We all miss you, Nan. I sometimes wonder what you would think of the shows we are watching now. Somehow, I suspect, you would really enjoy Heroes. There's something about the theme of the show I would love to hear you weigh in on. Of course, perhaps you are watching it. I suspect if there is a heaven, it probably has really good reception and no commercials...except the really good ones that are entertainment in their own right. Vlad

Well, it was a year ago today that I took that trip to Cincy to Nan's funeral. I just re-read my summary of it . . . and the whole feeling of that evening came rushing back. Mostly, along with the sadness, it was a feeling of gratitude. Gratitude that I got to know a unique lady like Nan. She was one in a million. I miss her.

Vlad Somehow I think you are right about Nan and Heroes. One thing Nan knew how to appreciate and discuss was a true hero.

So, two years, now. Here's to the memory of the Nan Dibble. An original S'cubie, an original woman - an original.

So, two years, now. Here's to the memory of the Nan Dibble. An original S'cubie, an original woman - an original. I was thinking about Nan the other day. I guess because of the anniversary of her passing. I kept picturing her in that hat she wore to Chicago. She was such a neat person. As you say, she was an original. I'll second your toast.

Indeed, two years. I often think about Nan. Something will be said on the board and it's almost like I am waiting for her voice to chime in with her view on it. Frequently it was from... sort of left field, but most of the time, it was a wisdom. Sometimes uncommon, sometimes common, but always with a certain logic holding it all together. The woman observed and thought about the world around her. And that, alone would have made her special without any of her other qualities.
Rest in peace, Nan.

I just realized that I'd missed the 3rd anniversary of Nan's death earlier this month, and wanted to stop by this thread to pay my respects. Rest in peace, Nan. You are missed.

Found some of your books while I was packing. Thinking about you and all you accomplished. You are missed.

We are coming up on 5 years without Nan. She was such a daily presence, and such a valuable presence. She will always be missed. I think she would be pleased to know we are still chugging along.
