Spikewriter, on a very special Valentine's Day indeed, sends us a fancy heart-shaped box full of Willow/Xander post-Grave AU(which is where many of her stories live). Willow always knew she'd turn the corner in Istanbul and run into somebody she was missing, but how and when it happens and what goes forward from there wasn't quite what she anticipated. PG, with catching up on the situation with all the surviving S'cubies and promises of a happy an ending as one gets in the Buffyverse. Julia, YAY! Valentines!

LJS, else Lori, has written much new G/A fic lately, and my life has not given me time to read the longer pieces. So it's good that today beings Of the Corvidae for the Giles Hurt/Comfort ficathon, where Giles is taken by a moment of inattention and thinks some unwisely honest thoughts in the wrong place. PG-13, I suppose, although on the innocent side of even that rating. Julia, derilict in so many things these days

From nwhepcat, a delightful Xander/Faith short tale, "Throwing the Stork". Rating: PG15 Summary: Xander and Faith have a situation, and sometimes there are problems that can't be answered by "What would John Crichton do?"

While reading through this year's buffyversetopfive, (recs start on Dec. 31, 2007: community.livejournal.com/buffyversetop5/2007/12/31/and from there you can just scroll forward through to Jan. 20) I've decided to at least attempt to post direct links to worthwhile fics. This is Giles, gen, set post Chosen with flashbacks to his first meeting with Chao An. heron-pose.livejournal.com/38429.htmlShe also has a Giles/Anya story of some length in her memories, but I haven't read it yet so can't exactly rec it.

My memory being what it isn't, it's entirely possible that I will re-rec a fic that somebody else (or even I) have previously listed. Oh, well, better repeat than not at all: Post Chosen---Buffy goes to Hell to get Spike back. community.livejournal.com/seasonal_spuffy/226935.html#cutid1Part one of seven parts---sequentially linked.

Please find herein the link to the complete list of chapters of nwhepcat's House of Women, rated R for sex and violence. And a fine tale it is, the latest in her Clevelandverse, with some interesting developments. Today she added a short coda. Read House of Women first, please. I hope I've done this properly - I'm not good at writing summaries even when I'm awake, and I don't want to give anything away. Just read it. And if you haven't read the rest of her Clevelandverse series, read that too.

Ladycat wrote Connor/Fraser (AtS crossover with DS, PG-13 and if it changes or develops, it will be moved and labeled as appropriate), An encounter in a Chicago alley: Fraser is taken by surprise, Deifenbacker is atypically cautious, RayK is left with no-one to arrest, and Connor has his vacation slightly interrupted. Post- seried for AtS, undefined time for dS. Julia, I feel a great power...

Seperis is running a multiple-fandom Dead Letter Challenge (there's a link in the headers to this story) and the best BtVS story I've read in a very long time is written for it: The Mezzanine Final Instructions Gen PG, post Chosen, and some people are organized beyond any reasonable expectations (description beyond that will ruin the story!). Julia, darkly comic and damned touching, though

"Kaleidoscope" at the author's LJ---sadly, it is white on black and small font, but worth the effort to highlight or copy over. penny-lane-42.livejournal.com/35486.htmlOr, if you don't mind frequenting the site, it's also posted at fanfiction.net and far more readable. www.fanfiction.net/s/4347012/1/KaleidoscopeStarts mid season 5 AtS and goes to post NFA. 7000 words, rated T (not sure why) brief appearances by most BtVS characters, but it's primarily a Buffy and Spike fic----but thoughtful---about how their meeting and relationship might actually play out. The author also writes: Author has written 61 stories for Harry Potter, Lost, C. S. Lewis, L M Montgomery, Battlestar Galactica: 2003, Firefly, That 70's show, Almost Famous, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, Friday Night Lights, Black Donnellys, Gilmore Girls, Heroes, TV X-overs, and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer I think I'll be checking out some of her other stories.

You Think She’s an Open Book (but you don’t know which page to turn to) Post- NFA, Lorne's in charge of Hell, and there's newcomers every day. One morning the random imports are from Pylea, and things are very different than he expected. And more than that would spoil the heart of the story, so you'll just have to trust me, go ahead and read it, and then try not to have happy tears. Julia, Spuffyduds is one of my favorite DS writers, and this is the first time she's written in Buffy/Angel verse for a very long time.

Followed a link from the Choose Your Author ficathon and found this person. Well, this is a link to one of her specific stories, but I'm working my way through her list of fics and after 4-5 of them (shortish, nothing overly long) I'll rec her in general. This is Buffy's love life in 5 drabbles. Spot-on, although #5 is not canon. deird1.livejournal.com/38151.htmlWorth reading. Clever writing. I've also read one about Fred and one about Wesley and Dawn, set season 3. All well done.
