So. My guess is that Monica's ability is essentially photographic muscle memory: she sees someone do something, even if it's just once, and she's able to do it herself perfectly. Matrix memory.

sylar's subtext: "well, this is a coincidence, i killed this man." good evening everybody. Hee! Sylar creeps me out so bad!! Seriously. Even now, when he's just your basic psycho serial killer and not a brain eating superpowered mutant psycho serial killer.

Nathan talking to his "dead" brother again, and seeing his own burned visage, the "inner monster"? What he sees himself as? And punching the mirror too, which is just such a Niki kind of thing to do. Interesting that those two were involved back in the day.

another example: no matter how much they promise each other honesty, in the end the bennet family defaults back to lying to each other. Very good points!!

"Plausible lie is one that makes you look bad" good call, West, even if I don't like you. I guess Daddy Bennett doesn't know Claire's "Tells" yet. "Well, it doesn't mean all that much to me, but it's a great cover" "Don't date" yeah, right. Jean Deaux! My holy god, the slash just spills all over the screen in torrents between those two!!!!! It's like they're trying to push the subtext to text, isn't it? ;D Really! I mean, why make her go that far after him? Why not let her give them the building, couldn't they have taken it from there? Kidnapped in her own little head. How very scary.

Before I go back and read - West is not what he seems.
He approached Claire and tried to make friends with her as soon as she started high school, he's been staking out her house and spying on her, and now he's encouraging her to lie to her dad, he "casually" dropped the bomb about the man with the horn-rimmed glasses - I think he's a Company mole, or working for the bad guys, or something like that.
Besides, could he look any more cliché young Clark Kent? There's more here than meets the eye.
The 3Ms - I could hear the squees of little slash-fic writers everywhere...
The writers have a problem - last year, there was someone picking off heroes, they saved the world, or at least New York; where do we go from here?

Wow. Christine Rose did an awesome job during Angela's conversation with Nathan. Yes, she did. And wasn't it nice to see Nathan without the muskrat living on his face again? Lots of hotness - Nathan, Sylar, Matt and Mohinder - the cutest couple ever.

So far, I'd say Erin is getting a waaaaaaaaaay better episode to write about. No fair. Yes, this was far, far better than what we've had before.

I'm hoping West turns out to be a baddie because if not? He's boring and there is absolutely no chemistry between him and Claire.

Much better episode this week. The good:
Sylar is back to his killing ways. No brain eating yet but give the boy time. And he was hot. And there was a cockroach.
Matt and Mohinder - cutest couple ever.
Matt's Dad is the Big Bad! Did not see that one coming.
Monica is cool. First new hero with a fun power. Sassy, good line readings - I like her. Now could Sylar kill the Snoretwins quickly?
No boring Ireland story arc this week.
The bad:
West. Gah. What were they thinking when they cast this kid? Boring, snoring, no chemistry, no personality bad. The only redeeming factor is a spec I read that maybe West is a bad guy and this is all a ploy to get Claire. I loved them sitting on the Hollywood sign but I hate him.
The Twins.

this season has been interesting in terms of illustrating the show's premise that people are who they are - not just claire, mr. bennet, and micah unable to fully contain themselves from being themselves even if they know they are putting themselves at risk, but to me, the most interesting example so far is sylar resorting to killing the "old-fashioned way" (manually) when he realizes he's unable to do so telekenetically any more. I like this. "You define youself and therefore your use of your power--->your power does not define you."

Heroeswiki just reminded me that A Streetcar Named Desire, the play from when the phrase "the kindness of strangers" comes, is primarily set in New Orleans.
And as of this episode, Claire Bennet is now the only character to have appeared in every single episode of Heroes to date.

And as a special treat, check out what you can see in Molly's eyes as she talks about Matt's father:

Which tells me I should be more explicit. One of the few remaining streetcars in the city, that went up canal street and over to the less touristy parts of town? has "Desire" on it as the name, where other cities would have more conventional names like "the red line" or "nob hill" or some such. So Claire's the only one? Huh. Yeah, no Peter this time, and no Hiro. ETA, re: Molly's eyes? AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
