Dude!! Will none of these people learn from past mistakes?! Just croak him! Anytime you have him truly knocked out, just take him out, no muss no fuss! Well, I disagree here. Mohinder was injured, and he thought Peter was dead. If Mohinder failed to kill Sylar before Sylar awoke, due to him recently having been hung from a ceiling and dripping blood, Mohinder would be dead and Sylar would eat Peter's brain and become even more insanely powerful. I think Mohinder made the right move; he knew his physical limitations and the danger of Sylar getting ahold of Peter's powers. Actually, be-heading someone isn't all that time consuming. One good swipe with a decent fire axe and you're golden. Or crimson, as the case may be. Speaking theoretically, of course. I have no practical knowledge. What are y'all all staring at? Move it along...nothing to see here.

Great episode. One scene I really enjoyed was the coffee shop scene where HRG and Matt and radioactive guy discussed stuff. Is there any chance HRG is playing them? We don't really know how much the Haitian has wiped, do we? What if he's regressed to the point he's a bad guy player again? (I'm very very tired, so maybe there's a flaw in my thinking and there's something that makes it clear where HRG stands "now.") Interesting thoughts! I've been thinking he still has his own agenda (protecting Claire and his wife, saving his own life, fixing the things he thinks should be fixed, and perhaps getting a bit of revenge), but I hadn't really thought about what else the memory wipe might mean . . . Hmmmm. Loved loved loved the spoiler bit. ;D ;D ;D

Teaser
Love the Malcolm McDowell voice over.
Nikki's willing to fracture her own soul to protect her child. Really? Is that what's she's doing?
Alone, each tells a single story; together they can tell the future. Cool!
Oh, Claire --> Shapeshifter. That's cruel.
Candice.
Waiting for the order. So who's above Eric Roberts? Linderman?
Corinthian Hotel.
You must bring all your first dates here. BWAH!
So Linderman's a healer.

Part I
Matt can hear thoughts, but he can't send thoughts to others.
We all have our role in the events to come.
Artists envisioned a brighter future? Really?
What if I was to tell you that it was? So, destruction of NYC may actually be a good thing, like I thought.
So Linderman's had his power for a while. So this superpower thing has been going on for a while.
Healing one person at a time is just not enough. Need something big.
People need hope, Nathan.
.07% An acceptable loss?
Tragedy as a catalyst for good, for change. I've heard that one before. Course, it's true, but doesn't make it right to be the instigator.
Exploding man *is* Peter. Unless he's not.
This scene again.
Peter superheals. So that would have happened to Claire, too, right? So she was never in any danger.
Cool with the shards of glass. Is the shard of glass how Peter got his scar?

Part II
Nathan's folly in Texas.
Daddy Petrelli knew about Claire as well.
Grow up and develop into some one who can make their own choices. And the bitch of it is, you can't make your own choices while your doing so.
Sylar's foiled again! But he knows about Isaac.
I'm been dying to find out what happens to Hiro! Promise you won't post any spoilers. Hee. Meta.
You didn't turn into Jessica, you turned into your old man. Ouch.
Is Peter really dead? For real?

Part III
Micah's involved whether DL or Jessica/Nikki want him to be or not.
Insurance policy. I hate to think what that means.
Don't burn hot, burn bright.
What do we do? We hide it.
Yep, the piece of glass. And no one else thought of that?

Part IV
What do you do with something that killed you? You can put it underneath your pillow. Hee.
I don't know who I am. Interesting that Nathan would say that.
Most of what we are is what people expect us to be.
Nice Nathan/Peter conversation.
Maybe she's here to save us. Parents are saved by their children?
You're middle management! Hee.
So Linderman is the bossman.
Shapeshifter again. Jeez.
Oh, no. Eric Roberts and Mohinder.
And here's Isaac's death.
Fight the Future! [/X-Files]
Ooh. Sylar's got The Voice. [/Dune]
I finally get to be a Hero.
And there it is.

Coda
Nathan acknowledges Claire.
Got into politics for a chance to something good, be something big. I need to win.
Aww... this Claire/Nathan scene is so sweet.
Just for a week. I'm thinking that's not really the plan.
What is Sylar painting?
5 years in the future.
I don't like the future.
I keep forgetting that Hiro's not come into contact with Sylar at all. He's calling him "BrainMan"
I'm confused. Hee.
A timeline. So Linderman's right.
FutureHiro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I saw the episode, I thought that .07% was referring to the percentage of superheroes in the world. That it corresponded to the population of NYC never occurred to me.
I definitely think that Mamma Bennett has a superpower, especially since it seems to be inherited.

Teaser Love the Malcolm McDowell voice over. Me too! Shapeshifter woman really enjoys being mean. It's not just a job to her, she likes it. Such a good line. I love when Nathan gets all snarky.

It will be very interesting to see FutureHiro show Hiro the icky future in an effort to avoid it. Classic SF storyline, with FutureHiro sacrificing himself (in that he won't exist as he does now if the future is changed) to make things better.

Great review, Sara! I have not read The Watchmen, but the parallels you brought up to the Linderman storyline sound beyond coincidental. Good catch! And the Dr. Manhattan/watch repairman thing is almost spooky. Also ties in nicely with the show's use of flashbacks and flashforwards, and Hiro's ability to move through time. I had to laugh when I read this: I'm going to let myself believe that as well!
