He was truly being a hero with his powers and then such a futile ugly death. yeah. i wish he had shifted when he first saw the gun! For a while I wondered why he didn't phase; he certainly had enough time to. But then it occurred to me that not phasing might have been one last act of heroism on D. L.'s part—they were on a busy staircase in a fairly crowded place, so if the bullet goes through D. L. there's a good chance someone else dies instead.

poor d.l. D.L.'s death . . . how lame was that? First of all, how long does a person have to train to become a firefighter? And two, the entire method in which D.L.'s death was set up was just so badly handled. If Kring wanted D.L. off the show, couldn't he have killed the character at the end of Season 1? It usually takes about 12-14 weeks of training to become a firefighter. So if D. L. began shortly after he got out of the hospital, then the timing actually works out almost perfectly.

Thinking about the different powers that we've seen, Maya's is a lot like Ted's power, and it took him a while to be able to control his. He got lucky. He had good mentors. Whereas, Maya has Sylar.

in this episode, we found out that maya and alejandro are apparently from venezuela (or at least, they are there at the time of his wedding). out of curiosity i just looked up statues of mary weeping tears of blood in venezuela, and i got a bunch of hits on google. here is a link to photos of the one that seems to be the most well-known: www.visionsofjesuschrist.com/weeping414.htmaccording to my brief skimming of a few sites, statues of mary will also weep other things. in particular, the weeping of oil seems similar to maya's appearance during her power. the same church as above had a different mary statue that they said weeped oil (apparently that is less exciting for people to photograph, as i've had trouble finding a decent photo of it). Oh, very cool. Thanks, Artemis!

Teaser
Suresh's VO, ARGH!!!! Deep Sigh, Moving On.
Adam and Peter.
TMWNN did wipe Peter's mind. If Adam is telling the truth, that is.
Peter can heal, then he can heal his mind. That opens up a very interesting discussion about the healing power.
Nathan is most important to Peter.
4 months ago. Back at the end of last season finale.
That's how Nathan's face got burned. And why Peter couldn't fly on his own.
This doctor looks familiar.
Alejandro's wedding. This can't be good.
Alejandro only knew his wife for four months. Does that mean something or are we just going with power manthe "4 msonths" theme?
Maya's power manifest' itself. When she's upset, of course. So why all this emphasis on proximity to Alejandro rather than keeping a calm mental state? Unless there's some creepy implication that she can only be calm when Alejandro's looking after her, in which case this sibling relationship is more unhealthy than it first appeared.
Ah, the bride is cheating with the ex. And Maya kills the whole wedding party.
So then Maya and Alejandro go on the run after this. I think starting off there story with this scene would have made them a lot more interesting.
Dropping Nathan off at the hospital.
And there's Elle and Midas. Zap goes Peter.

Part I
He's not a toy, Elle. He could be. Ooh, creepy.
Paper Company doctors working on Nathan. Iee.
Peter's abilities in control of him, not him in control of his powers.
They've turned off his powers. So they were the ones who turned off Sylar's powers?
TMWNN. He can turn off powers as well as taking memories. Still working with the Paper Company? Under cover?
Research started 30 years ago to permanently disable powers, now reinstated.
Mama Petrelli and Nathan.
Wow Nathan's all burnt but his eyebrows are intact? Amazing!
DL. So he did make it.
Whoa those are some So the Paper Company is looking after DL as well.
So Midas and thers did not agree with Linderman's plan. They were all in NYC anyway. Did they know that they would be safe from the explosion?'
Is what Midas says true, that the power manifesting is what gave Nikki split personality? Sort of negative comment on her character. After al, lNathan was in denial about his power too and he didn't develop a split personality.
Midas is like the quintessential salesman, selling things people don't need.
Medication.
Haitian Pills. Groan.
Adam.

Part II
Three Months ago.
Micah is 11? I thought he was like 5.
So Nikki DL and Micah are like the Incredibles.
Ah, the medication is just doping up Nikki. So she stops taking the medication and ends up killing DL?
Heroes or dangerous men?
Two Months Ago
Peter is sedated, like Nikki.
Elle's background.
Adam had an counter with Elle 6 years ago. First came to the Paper Company 30 years ago.
The Paper Company isn't developing a cure. Or have they just done so already?

Part III
Nathan's wife.
So Mama Petrelli is responsible for Wife and Kids leaving and the restraining order on Nathan.
Touching Heidi. Is that significant?
Gina, now. Nikki is trapped again.
Adam's blood can cure poeple.
Adam can't be killed. So that means that Claire can't either.
Adam has a plan to escape.
DL's a fireman? Did we know this?
Gina took off.
Seems like it has to be about Nikki owning her past and the things that happened to her and her choices before the split personality thing will go away.

Part IV
Waiting.
There should be cameras in these prison cells, yes?
Adam told Peter about being 400 years old?
Maya joined a convent? I guess that explains her acute religosity.
So it's not proximity to Alejandro that prevents Maya from killing people, it's just that he can bring her back.
Now Maya and Alejandro are on the run. Nikki comes back. There goes DL. Damn!

Coda
Three Weeks ago. Wait. How much time has passed since the beginning of the season?
There's Midas again.
Ah, that's why Montreal.
Oooh, ShirtlessPeter!
And that's why storage crate.
You deserve a better fate. Helping Peter because Mama Petrelli helped TMWNN. So what did Mama Petrelli do for TMWNN?
CuredNathan. Does Mama Petrelli know how it happened?
Today.
Midas doesn't look to happy with what he did to Nikki?
I like this closing Suresh VO much better than the opening one. Mostly because I don't think anyone knows if other organisms worry about good and evil.
Present Day. Wait, isn't today present day?
So Peter's got his memories back, and he now knows how he knows Adam, but he doesn't know what Adam's been up to or the last 4 months.
Shall we save the world? dun Dun DUN!!

Elle's character was more interesting this time, with her creepy playfulness.
I think maybe it would have been better to structure the season by airing this episode first rather than as a flashback. I almost wonder if it was initially planned that way.

Looks like it's time to fill in some of the blanks... And for this week's fun factoid: Jack Coleman (Noah Bennet) is a great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of Benjamin Franklin.

cool about jack coleman. the twins are so dysfunctional i find it literally nearly painful to watch. Me, too. But they must be important to the story as a whole, since they are on screen a fair amount of time. I figure they're going to end up in NOLA, since it's sort of near the Mexican border.

"He's not a toy." "He could be." Oh, yes, Peter could be a very nice toy. Hmmmm. So Bob is trying to sell Peter on a chemical way to get rid of powers. Be "normal". [tangent]Why does Nathan still have eyelashes?[/tangent] Oh. And Bob is paying for D.L.'s hospital stay as a way to get to Nicki and see if she'll go for the same deal as Peter. Bob's plan for the Company is to get rid of powers. Well. Some powers, I'm betting. Oooooh! Electro-gal was the one who cut off the emo bangs? She must be evil!! And, yep. Adam is in the next room to Peter. So, I'm betting they escape together. Good point. Interesting how Nathan and Peter switched hairdos. Ooh, you're right.

So, Elle is Delilah to Peter's Samson; she cut his hair and took his power from him. Alright, alright, so Bob took Peter's powers, but still, you know what I mean. Besides, Elle was the one actually giving Peter the pills. Elle and her little visits to Peter in his cell reminds me of Drusilla playing with her "puppy". That girl is just not right in the head. She's an electric Drusilla. The twins are still annoying, especially Maya. I wonder if there's a village somewhere in Central America with a statue of the Virgin that weeps tears of blood? It's just that the image of Maya weeping black goo is so distinctive.Adam's a master manipulator (years of practice, no doubt) and I don't trust him an inch. P.S. And now, having encountered the Haitian, Peter can mindwipe. I wonder if we'll learn Mama Petrelli's power (which I think is mind-manipulation, very feminine and mommyish with the touching and the soft voice & ) when Peter uses it. Poor baby, you'd think his little head would explode... Ooh, good comparison.Yeah, that image came to my mind, too.Ooh, I hadn't thought of that. Of course, he doesn't remember TMWNN.
