Is this a reference to (or from) something? Clearly I've missed it. It's a reference to the Matrix, when the little bald kid was talking to Neo.

Neo wants to know how he's doing it. The little kid says that, of course, there is no spoon. Like everything that comes out of anyone's mouth in the Matrix movies, it walks a fine line between enlightenment and nonsense, but I like it.

James. it's "amongst" only if you're Giles or possibly Spring.
That was pretty damn funny! Lee, sing the song!

Is this a reference to (or from) something? Clearly I've missed it. Perhaps already answered (I've only read this far) but it's from the original Matrix: the equivalent of a "the One" Potential telling Neo that one can't bend a spoon because the spoon (in the Matrix) is only the image of a spoon, as Matrix/Neo is only the image of a man. The thing to do is change his perception of it: then it bends.

OK, here's what I'm gonna do: post the part of Chapter 9 that's the sex scene as its own topic on the Main board and ask for comments. The intended rating is R. There are no named personal body parts, basically no explicitly described actions except for some kissing. The questions are:
1. Does it work (whatever work means in this context) 2. As best you can tell, can it still be accurately described by an R rating? If not, what parts (pardon) cross that line?
I'll REALLY appreciate feedback on this before I send it out to the sites carrying the story.

Nan, do you know anything about the new site, besides what Vlad has already said in "public." I know we are just supposed to wait, but the anticipation is making me all tingly.

Like everything that comes out of anyone's mouth in the Matrix movies, it walks a fine line between enlightenment and nonsense, but I like it. That explains why I didn't get it. I have never seen The Matrix. It sounds like something I would have a hard time following. Dumb and Dumber is more my speed.

No, Joshua, all I know about the new site is what Vlad's told me. I gather it has lots of space and features not available to us on our present site, where things ARE a bit crowded, what with the frames and all. I know it's soulfulspike.com, which should be an easy domain name to remember. And all the impressions I've gotten about it are of more freedom and options, and better integration/complementing of this board.
I believe it's gonna be splendid. But I don't actually know anything beyond what Vlad has said to everybody in describing it. I look forward VERY MUCH to finding out!

PSST
*glances around and whispers to the board*
I think part 12 is open... go check it out. If you hurry, you'll be in time to get a GOOD SEAT!
Later: *ushers everyone out and locks the door*
