I agree. And why does she have to be either/or? There's also bi, or just loving who you love, no matter what the plumbing's like. But it was shocking enough that Willow "went gay" in the first place. Joss nearly quit over the Willow/Tara kissing scene in TB. Making Willow bi would have just been too beyond the beyond for most TV execs, I'm sure. Maybe the execs don't mind so much as they think the viewing audience can't handle it. Shanno Why did JW nearly quit over the kissing scene in TB? Which episode was that?
GAIL

My memory's a bit fuzzy on this, but I'm pretty sure Giles never mentioned Angel killing any slayers. Spike's killing two was apparently considered pretty hot stuff. If it's that unusual for a vampire to kill a slayer, though, why do slayers live such short lives? There must be things way worse than vampires out there. Just random musings here. Spike explains the short life of slayers in the ep where he describes killing Nikki Wood to Buffy at the Bronze. Something about Slayers having a deathwish... Shanno

GAIL TB...The Body, when Joyce died. Willow was trying to figure out something appropriate to wear to the mortuary (all her shirts had "stupid" things on them) and Tara comforted her when she broke down crying in her room. So they kissed. It was completely non-sexual but, apparently, the execs had a fit and ordered Joss to cut the scene. He refused and quit, but they relented in the end. Supposedly, he was boxing up his stuff when they called; he refused to take the call, told his assistant to tell the execs he was packing, but (thankfully for all of us freakos here) they ironed out their differences. And yet..."Smashed" they don't object to? Shanno

Shanno I suspect, to count, it would have to be single combat between a given vamp and a Slayer. Other slayers are likely pulled down by a pack, outnumbered and then killed. No one would have single credit for a kill like that.

Dear Technopagan, the previous page (32) runs completely off the page to the right, and the quote button isn't visible. Can you possibly find the post that has the URL bumping things away to the right and tuck it somehow so that the page returns to normal proportions? I couldn't respond in the normal way, anyway, to anything on that page, nor could I read it all, either. Nan, I saw that - I went in to modify it but it would have broken the link. I didn't want to do that, so I backed out. On my browser though, there was a slider bar that lets me move over so I could stilll get to the buttons. I'm using Netscape at the moment.

I remember that kind of thing happening on a regular basis all last year with slayage links. Which is additional proof that we have the best techno-pagans out there! I don't understand why they are not using the link Vlad is sending them...makes no sense...

And further proof that the S'cubies are taking over my life: My nephew's birthday is next week and I needed to get him a gift so I wrote his name in large letters on my grocery list (I shop at Walmart, he's 6, it works--no, I was not going to send him groceries). Then, there I am in Walmart going thru the list and ROB is in the middle of my list. My first thought was not of my nephew! My only consolation--I'm only 20th on the list. So 19 of you are in even worse shape. Sue um...I don't want to talk about it... *blush*

Playing catch up as usual.... As I see B/S in S6 as a case of domestic battery, I view Spike's attack as akin to the victim of abuse who lashes out at his/her attacker. It isn't right, but it's understandable. It worries me sometimes that I still believe in B/S, given the dysfunction in S6. On the other hand, B/S in the last half of S7 was sublime. They forgave each other and relied on one another in a healthy way. It bothered me when Giles said "You rely on him, he relies on you." like it was a bad thing. I thought, isn't that what people do? JW had referenced 'The X-Files' before, and B/S reminded me very much of M/S. Their relationship wasn't always smooth sailing either (Scully once shot Mulder, Mulder sometimes took Scully very much for granted), but it was very deep and real. B/S even had a quintessential M/S moment back-to-back down in the old Initiative HQ(complete w/ flashlights!) in The Killer In Me. Who's seen Galaxy Quest? I laughed so hard the first time I saw it I had tears running down my face. It's a funny but loving tribute to fandom. I have been to both Star Trek (not recently, and not in costume) and BtVS cons, 'cuz I'm just that cool! They got it just right. Have to disagree w/Kerrie on Spike being an opportunistic bully. Throwing a few punches at Angel seems reasonable to me, since Angel's spent the entire ep. whining about Spike's presence. D*mn that Spike, he selfishly dies to save the world, then doesn't have the decency to stay properly dead and quit bothering people!I'm glad Fred is still scanning Spike. Not sure what the whole falling temp signifies, but I'm glad they brought it up again, just the same. Could the heat have something to do w/Spike's fiery demise? As for the Spike-haters, I read that rebuttal to The Greater Capacity for Good hoping to find a logical debate. Instead, it was strictly a diatribe. The author (male?) referred to Spike as a walking dildo, and then ended w/some truly appalling (il)logic. He said that all one needed for redemption was a soul and a woman's love. If that were true, Angel would've been redeemed years ago. And the argument that Spike was raping Buffy every time they had sex due to her mental state is patently absurd. Buffy knew what she was doing when she initiated the sexual phase of their relationship. To think that Spike was raping Buffy when in Gone she barged into his crypt, slammed him against a wall, and tore off his shirt is to be so deeply in denial. Besides, I can't think of a single rape victim who would willing nuzzle her rapist's ear.

Me again....then I'm going home.
Forget who (Diane?) suggested that Harmony would be the one to Shanshu. I read the comment this afternoon and it still cracks me up hours later. It's sick and wrong but somehow frighteningly plausible. ;D Read a fanfic called Met Its Match (I think) where Harmony resists TFE.

I'll try and see if that solves the actual (as opposed to the esthetic) problem. Thanks for trying, anyway, Patti.
