Oh, so it is. I just want some of Julia's rain. Send it down here, we can use it. At this point, I'd be glad to. However, it has insured that we are not incurring my sister's displeasure by taking off for two days when she needs a babysitter; they won't be able to mow hay until Saturday, even if it stops raining right now. Julia, it's almost always sunny at Kalaloch, even when it's raining a half-mile inland

LOL! I would have just passed out from embarrassment because the Fed-Ex guy here is totally hot. Plus, he always smells really yummy. And he's friendly and sweet. Shanno, about last night... Remember the time statement was a thought in Xander's head, not a statement of fact. Is all. Julia, everything is all right, all right

But if this is a WIP I will spend the rest of my life tracking you down.

So I see the FedEx guy approaching our door toting something large and seemingly heavy. Being the amazing human being I am, I go to get the door for him. When I open in he looks at me, somewhat surprised, and I start to say, "I saw you had a large..." And right there my brain kicked my vocabulary center and stopped me before I said the word "package." I finished the sentence with the word "box" instead. Wednesday indeed. ;D I probably would have said it anyway and then giggled like an idiot

I was lurking last night and saw your post about the time. I was yelling in my head "No, no. Keep reading, it'll be okay". LOL.

I didn't even read it when it was WIP, although she was updating every couple of days. This is a finished work. Julia, NOT going to WIP anyone without extensive and melodramatic warning

I mean, I went back and forth between the West coat and England for 15 years and made those time-zone calculation phone calls all the time. Even had to know when to take Daylight Savings Time into account - there's sometimes a week-long period between when the US clocks go forward/back before the UK clocks so it's then 7 hours or 9 hours difference, depending. Anyway. So. That's it, really.

just conversed with mum on the phone
she got all grumbly because "I don't know, one child practicing topiary on his head, the other gets tattoos."
My big looming brother has shaved off almost all the hair on his head except for the strip down the middle. mohawk (still quite short, but growing) and a little beard. I didnt go in to visit when I first saw this because I was fairly sure I couldnt stop myself from laughing. Laughing at the looming one seems unwise. And mum is all of a fuss about me getting the tattoo on my wrist because 'It's right over the artery!', and I happened to mention I was going to go get the gaps fixed.
so she's grumbling about me and sib2, when sib1, the daft one, comes in and hands her photos from 'school' (He is 25 but still goes to some school type thing for special needs people).
pause from mum's end of the phone.
"Why are you wearing a flying helmet and goggles, holding a small bomb in one hand and waving an American flag?"
I lol too much to hear any of the rest of the conversation, but apparently sib1 was on his own planet as usual and didnt feel it needed any explanation.
Family. Gotta love em.
*giggles more*

My sister-in-law and I IM'd each other for a year and I know what the the London/Central time difference is, but I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out in the story. I've got to say that I liked The Loner better than the other parts. It just really sucked me in and I couldn't stop reading it.

Speaking of WIPs: one that I'm following, which is at the moment running about C, maybe C+ for good Xander interior babble, constantly derails itself by having Xander think in terms of metres, and today makes the egregious mistake of Xander waking up happy it's Thursday and the shops will be open late: he's going to WALMART, for freaking sake.
I do not care about British spelling, but if people are going to write about American characters they need to master a few basic facts about American culture and language.

And it looks like the love of outfits runs in yours! oh yes. the only way we got sib1 to stop wearing the one piece TNG outfit was to hide the thing. Even after it was way more than skin tight and you'd think it would hurt in sensitive areas, he still wore it. and sib2 has one of those ninja outfits with the silly shoes and hood. costumes and collecting. Only difference is the focus.

Now that I think of it, though, it's sort of a nice way of underlining how much Xandre's been avoiding thinking about, let alone communicating with, the English contingent. Julia, it's nice little details like that which pretty much show that work has been put into a characterization, unlike the store-closing time exampled above

He's seeming more rounded and figuring out how to deal, finally. I like Faith's voice in the story, but I wasn't enjoying at first the fact of her "togetherness" until I thought...you know, it's several years later and she's a solid chick who's been through a lot so I shouldn't be surprised. Plus, I like the woodworking.
