I know I'm girl and all, but I kind of agree with you. When I was ten years younger, I loved going to those shows, but now I feel like a desperate, old...well, I won't go there. I went to the OG a few years ago and it just wasn't as fun as it used to be. It sucks getting older. Though, the guys in my Army Unit always talk about a place called The Traffic Light Lounge down near Ft. Benning, GA. that has quite the reputation. My 1st SGT almost got arrested there by the MP's for indecent exposure. It seems that one of the stripper ladies pulled his pants down around his ankles-- including his shorts!--during her routine. The MP's hauled his butt out of there so fast!! Luckily, a knife fight broke out nearby and they let him go. Of course, he wasn't our 1st SGT at the time this happened, but a Staff Sgt. Still, we never let him forget; it keeps him humble!! Gee...I wonder if there's a club like that near Ft. Huachaca, AR? That's right, I'll be sweating like a pig in Arizona next week, so I won't be around to pick on for a while. Let's hear the collective sobbing now, people. Get it out of your system. Don't worry, Betsy. It's a dry heat. One thing I cannot stand about Florida is the humidity. I get out of the shower and can't...get....dry. It annoys the heck out of me. Unlike the desert, where one can actually feel clean for a few minutes after bathing. I had a joke about the exposed sergeant that involved the word "staff," but I decided it was too cheap. I DO have some standards, after all.

Crazy Illinois weather - we had hailstones for about 15 minutes today! The backyard looked like a driving range. But it was back to muggy and hot about an hour later. Gotta love it.

I'm with you Betsy B. on this...actually, I'm not, I've never been to a strip club. Betsy L. has more....chutzpah than I would have if I stored it up all my life to have a one time only chutzpah party. By the way, I am not completely clear on what chutzpah is, hope I haven't misused it. I think it means nerve. Anyway, although I've never been to a strip club, I HAVE heard several drag queens sing 'Don't Cry for Me, Argentina' ....does that count? Probably not.... ;D

BetsyAB - check your IM. Gotta go watch The Dead Zone - 6 all new episodes. Does anyone here watch it? Tonight is supposed to be about a tornado that follows the main character (Johnny) around - kind of like the shark in Jaws. I am hopeful I won't be disappointed! And the kids want to yack on the phone. I have to get an upgrade on my technology here at home. There was a 'Dead Zone' marathon at the end of last season and I watched the whole season in a day or something...really enjoyed it. Sorry to have missed this! I loved the original movie with Christopher Walken, I think it was one of the few good Stephen King screen adaptations. (Love Walken too)

It's a muggy kind of day here in Michigan today. Dad and I went to see T-3 to escape the heat. I agree with you that it wasn't as good as the first two. I mean there was no emotional resonance at all. I just didn't care if the characters lived or died. It was all blowing things up and guns blazing, but where was the emotional connection between the two leads? No, not Arnold! In the first one, there was sexual and emotional chemistry between the two characters. I cried when Michael Biehn died. Even in the second one I bawled like a baby when the Terminator lowered himself into the vat of fiery death. But I didn't even choke up in this movie. If you want to see a movie that will move you, go see The Pianist, with Adrien Brody. That movie completely, emotionally engaged me from the moment it started until the end. It was wretchedly sad and horribly violent...yet I was in that movie, experiencing that horror. I used to hate tearjerker movies, but all these crappy stories coming out...It makes me long for Angel to come back on so I can be wraped up in good, emotional storytelling with characters I care about. No other show on tv can do what Joss does, no matter how much he ticks me off! Don't you agree? completely...and I agree with what you said about T-3 also. I enjoyed it, but...no romance, and the female terminator wasn't nearly as cool as the male one in T-2. Although, that could have been because I just didn't like her suit.

It's wierd, I was reading an article in the TV guide about the revamping of the Dead Zone, and I guess it's viewership really declined this past season. The whole Evil Senator storyline is kaput, and it's moving away from the movie characters and to more of a "monster of the week?" feel. Does that remind you of another show we all know and love? I did watch the episode and it was pretty good. But who is Kate? I thought it was the ex-wife, but she was at the lake. I also remember the red-haired, garment-challenged--does she have to walk around half-naked in every episode?--lady who drools after Johnny, but I can't place Kate. I guess it's baan a while since I've seen it. Yawn. Time for bed. It's midnight here. Oh, and you should get cable internet; it's a Godsend! My Dad never complains about me hogging up the phone line anymore, and I can stay on-line for as long as I like! It's totally awesome!!!

I also can't seem to push part 18 to the top, so go post in it. Maybe that'll do it.
See ya there!
