Looking for some new Spuffy fic to read on All About Spike, I came across this fic which I'd never seen before. I've spent the last couple of days devouring it, and loved every word of it. It hits so many of my fic kinks, without actually being kinky! Rated R, for violence. Title: Things Present - Things Past Author: Estephia and Marcee Rating: R, for violence Pairing: Spike/Buffy Summary: Two timelines. Two Slayers. One problem! How does Buffy get back to her present time when she's sucked into the body of a Slayer in 1880? Can another Scooby who tries to rescue her survive the past? Plus, meet William and witness Spike's big decision! Things Present - Things PastI hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

I'm recommending this here because it is primarily gen, and putting it in the slash thread would take a much longer disclaimer than putting it here. There is, however, mention of a slash relationship- discussion of it by the main characters, even- so if you're so terribly slash averse that you can't bear mention of it, well, skip this fic. You'll miss a complete hoot, but do what you must. This story is a spin of of a legitimately slash story, "There's Your Trouble", which Savoy Truffle wrote for the Music of Pain ficathon last year. In that story, an alternate Sunnydale existed, where Xander was gay, Jesse was alive (and was his skanky and exploitative ex, and that is not the slash pairing investigated here), Willow was just a plain vanilla girl genius, and Giles and Wes worked with Buffy, Faith, and Cordelia. Rupert's Angels is the story of how that happened, and how a Sunnydale where Buffy is Cordelia's best friend ("one step behind and to the right") is a different place, because Queen C says so. Julia, go ahead, read it, it's fun and fresh and Faith gets to be happy.

Copying this over from the WIP thread. Now complete. Title: When It Don’t Come Easy Author: Enigmaticblue Rating: PG-13 (maybe a little higher) Summary: Going rapidly AU during the events of Entropy in BtVS S6, Spike makes a couple of wishes that will change everything. What is Buffy going to do when presented with a very different Spike—who doesn’t feel quite the same way about her anymore? Characters/Pairing: Spike and Tara friendship with overtones of Spike/Buffy. A/N: This fic presupposes my short stories, The Lonely Hearts Club and The Way to a Poet’s Heart. You don’t have to have read those; just know that in this ‘verse Spike and Tara have become pretty good friends. When It Don't Come Easy

Lori plays on the theme of Giles and Anya in the last days of Sunnydale: "The Art of Tea" hard R, the small ceremonies of life persist in the days at the end of Sunnydale (about the time of "First Date"): community.livejournal.com/gilesanya_fic/33709.htmlJulia, off to buy sweet bland stuff for the boychild.

Stoney is an amazing writer who usually writes crack fic that, alas, is not to my taste (my weakness, not hers). Every once in a while she lets a serious, poetic, and impecably written fic easape; today, in Hell Is Where You Meet the Person You Might Have Been it's actually four short sharp shocks of ATS character parables on Biblical themes, absolute perfection condensed. Julia, go, read

Lyrstzha writes with snap and style and is capable of great angst ad great humor. "By Any Name" asks what would have happened if Lindsey had been sent by TPTB to be Spike's seer, and takes that to some funy places. This could be "preslash" for those with strong slash goggles, but I prefer it as gen, PG for demon slime: lyrstzha.livejournal.com/45393.htmlJulia, vastly amused

Lori has another story in the G/A AU s7 which she started with "The Left Hand "( recommended above). This one has Giles and Anya travelling to the Southwest for weapons and the last potential, and finding much more: community.livejournal.com/gilesanya_fic/35923.html#cutid1Julia, once one says "Lori" all other words of praise are superfluous
