I cheered like crazy for Ohio in the title game last year -- after all, Big Ten, right? Of course, as a lifelong Madison area resident, I wanted them to go down last night. ;D It was an exciting game, wasn't it? Close all through. But what was up with Reynolds choking Sorgi to the point where he couldn't swallow, couldn't talk and had to leave the game?!!?? Because . Mary Yes, it was an exciting game. My sister and I watched it together and came up with the "sold his soul" theory for the Wisconsin coach. Yes, I even root for Michigan (don't tell anyone!) if they go to a big bowl game - when push comes to shove, I do root for the Big Ten team. Sorgi did a good job, and Krenzel did his usual cool as a cucumber last few minutes march to the end zone. But it didn't work this time. I hated to see the Bucks loose - I grew up in Central Ohio and went to OSU and the sun just rises and sets on those Buckeyes. But it is good that the pressure is now off of them somewhat. Everyone was gunning for them, hoping to be the first to end their streak - now, it's done.

We've talked before about that OTHER vampire series, Forever Knight, concerning vampire Nick Forever Knight. Sci-Fi channel is gonna be running several days, this current week, of back-to-back Forever Knight episodes. Those who have cable might want to tape them, despite the fact that they're running 8 hours a day--from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening. I'd suggest checking listings either at tvguide online (http://tvguide.com, then Listings on top navigation bar of site), or Zap2It (http://www.zap2it.com/index then click on "click for listings" bar, upper right corner), and put in your zipcode for listings in your area.

Kerrie, if I understand you correctly, you are just thinking of changing 'Off Topic' to allow people to discuss previous episodes there. I don't see that as a problem except I do not want out of US people thinking that is where they must post. As moderator I'd prefer you title it something like 'Unspoiled for Season Five Angel'. Thanks. Kerrie, I see you are offline. I went ahead and changed the title of that thread, and made the message to posters there correspond, and have IM'd you in case you don't see this. Happy posting! (and of course, you can modify that opening post as you see fit.) Thanks Patti.

The Daughter and her roomies, who are spending the weekend with me so that they could go to the Wisconsin - Ohio game (and DAMN! All my kids just love that movie, and the rabbit scene always makes me think of Anya. Mary FINAL: Wisconsin: 17 Ohio State (aka defending national champions): 10 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Patti! Thanks Caraleigh for trying to alert me to your "spoiler" post. I am sorry that you forgot what it was and worry that it was the warning post that made you forget. Sorry. Thanks also to Nan and Caraleigh for suggesting the hidden text for spoilers. I think we need to distinguish between real spoilers and International spoilers. Real spoilers are never permitted on this thread. I can only speak for myself, but International spoiler warnings are appreciated, but not expected. There is always a risk of being spoilt by an International spoiler when I come on this thread or even on the picture thread. There is even a risk of being spoilt looking at 'new' avatars. I expect people to want to use the new season so I don't look at avatars and when I do I try not to guess where they came from or what they mean. Please note that I am NOT hinting that people should stop doing that, because that would be unreasonable. Moreover it would make the S'Cubie board look silly if no-one had anything current. However, the number of international posters is growing. I am not the only one who wshes to be relatively unspoilt when I watch the episodes. Consequently, I am thinking of changing the Off-Topic thread to an International Scubie corner. Off-topic conversation will still be done, but there will also be discussion of of the Joss-verse. The only rule will be no discussion of the current season of AtS. (I feel strongly enough about this rule that I will increase the penalty from teasing to sooking at any offender!) I am now interested in what other people think of this idea. Am I splitting up the board too much? Will this be impractical? I will still be trawling the main thread for discussion ideas, but I will probably take them back to the "safe" thread to discuss them properly. Don't worry, you had nothing to do with me forgetting my post. Early morning and lack of brain cells are the culprits ;D It wasn't a big deal anyway, just thought I solved the mystery that is JW's mind is all The hidden spoiler text was just something I would see on other boards and wondered if it would work here. I see now that it won't. When will you get the tapes Lee is sending?

Kerrie - I think you are in a pretty tough spot trying to remain active on the board and in discussions about the characters and the show - yet trying to stay unspoiled for Season 5 Angel. I think you may be able to minimize spoilage with an International S'cubies thread, but I don't think you will be able to completely avoid it unless you restrict yourself absolutely to that International Board. Naturally, we will be discussing current episodes on this board, and possibly refering to occurences in them, even if we are discussing something that happened in BtVS. A picture posted in the pics thread, or the pic-of-the-week thread could be spoilery. An interview in the interviews thread could be spoilery to you. Even the Spikecentricity thread could be spoilery, as could my analyses. (IF I ever get back to writing them, which I promise I will - life has been very hectic of late!). The only way to completey avoid being spoiled would be to never leave the International thread, or to find an Australian board. I would hate to loose you but ultimately that's the decision: Do you stay with us, take a chance, and live with whatever spoilage comes your way, or not?

no, I haven't started Trust; I am still liking Truths enough that I re-read the last chapter - 3 times! I love mysteries, detective stories, especially those set in big cities that I know, like New York, New Orleans, etc. So, what with the City setting, and that oh, so visually appealing ending.... I really like the last 500 words of that book. I can see it so clearly, PattiT.... It'd be a really fun movie! Wow. You've read the last chapter of "Truths" one more time than I have. Thank you. I actually went back and read it again yesterday after your original post...hadn't looked at it since May. When I first released this chapter, someone pointed out the Spike's dialogue at the end didn't "sound" like him. That was a very perceptive criticism. It's the one and only time that I (consciously) stepped into the story with my own voice for a sequence. In effect, I slipped on the duster for a moment and used Spike to pontificate a little (I gave it back to him in the last few paragraphs). That is a mistake I've tried very hard not to repeat. Writing dialogue for Spike is still very difficult for me...I find I have to satisfy myself with halfway decent most of the time. I tend to paint him with a softer light than the show generally did...probably because he's in a committed relationship with Buffy in my little universe, and I think that changes a man. Not sure why I'm sharing that, but you know...just in case you were interested. If you decide to give it a try, I hope you enjoy "Triangles."

I would hate to loose you but ultimately that's the decision: Do you stay with us, take a chance, and live with whatever spoilage comes your way, or not? Thanks Spring. I think I have already experienced all the ways of being spoilt that you described. My memory is so bad that I am hoping that they will have been forgotten by the time I see the episodes. Yet here I am. Does that give you a clue as to whether I prefer a spoiler-free existence or a S'Cubie free existence? In short, I avoid spoilers, but I am not letting that fear dictate my life on the board and I accept that I will be spoilt often. I don't care as long as it is unintentional. In terms of the Australian BtVS board. It is weird - they all use psuedonyms. However, their starting page is really cool! Or, at least it was cool last season. It may have changed now. And there is a lot active members in the "I hate Spike Club". Please don't make me go there! I would rather live a Spike-free existence!

I think Patti has forgotten her own "Stop at 300 Posts Rule." Which probably means that she'll end this Part immediatetly and nobody will see my announcement that Chapter 7c of The Blood Is the Life is up and posted on my Live Journal: www.livejournal.com/users/nandibble/3309.htmlAbout two more sections to go, to complete the chapter. It's rolling along quite quickly now. I think I'll be finished with this one in another day or two (it now being nearly 4 in the morning, I don't think I'll do any more tonight).

A new winner was crowned. "Sunstroke" submitted by RAKSHA won the second Pic of the Week. See for yourself on the website what a great pic it is!. Way to go Raksha! You are now a part of indelible S'cubie memorabelia!. The voting was EXTREMELY close this time! I would like to extend my thanks to all the non-winners for helping make the POTW a success.
I'll now let you go back to your regular posting. The new nomination thread is posted. Any questions about Pic of the Week should be directed to PattiT.
