why did sylar suddenly decide to kill a whole bunch of, as he would put it, ordinary people? i don't really get it. (also, apparently in the heroes' new york city, legs don't atrophy from disuse...) I think killing his mom warped Sylar's brain just a bit more than it already was.

I think losing his mother snapped whatever tenuous hold he had on his conscience in that regard. Heck, maybe the only reason he felt he couldn't do it was because he'd risk killing his mother; with her already dead, he doesn't have anything left to lose.

She creates a fake mom for Micah. How does he know that's not what you really look like? 'Cuz I'll bet you never let anyone see what you really look like. Aha!! Rigging the election! Who was the person who guessed that? Nice job! "How many votes does your boss want him to win by?" Pragmatic as always. Followed by "can I go home now". (Oh, and they're all networked? Um. I don't think so.) DL and Jessica confront Nathan. "He took our son." "We both know you hate Linderman as much as we do. . . . Let us finish the job." "Whatever you get from him he's gonna take back 10 times more." Very very true. Nathan so . . . sheepish and sly and worried and devious looking. "If I tell you where Linderman is, I have to know he's not going to come after us." Oh, yeah, have them kill him now. Now that you know you've already won. Lot's of guts there. "The man took my son. He's gonna pay for that in full." You go, DL! Hiro's fave story? Eeeeep! "I have to be strong enough to cut out my own heart." Heeee. HRG goes all threatening guy again. "A simple no would have done the trick." ;D Heeeeee! Remember, dude, you were all worried about the porn! Oh, yeah, yeah, go right in, hurry up, stop talking about porn! ;D Oh wow! Another set of folks get together. HRG and Matt and DL and Jessica. Damn! That's a team! "Didn't I throw you out a window?"

I don't like Hiro's favorite childhood story. It doesn't bode well, does it?

There's the red staircase art piece again, just a shot from above. Yep. Significant! Heee! HRG and Matt and DL and Jessica, all riding along to the muzak. ;D Molly is getting better . . . she's looking for her "other hero" - Matt! Who saved her from the boogie man. "We can stop the boogie man, where is he?" Paper company guys says "later". Hmmmmm. Not much later left. Interesting how the two regular non-powered guys are the ones duking it out. With guns, of course. Damn! Just took him out! Like someone should do with Sylar. "How'd you know he was gonna come up on me?" "We were old friends." ;D HRG knew it was a person, but not a little girl. So, now he thinks it's either kill this little girl or his little girl dies. Um. But there is a way way bigger danger and this little girl can find it! Sylar make van go boom. Then makes Ted go boom. And now he can go boom. First fatality of the finale (Ted). Wonder how many others will go? Ooooh, sexy bloody Peter doing the promo!

Ando's gone to fight Sylar himself? Why didn't you tell him what you were doing, you dope! Your story said you had to cut out your own heart, well, who is your heart, eh? Ando! Peter and Claire know that Sylar got Ted. Damn. I can actually see one future in which Linderman's idea of NY going boom is "good". If Sylar really is the one to do it, and he doesn't have Claire's power so he actually dies. Only . . . only maybe they are able to contain the explosion of him, so just he blows up and not NY! That could work! "Last time I fought Sylar, he killed me." Bill. Jessica. Where's Micah? (smash o crash) She asked you a question. Well, that was a very straight to the point conversation. ;D Linderman tempting Jessica with money. All she wants is security (which is true . . . ) 20 million to kill your husband and walk away. Damn. Yeah, Jessica would do that. Oh! But Nikki wouldn't . . . Woah! Shot! Head thru skull! Jessica sacrificing herself! Damn! "You and me getting together. That was real. Jessica wasn't the strong one. That was you." Also true. Man. Is DL gonna be the second one dead from the finale? Or will he make it? I can see the ghostly edges of how the 5 years ahead future came to be . . . it's right there in front of us. Nathan's speech, intercut with images of the heroes. So, each line has meaning to their story, yes? Like his brother Peter cares about the city more than anyone. And images of Hiro and Ando when he talks about having a responsibility to help people, to make a real difference. The world is spinning out of control is matched with the hurt and dying people, with Sylar. Let's put our differences aside, matched with the HRG and Suresh stand off, and the line "do it for the children" matched with the shot of Molly. And then Sylar says boom. Well, we've got a hell of a show next week, I'm thinkin'.

Wow! What a great episode. I really hope they don't kill off Ando! Sooooo worried about Ando!! Oh, that's right - Linderman is dead! And so is Mr. Roberts! So, 3 dead so far in the finale. (I guess I had only been thinking of the "powers" people . . . ) But it will be so fun to spend the summer guessing what adventures they'll have next.

I have no insights. Squees and gasps, but no insights.
Linderman is a healer. Was. Interesting.
I'm really curious as to how the way things are unfolding differs from Future!Hiro's - what will or will not turn the tide, so to speak?
Well, we've all been warned about paperless voting. I knew those machines were supposed to be hackable, but that's really scary.
I loved the grin on Hiro's face when he realized that his dad knows how to fight, and is going to teach him. Yes, Sulu with a sword=squee. Pure joy - Hiro does love as well as respect his dad, and it took a lot of courage for him to speak up like he did. I also loved that an important scene with major plot elements was done entirely in Japanese with subtitles - it shows how much they trust the viewers.
Somebody should tell Sylar that the fire hands thing, while it may look good on Peter Petrelli, is not a look for everyone. And we're back to stopping an exploding man again.
I'm very very concerned about Ando.
Can't wait for next week.
