I'm first. (I need a life). Every time we open a new section, someone pops on claiming to be The First. But we know your lying -- typing requires corporeality.

I see that the bawdy pre-Angel posting party is now in full swing , and that the Nameless One is at it again (you did go over 500 posts, that's tempting fate right there!). Diane, it's a Singer Quantum Decor - I couldn't afford electronic, and I'm not into machine embroidery anyway - I'm more of a hands-on kind of woman. Rachael, I think patron saint of geeky college girls is a great idea - you can watch over mine when they hit college, because they are both heading straight towards geek-dom. Like their mom, only with any luck they'll actually finish college. Off to eat lunch before Patches decides it's deserted, and therefore hers.

Hmm. . .true in the case of the First, as far as we could ever see, but what about our Spikey? He's non-corporeal (or was, up to week before last, at least), but managed to manipulate stuff. Of course, maybe in learning to manipulate stuff he became corporeal again. . .hasn't really been resolved. My mind is wandering. Hey, did anyone else notice the BtVS Season 7 fascination with eyes? Not just Xander's, but everywhere you look (hee hee), there's a reference to eyes, or eyes getting gouged out (I've counted three gougings, including Xander's, so far.)

I heard Eve's name being used in vain and came running.
*ducks to avoid the flying vegetables and fruits*
Ok, ok, just kidding. I actually had a thought the other day (that is such a rare thing I had to make mention of it) about why they brought in Eve instead of bringing Lilah back. Let's forget for the moment that they were scaling down on budget and Stephanie's take-home is probably (definitely) more than Sarah's. We've seen that Wesley seems to have reverted back to early S4/late S3 Wes. Gone is the tough-ass rogue demon-hunter. He's even all clean-shaven (damn Joss).
So, presumably, Lilah being around and remembering ALL (and, if Eve knows about Connor, I assume Lilah would as well) would cause a problem. Perhaps, Angel's wiping of Connor's existance from everyone's changed the past enough that they would not have been in the position to put up with Lilah as the middle man between the FG and the Senior Partners. Plus, let's face it, Lilah would be wasted in what has been a minimal role so far.

Together with my neice and my best friend's daughter, I've got a little cadre of future college geeks to take care of. Of course, I'll be torn - my impulse is to encourage them to get into more trouble than I did when I was in college. And have more parties where they wake up surrounded by four gay men. I missed out, apparently. . . .

I caved and posted on the Nerd Alert (after claiming lack of time). I am announcing this because I get struck by my creative muse approximately once a decade and, no matter how pitiful my effort, I'm exorbitantly proud of it.
Plus...drum roll...it was the quickest and cheesiest of the 3 ideas I had, but now I really do have to cross a few things off my list before working on Scenario #2.
(I know you are waiting with bated (do you spell it that way in this context?) breath.)

I missed the Jonathon one - probably happened during the 8:00 ep, when I'm on my way to work. So, counting the big rubber lots of eyes thingy, and the gougings, that's already five references right there.

I could be totally wrong, but CBS held a 75 year anniversary special the other night honoring stars past and present and there were some v-e-r-y old folks in the audience. Maybe this was the reference.

The difference is that Spike is a ghost, or at least a form of one. The First Evil is something completely different. That's the trade-off -- TFE can take many forms, but can touch nothing. Spike can touch, but is stuck in his current form.

I still miss Lilah, though.
