now, what would be REALLY cool, and hard to explain, would be if she got back to her room and found another Claire in there, having grown out of her toe. Hee! That would be awesome! I'm just hoping that Mr. Muggles doesn't think that it's a snausage. Snausage toe? And, Matthew, good one! ;D Funny but a very logical question. If you cut an earthworm in half, do you get 2 wiggling worms? Can our special heroes reproduce that way? leftylady

Thanks for the great thought provoking review, Erin.
Indeed our heroes' identities have gone for a spin on the wheel of life. New circumstances to deal with, to adapt to. New turns to find identity and meaning. I love it.
I am eager to see what our remaining heroes have done in the intervening 4 months. I'm not unhappy that they left DL,N/J and Micah out of the initial resetting. They weren't my favorite characters of season 1, and, with so much story re-setting to do, I'm glad they didn't try to cram too much in at the new season's start. I like that they are taking the time to introduce the new characters/heroes. At least Heroes is avoiding Lost's "who are you again" mistake.
I also don't mind them answering questions with more questions. Sort of taking from point A to point B to point C. As long as it progresses without a "huh?" factor, I'd rather they don't just jump to an end point and then leave it there doing nothing.

Anne, many many cats have been fooled by that

Part I Newts and lizards can regenerate limbs. Hence the episode title. And connection with Claire. The virus is spreading, but at an incredibly slow rate. Unless there are more victims who haven't been discovered yet. Oooh, more shirtless Peter. So Peter can control electricity. And he's got healing powers. So even though he doesn't know who he is, he's still got the implicit memory of being able to call on various superpowers at will. Or just the ingrained reflex that emerged when he was driven to action? leftylady

I was commenting on the kind of amnesia he had. He's lost all his explicit memories, but still has his implicit ones. It would be like being able play the piano (implicit) but not being able to remember learning how.

Erin! I empathize with the struggle to write a review of an early season ep (not a lot of season arc yet, lots of introduction and exposition, getting things started, etc.) while applauding the job you did.
Primarily, I liked your comparison of Peter and Claire and the way their journeys or searches have flipped. Not only does this really make sense, it also fits in nicely with what Sara was talking about last week – how the creators are saying that the way to keep things energized in a second season is to switch gears with characters and storylines.
I too have the same worries or doubts about Mohinder’s long game with the company. Why didn’t they warn Mohinder about the Haitian? Did they want him to get wiped? Or did they believe that his powers had vanished, like someone who we saw in this week’s ep? Or are they playing their own long game, knowing all about Mohinder and Mr. BB’s plot and making their own plans accordingly?
P.S. Union scale for the beard? Heeeeeee!! Scary beards with a life of their own are taking over!

If the title is Lizards, does that mean that MohinderLizard is going to make an appearance? Teaser Ooh, it's Reed from Enterprise! In high school, you lay low and you get noticed more than anyone. Mama Bennetts nice and proactive in this scene, admonishing Claire and Daddy Bennett. Matt investigating Daddy Nakamura's murder. Either the murderer walked away from the fall, or he flew away. Hmm. I'll bet that Hiro put the symbol on the sword and that started it all. Bringing things full circle, as it were. Even if Hiro didn't put it on the sword, I want to know where it originates. Because now we've seen it show up on Peter briefly as his tattoo erases itself (the healing power, I assume). So, does that mean it's not just an abstract symbol, but one that is created physically by the people who have powers? Or did something happen to Peter that implanted it in/on him? Yes!!! Heee!

Fantastic work, Erin. I am amazed (not surprised) at how fast you and Sara can get reviews out, and very appreciative - it makes the next episode more interesting, with the reminder of what went before. "McClichés", hee. The beard. Yes, it deserves a credit of its own. Beard of Doom played by Deceased Ex-Weasel, perhaps? I like the way you've drawn parallels between Peter's and Claire's stories, and the whole theme of identity so far this season. It makes sense to me, and I'll be watching for more. I just had an odd thought - Noah's built his own little ark to protect his family from the Company flood, hasn't he? Well, it's an awesome odd thought; I like it a lot. And wish I'd thought of it. Eetah!!

The Ultimate Face-Off The battle of the beards -- ''Lost'''s Matthew Fox and ''Heroes'' Adrian Pasdar battle for the best scruff By Jeff Jensen
What's the hot new look in 2007 for the depressed catastrophe-survivor-about-town? The mangy beard. Following Jack Bauer's bushy (and quickly shorn) lead on 24, Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) sported a gone-to-pot Paul Bunyan in May's Lost season finale , and now so does Heroes' brother-grieving, ditched husband Nathan Patrelli (Adrian Pasdar). Cheek to cheek, Nathan's unkempt Beard of Woe seems the real deal, as opposed to Jack's pelt-and-spirit-gum drama-club assemblage, and scores points for sexiness: Judging from the disfigured reflection Nathan caught in the mirror, his chin rug may be hiding something, and the ladies love mystery…hairy, hairy mystery. While Jack's flash-forward scruff has a Jesus-ness that befits his savior complex, such biblical haggardness clearly ain't suave enough to seal the deal on a late-night airport booty call with Kate. Petrelli wins this chin-up contest by a very long hair. And there was scruffiness and a beard on NUMB3RS as well! We've got a theme, people
