer Bryan Burk, adding: "Don't forget now the people have been on the island for 60-plus days. They're now obviously more familiar with each other. ... The concept of love is there, and... it weaves its way through all of our characters. It's going to be much more prevalent in season three." (Sci-Fi Wire) From the Star Bulletin: - The show is committed to Oahu for at least another year. - New sets, including a renovation of an water tank for underwater scenes for Season 3. And, since Season 3 seems to be focusing on the Others, here's a quote from an interview in TV Guide with Michael Emerson (Fenry), where he's just about as elusive with answering questions as the producers are: Q: Is Henry Gale bad or just misunderstood? A: He's not a villain with a capital V. Everyone who does evil things doesn't believe they are villains. Even the most heinous people don't think they're heinous. Maybe that describes Henry. But we have nothing to pin on him. He's been the victim of beatings, hung in a tree, shot with an arrow. How can he be a villain when he's getting beaten up? I think he scares people because of his unblinking and unthinking gaze. People find something superhuman about the way Henry looks at the world. There's something about his eyes. He's saying one thing but it seems there's an agenda he's working on that we don't know. Think of him as a warrior in an unknown war. He behaves like a commando of sorts, on a mission behind enemy lines. And he's not telling us what that mission is.

Spoilers for season 3 from US Weekly community.livejournal.com/_we_are_lost/963316.htmlLOST CLUES FOR NEXT SEASON Can't wait until next fall? Insiders fill Us in on the finale's hints ATTENTION LOST FANS: DO NOT DELETE THE May 24 finale from TiVo! It contains tip-offs about season three, which "is going to be pretty dramatic." creator JJ Abrams tells Us. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse share the evidence with Us. Did Desmond die? The castaway (Henry Ian Cusick) seemingly maryred himself in the hatch, but "it would be a real shame for him to be dead," says Lindelof. In fact, the 30-second sequence in which he hit the fail safe button "sets up everything to follow in season three" says Cuse. Where are the Desmond seekers really? The Portuguese-speaking men tracking Desmond appeared to be in a blizzard, but "Portuguese is only spoken in Brazil and Portugal," hints Cuse. Are The Others the good guys? "Who has killed more people since they went on the island, our guys or The Others?" asks Lindelof. Did the explosion affect Charlie? The ex-heroin addict (Dominic Monaghan) is unfazed by the hatch explosion, but "comes back changed," says Cuse. Sidebars from the article: ~Henry Gale impersonator (Michael Emerson), and The Others will be explored. "We deal with who these people are," says Lindelof. ~Even with Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly), and Sawyer (Josh Holloway) in the clutches of The Others, "we're going to explore romantic relationships," says Cuse. -Mara Reinstein

About Michael's character: seattlepi.nwsource.com/tv/272592_tf203.html'Lost' character sailed into the sunset, possibly forever Actor Harold Perrineau tells Scripps Howard News Service he won't be back on ABC's "Lost" when it returns in the fall. "As of so far, I am not back next season," says the actor whose character, Michael, sailed off with his son, Walt, in the season finale May 24. Perrineau, who was central to the "Lost" story line in recent weeks, says he is free to pursue other work and is no longer under contract with "Lost." He says producers told him weeks ago he was being written off the show, but he also knew of a story line in which Michael, once he got home, attempts to get back to the island. Apparently that story line is not planned for next season, he says. "I have no idea what is going on now," he says. Join the club, Harold. www.thenewstribune.com/24hour/entertainment/story/3301169p-12163997c.html'Lost' will go on without murderous Michael By TERRY MORROW, Scripps Howard News Service Friday, June 2nd, 2006 09:32 AM (PDT) (SH) - Actor Harold Perrineau says he won't be back on "Lost" when it returns in the fall. "As of so far, I am not back next season," says the actor whose character, Michael, sailed off with his son, Walt, during the ABC show's May 24 finale. "I am not off the show, but I am not back next season ... and I may not ever be back." Perrineau, who has been central to the "Lost" storyline in recent weeks, says he is free to pursue other work. He is no longer under contract with "Lost." He says producers told him weeks ago that he was being written off the show. However, he also knew of a storyline idea in which Michael, once he got home, attempts to get back to the island. Apparently that storyline is not planned for next season, he says. "I have no idea what is going on now," he says. The actor, whose credits include the HBO series "Oz" and the "Matrix" film series, says he and his family have left Hawaii, where "Lost" is shot. He is now in New York City and mulling offers. In the season finale, Michael and Walt were reunited before leaving the island on a boat. In recent episodes, Michael shocked viewers by murdering two newcomers, Ana Lucia and Libby (Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros), and leading others into a trap. When Michael departed the island, he left behind three of the show's most popular characters - Jack, Kate and Sawyer - who were being held captive by a mysterious group living on the other side of the island called The Others. It was not clear whether Michael and Walt were actually going to leave the island and go home (as The Others had instructed them to do) or if they'd go back to their camp to get help. "I watched the show, and even I was confused," says Perrineau. "Sometimes what we get in the script is not what we see on the screen."

community.livejournal.com/lost_geek/211189.htmlFrom qualie: Any more Lost scoop? There's some good stuff in this week's Lost podcast. In case you missed it, we learned: We can't say for sure that Desmond survived the season finale, but we'll definitely be seeing him again (Let's hope Locke and Eko are just as lucky!). Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said when the show comes back in September, we'll understand the consequences of Desmond triggering the hatch's fail-safe and what that means in terms of the island. Apparently, the island was only visible to the outside world for a spilt second, but it was also visible on September 22, 2004 when Flight 815 crashed, so we'll find out how that affects the storyline. It sounds like we'll be getting more Desmond flashbacks and we'll find out why the Others wanted Jack, Kate and Sawyer, but not Hurley. In the first six episodes we'll learn where and what the Others call home, how Jack got his tattoos, why Locke was in the wheelchair and more about the main characters and their relationships. Apparently, relationships will be more important than mythology in season three, although they also revealed that the four-toed statue represents the history and archeology of the island and that we'll find out what happened on the island pre-Dharma days. Apparently, there were other Others around before the 1970s. Oh, and one more thing: We will see the smoke monster again, and I'm not sure what this means, but they said there may have been instances where we saw the smoke monster in season two, but didn't realize that's what it was. From acerp: I almost had a heart attack when I read that a Swedish girl named Malin will be on Lost--for a second I thought it was Malin, the blond singer of Ace of Base! Anyway do you know who she will play? All that she wants is another baby, my friend. For those of you who don't know, Malin Akerman was Juna Miliken from last Summer's The Comeback, and she's also starring opposite Will Arnett in a new flick. She could be the new It girl. Anyway, after I told you last week (you saw E! News, right?) that she is in talks to play a new "attractive woman in her 20's" on Lost next season for at least eight episodes, I ran into her at the Entourage premiere! Such luck. And I'm convinced she is going to be the chick that Eric and Sloan have a threesome with this season. I'll bet my TiVo on it. She wouldn't confirm it, but at the premiere she did say "I'm not allowed to give out too much information, but I can say that I definitely will come on and cause a little bit of s--t for two episodes, six and seven." I'm sure you remember that Kevin Connelly told us on a set visit a few months ago that the threesome happens in episode six, so...we'll see. From frind: But what did Malin say about Lost? Oh yeah, that other little show. Tee hee. Here's that Q&A with the (non-Ace of Base) Malin: K.V.: I heard you might be a new character on Lost. M.A.: I have heard that rumor as well, and we're still not sure what's happening. There's nothing set in stone yet. We'll just have to wait and see. K.V.: Have you had auditions for Lost and that's what's going on? M.A.: No. No auditions. They've just seen some of my stuff on The Comeback and you know, whatever they've seen, I guess they liked! From Little_Rock: Could you please tell me if Desmond will be on Lost next year? I'm hearing...yes! Is it hot in here? From adams: Hurley wasn't necessarily as vicious toward Michael as he could've been when he found out that Michael was the one that killed Libby. Did you think that came from a place of strength? Or weakness? I asked Jorge Garcia that when I ran into him last week (it's in the column, in case you missed it--scroll down!) and he answered: "I think he's still basically in mourning. I think it was just kind of sinking in, everything that had happened in just a very short amount of time."

Lost Season 3 Scoops From Comic-Con!Source: Scott Chitwood July 22, 2006 "Lost" co-creator/executive producer Damon Lindelof, executive producers Bryan Burk and Carlton Cuse, and stars Jorge Garcia (Hugo) and Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) attended the San Diego Comic-Con today and talked about the upcoming season three starting on October 4. The presentation was briefly interrupted by a planned protestor, a Rachel Blake, who yelled at them for supporting the Hanso Foundation and told people to go to HansoExposed.com. Here are the highlights of what they said! - Season three will have a vastly different feeling, but at the same time reembrace the roots of the series. - Season three will focus more on adventure. - The first six episodes in the fall will be like a mini-series and focuses on the captivity story of Jack, Kate and Sawyer. - We'll learn more about The Others and Alex's story. - An event will happen mid-season that will blow people away! - J.J. Abrams will co-write the first episode which is titled "The Tale of Two Cities." He'll also direct the seventh episode, which is the first episode of the second half of the third season (early next year). - They are going to reveal what happened to Locke, Desmond and Echo. - They are adding new regular characters, which they are casting for now. - You'll see more scenes from the outside world (taking place at the same time they are on the island). - Desmond and Penny's relationship forms a new seed for a new element in the series. - Libby will be back to fill in the gaps. - Within the first few episodes Kate "gets with someone". - They are going to explain the medical miracles. - They debunked the rumor that the monster is a cloud nanobot. - The hyroglypics on the countdown clock are signs of the underworld. - They have 4 to 5 seasons planned out, and they knew the beginning and ending from the start. Going beyond 5 seasons would be stretching it, they said. - If they introduce a question on the show, they already know the answer. - They do look at fans' reactions and that does affect how they do things on the show. - They showed a promo for the 13 "Lost" diaries that will be on Verizon, which featured Hugo finding a camera and interviewing people on the island. - A "Lost" game from Ubisoft is coming next year which features a new story. - On the season two DVD, you can expect one feature which has all of Sawyer's famous lines!
