Hepcat has added still another part (too short to call it a chapter) to her Spander "Keeper of the Book" sequel. That's two today! It's here. This one has a kiss. All previous parts are here.

Following from Eurydice's "This Wanton World," a tough-minded AU with Spike, Buffy, Giles, and Ethan as Buffy's Watcher/lover and Spike as her sometime hunter, sometime ally and lover, comes "Diamond Studded Flunkies." Four chapters are up, and she says she's finished Chapter 7 (though nothing but the first four have been posted). All posted parts are here.Note: I picked this up from makd's splendid recs in her LJ, here. Chapter 5 has now been posted. You can find it here. There are some wonderful stories in makd's rec post. There are a few I'd never have found if it hadn't been for Mary.

Spike's Heart, writing with Lilialeth, has a fic I've been avoiding for some time, not caring for the premise. It's titled "Beloved." The premise is that after NFA, Spike shanshues...but not the way anyone had supposed: he's a human infant and taken into Angel's care, with Nina as surrogate mother. In general, I am not enthralled with babyfic. However, when I began reading, I found the tale literate and interesting. Dru is trying to take the child for her own, and Buffy is a statue in Angel's garden, magicked into stone by the Immortal, with a so far unexplained mutual link to Spike's awareness. At this point, eight chapters plus several interludes between chapters are complete, and it seems to be updating at a good pace. To know more about this generally un-schmoopy tale, it's here.

Enigmatic Blue, "Avocation," Chapter 38. The Mayor is about to turn into a big snake. All parts here.Souled Spike (souled long ago), hired by the COW to be Buffy's protector, has become her lover; Joyce and Giles are also an item. A bit bland, and dependent on the reader's knowledge of the episodes it parallels for most of its drama. Readable, though.

Hepcat has updated the Spander "Keeper of the Book" sequel, here. A tiny bit, but pivotal.

Another piece of Dutch Buffy's post-NFA "Otherland," 12, in which Spike keeps appearing and disappearing to Buffy at what seem random intervals. This time, there's time for a spot of intense togetherness. It's here.

St. Salieri has a short fic set in BtVS S7 just before Dirty Girls titled "Return to Abnormal" in which Buffy and Spike, on patrol, dance around the issue of what they are, and can be, to one another. It's here.

Kimmerwoman's unutterably excellant post-Chosen Ganya fic, "Lake Mead" has a Chapter 10: www.livejournal.com/users/kimmerwoman/34126.htmlJulia, Giles, Anaya, and a trailer park in Arizona: because after "Chosen" neither of them want much more

First: I've been reading "Beloved", also, but without sufficient conficence in the writers to recommend it. It is far better than I expected it to be. On the other extreme, another short bit of "Another Door" is up, with Spike and Xander talking about Africa: www.livejournal.com/users/nwhepcat/511205.htmlJulia, wondering if there's any explosive devices strong enough to get the blue-eyed ones out of bed
