Betsy, I can't see your avatar.
Flippersmacking security alerts! All right, I give up. This is way too annoying tonight. See you folks tomorrow! Must be Moloch, cause now I can't see Miss Kitty Fantastico, either.

Well, I'm really going now. Yes, Spike, I know it's hard after being resurrected. I can help you with that not so little problem. Night everyone

I don't like Eve -- don't hate her, just can't figure out why she isn't Lilah. . She looked about 15. But then we *do* know that Angel likes 'em that age... ;D Mary

Can you send me the link at your site so I'm not linking & stealing bandwidth? Hopefully everyone can see pretty Spike then. Nicki, I haven't put it on my website yet. I just put the pic on my hard drive. I'll do it tomorrow and send you the link, ok?

It made me laugh a lot. There were things that remain a tad bit confusing, but I'm hoping they're supposed to be. Just about every vibe I got was negative. This Wolfram and Hart thing is clearly a VERY bad idea.
I am unspoiled...but I'll take a wild shot in the dark and guess we've seen the last reference to Cordy for a very long time...if ever. That, to me, is terribly sad.
Are we supposed to believe that Gunn is really this stupid? 'Cause if I were him, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't let the Senior Partners log directly into my cerebrum, no matter what Bobby Seale had to say in the White Room (did it have black curtains?).
Just a note of interest: without doubt I'm forgetting an episode here or there, but I view this as the most overtly political installment Joss has written. Besides the shot at George Sr, we now know that Joss supports the Dixie Chicks. Pretty clever way to do it considering Fred's Texan roots. I liked the shot of her backing up, momentarily making her the 4th Chick. Made me chuckle.
Wesley recognizing Spike is inexcusable. I'd be shocked if half the viewing audience didn't pick that up immediately. It would have been such a simple matter to just have Angel say it first, then to have Wes react. Just sloppy. That's harsh...but Joss ought to know better. Maybe it'll be explained in the next episode.
Overall, though, it was quite an entertaining start. Spike interacting with all these new people will be a blast to watch. Oh...I almost forgot. Eve is kinda sexy. I like her. ;D
Now where the hell is Gwen Raiden?

The logos were gone earlier, must be some technical glitch.
I miss Lilah. Eve just doesn't do it for me. Her character doesn't flow. And I don't like her enough to care if she's good or evil. I just hope they're not setting her up for a love interest for Angel.
DB's hair has grown out a bit. With a little vitalis he could do Elvis. I like Lorne better in pastels. That red and blue outfit: gahhhh!
This ep seemed like big preface. The season doesn't really start for me until Spike shows up. Loved the sacrifice hotline, the cars, the elevator and the "I have no problem spanking men." DB looked really tall in this episode. Now i have to wait another whole week until things really get going. Sigh.

When thousands of fans catch it immediately, why does no one among the cast, crew or heirarchy of the show catch it during numerous drafts, rewrites and filming? Sometimes I think they need a fan expert on staff to help them with these things. Mary

Loved the sacrifice hotline IMO, the funniest bit in the show, and there were several moments that made me laugh out loud. Question: What's up with the Spiderman start? Where does Angel keep getting these ever more extravagant powers? Will Spike have them too? If not, why? Are these just to point up that Angel is the 'hero', the 'good guy' (in case we missed that when they tell us over and over in the promos). I can see that Angel is more than 100 years older than Spike, but he didn't have these fighting skills five years ago on Buffy. Will Spike get them now that he's living in the same rarified LA environment? Mary

Spike just calls it cheap gypsy tricks, but the powers seem to increase as a vamp ages.

Of course, Vlad already was there, so I'll have to lie in the section of the application where they ask about clubs/organizations.

The new design of the main S3 site took me some getting used to, but I'm starting to appreciate the asthetic aspects a lot more. Vlad has done a terrific job with this. I realize I'm probably late with the praise, but it's genuine nonetheless.
The opening gate is just tremendous.

Re: the opening scene - I was thinking more on the lines of Tarzan with the rope swinging. Very cool and slick. But the fight scene I liked better was the ending, when Angel was vamped. So, Angel likes pig's blood with a touch of otter? Harmony, such a good "assistant". I don't do that for my boss. I loved the episode. I can't wait for next week. Wesley recognizing Spike was indeed odd. Maybe there is a reason for that, and it wasn't a mistake. Wesley was the only character that we really didn't get a good look at tonight. Could be he read more than he's letting on in that vast record room. I'm reaching here, but I don't want this to be a mistake that haunts the season. As far as the amulet being too conveniently there to be opened - well Eve -she's a sly one. She might have put it there and bypassed Harmony. That happens in my office all the time - to no good end usually. I also watched Smallville, and if it continues as dark as it was tonight, it's going to be a good lead-in for Angel. They are definitely out of high school.. Loved the Dixie Chick poster. And loved the feel of the office meeting at night - more of the old Angel camaradarie feeling - we might not see much of that, but when we do it will feel significant. Also, I liked Harmony if only for giving me a sense of continuity between Buffy and Angel. Good to see old faces, as Wesley said. Great insights everybody!

That happens in my office all the time - to no good end usually. Well the envelope addressed to Angel was in the mail cart that that demon was pushing around the office. After the opening scene with the kid in the school, the camera went right to that envelope in the mail cart. Then it was on Angel's desk, which he handled once or twice, but kept throwing back on the desk when something else came up. Can't remember if there was postage on the envelope or not? I'm thinking maybe the PTB sent it? There has been no mention in any of the spoilers I've read about how the envelope got to LA.
