Like you really need me to come up with an enticing teaser for this episode...

No, but it would be nice. Dude. At the time I started this thread I'd been awake for less than two hours; I'm lucky I spelled all the words I used correctly. But just for you, here's a few options for your teaser text: 1. Answer: dump a truckload of water on him. 2. Tonight it looks like we'll find out whether Peter or Sylar is king of the hill, top of the heap in Old New York... 3. Get your death-count tickers handy and have the Kleenex nearby, as Heroes concludes its first season this evening with what promises to be one helluva finale. 4. Sylar bad, Peter pretty.

I had a thought (and if this is the wrong place for pre-show speculation, feel free to move it) - what if Hiro and Peter have to collaborate to stop Sylar? Peter picked up Hiro's time-stopping ability, so he's immune to it now. What if Hiro freezes everybody but Peter, and then Peter takes Sylar out? It could work.

Peter picked up Hiro's time-stopping ability, so he's immune to it now. What if Hiro freezes everybody but Peter, and then Peter takes Sylar out? It could work. Nah, I think it's a fine place for pre-show speculation. In fact, I think I'll add a "what if" scenario of my own... As far as we can tell, Sylar's intrinsic ability (ie the one he's had from birth, not theft) is that he can see how things work, what makes them tick. Moreover, he can somehow rewrite his DNA to match that of the people's he come across; ie he consciously makes his DNA do the same thing Peter's does automatically (although unlike Peter it appears his DNA holds all of the changes at the same time, allowing him to use more than one ability at once, rather than switching from power to power like Peter). And while Sylar obtains people's abilities by killing them and doing something with their gray matter, whether or not Sylar actually needs to physically see and (ick) absorb this gift from someone's brain is, of course, unknown—he might simply believe this is the case because his ability first kicked in when he got a peek inside that telekinetic's skull. So, the thing I'm thinking is that Peter not only absorbed the powers Sylar stole, but Sylar's native gift as well. And if Sylar's gift doesn't literally require seeing inside someone's head, then maybe Peter can fix Sylar's broken brain. Or, at the very least, undo all the rewiring Sylar's subjected his neurons to and thus take away all his stolen powers. Who knows—he might even be able to alter whatever caused Gabriel Grey to become a sociopath to start with, turning him into the Heroes version of Angel and setting Sylar on the path of redempton.

I actually liked the voice-over at the start this time.
We get to see the initial resolution of our cliffhangers.
Nikki and D.L. are still alive (so far) and . . . managed to escape (sort of?).
Matt is the one who saves Molly. By being knocked down and recognized as the man who said he'd always keep her safe.
Hiro defies his father's initial wishes to try to save Ando. And dad surprises us by being . . . accepting of his decision.
And Sylar is painting with his mind and preparing to take out Peter. (I wonder if the painter chooses the image or if the image chooses to be painted?)

Whoa. That's some theory, Sara. I think Sylar is too far gone to be helped, tho.
And Anne, I think you're right that the key will be for all our heroes to work together to defeat Sylar and also Nathan and his momma's awful plan to save the world.

ohh, that is interesting, I think Molly just gave us a hint about who one of next years villians might be. Worse than Syler. Very Interesting.

Nathan hearing from his mom about the Linderman's death - the "terrible thing" - from his mom? Sad. Because he plays his part. And goes along. And says nothing about helping to make that death happen because he wanted him dead but is still apparently willing to profit from the plan. The world is gonna "need" him, so "this changes nothing". Nikki is the strong one. Emotionally, I think DL is right - but will she actually need Jessica's physical strength? Also - leaving the guy in a hallway? Not the most stealthy. Heee! Am I twisted because I found Mohinder and HRG's little discussion particularly amusing because they were efficiently hiding the body while they had it? ;D "I don't think you understand the true nature of this organization." "I'm responsible for her life." She's sick again, and now that HRG knows that Sylar needs to be found and stopped, suddenly it's a good thing to want to "fix" the "tracking system". Oh, Peter. Heading right for Nathan. "Nathan has never let me down." "We need him because I'm afraid and I need my brother to help me." Except now you can read your brother's mind and what you find there might not be so much what you saw in him. Did Claire run or did momma P get her? Peter! You need to learn to control things! HRG is right about you absorbing his powers too - use that!

Will Nathan Petrelli please grow a spine?!!!!!

I think the images come to them because Isaac painted people he didn't know, but I suppose it's possible to manipulate the power to the other way around when you learn how to control it.
