3. Something I've found strange: Duncan's a pretty good looking guy, yes? Yet there's been no drooling references when it comes to him stepping out of the shower with a towel wrapped around himself. Plenty of shirtless Logan stuff...but nary a word about Duncan. Are fans SO bothered by the character that they can't even recognize him as attractive? Or would that be a betrayal of Logan in some way? Not criticizing, just curious. My opinion on this without having seen ever episode and therefore not fully aware of all the characterization. Personality contributes a lot to attractiveness in addition to looks, maybe more so sometimes. (some say that matters more for women than men) Duncan doesn't really seem to have any.

Okay, just a few more things before I start in on replying to others.
This is all stuff I couldn't shoehorn into my review.
1. Ms. Hauser says "The last thing I need is more time in the tub." Sorry, I don't get it.
2. In the bathroom I was struck by Logan telling Veronica (regarding being out of it on the bridge), "I lied" then almost immediately following it up with "that guy's lying" (about the phoney eyewitness). He clearly thought he was justified in his lie but the other guy is wrong to lie. Situational ethics at it's most personal.
3. Ms. Hauser and her control issues with her son---she attempts to carry them over into her classroom: the bell rings and all the kids get up to leave. Uh-un. She says, and makes them all freeze until she releases them. I thought it was a nice touch.
4. The body dsymorphic (?) pamphlet: Who you are (Logan's) vs. who you see (my normal, honest boyfriend.)
5. I thought Woody's remark was very odd: "Don't worry, we're not spying on you."

The bathtub thing I was assuming was about taking baths to relax or unwind, which obviously weren't working.

Lola! Hey! I just sent the review off, so it is in the pipeline. I kind of like it. Sneak Preview of Coming Attractions. (Spoilers for my review, but only a tiny bit): I send the review to Carolyn and got several remarks back. Thought you all might appreciate this one: ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) She did clarify that later: Not that I believe that. She'd smack Pixi down in a minute, if she were in to chasing after fictional characters. #rofl1# Very much looking forward to your review, Sue!

I've been away from a computer since Thursday and haven't had the chance to read all the catch up post now at the library. Before I risk getting bumped I wanted to get this item out for discussion if it was missed so far: I can't quote exactly. I won't have a tape of the episode until this evenings local rerun. Meg's sister says something like the father said she wasn't ready to be tested. What was that about? It gives me bad vibes about dear old Dad. Could Meg have really been not "Like a Virgin" and could Dad have had something to do with it but little sis is not yet ready to be next in line? The thought gives other meaning to the ideas we have had about pregnancy or abortion. Being bumped now so can't add anything to the thought. Ohhhhh, I hadn't thought of that possibility . . . ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) I'm hoping no, but then again, this is Neptune we are talking about. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Whoa. MEOW! These girls are total bitcas. Put a tatoo here so people have something to look at? Nasty girls. Also? Hookers become heroes? Oy. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) This reminds me. One time I was watching Pretty Woman with a group of girls in high school and one of them said something (in response to the opening sequence where Julia Robert's body double is getting dressed) along the lines of "I want to be a hooker when I grow up." I shot her my best ![](http://www.soulfulspike.com/staff/smileys/frustcon/wtf.gif) face, and I think she reconsidered once she realized what she said, but the slumber party discussion reminded me of that same mentality a bit. Not sure what to conclude about this, that the movie glorifies prostitution? Not sure so I'll just throw it out there. And I think it really makes a commentary on the character of Kendall. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Does anyone else want to spork their eyes out at Duncan's turtleneck? Yikes! Hehe. I thought it was pretty funny. Just another sign that Duncan has no clue what VM really does. Hehe. Although seeing him in that, I totally had a flashback to Riley in 'As You Were'. *shutter* AHH! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) Could I ask, can we, umm, not talk about the promo here? I'm trying to go completely spoiler-free.... I thought we were allowed to talk about the preview. This stuff was all in the preview. Not the promo.

Okay, so I went alittle insane with the posting. Had alot to catch up on. Slowly the threads get more and more postings with each ep. And that's always a good thing.... So after catching up, I still have two questions about the illusive dialogue in the script. These two just don't make any sense, #2 way more than #1. I'd believe that they were written in a vague, weird way on purpose so we can learn more later, but does anyone have any ideas? #1. GRACE: I don't want to be tested. Daddy said I'm not ready.#2. Rodney knocks the wet sponge and container on the white rug and frantically starts mopping it up.
RODNEY: (screams) OH NO!
GIA: Rodney, it's just water. He's alittle intense sometimes.
Woody comes into the room and notices Rodney.
WOODY: Rodney. Rodney! Your mother is gonna be home soon and I'm gonna have to tell her about this. You know the rules.WTH? The second one just completely throws me. It was water! So want it this with having to tell his mother and knowing the rules? "How dare you accidently knock a wet sponge on the ground! To the dungeon!" The little girl being tested could be a lot of things. We are told that the parents are perhaps . . . excessively religious, so it could be that she is "tested" on her knowledge or something like that. Punished if she doesn't get all the answers right, etc. The thing with Gia's brother will, I think, come back again. Because I get the feeling Woody is up to his neck in some of the shadier dealings that are going on in Neptune, or about to go on. And so we'll be back looking at that extremely odd household. I tend to think that most of the children's stories will be revisited, at least briefly, by the end of the season. I agree. I think every child's story is going to interrelate in some way to the overall season arc. I don't believe any of that was throwaway. And I don't know where I read it but somewhere on LJ I read a spec about the boat and the corporation Boatloads of Fun. I don't remember the connection and I don't have one to post but that scene was so out of nowhere, I have to believe it was important.

AHH! It is general board agreement (I supposed I could actually check the rules) that anything that has been aired on TV is fair game and not considered spoilery. That means the 30 second thingie (I don't know whether you call this a promo or a preview---I use both words interchangeably) that is shown at the end of the episode is up for discussion. (Sorry, zimsham, if you avoid watching it, but it was a group concensus thing years ago that once something is actually aired, even if it relates to next week's episode, it is fair game.) What we do NOT discuss here is anything from any other source or media: websites, magazines, TV listings, or the opening scene for next week which is up at the UPN website Altho, there is a thread for that. That said, since we have a poster who is avoiding even the preview/promos it can't hurt the rest of us to try to remember to maybe put a bold heading on such remarks: "Discussing the preview for next week," so she can avoid that post if desired.

Having said the above I'll also make the personal observation that I don't believe a thing I see on previews. I think they tend to be filmed to be deliberately misleading and rarely tend to play out as implied.

I will certainly not comment on the preview at the end of the episode if zimshan wants to avoid it. I am in fact happy to help her out. I get the impression though that she thought I was talking about the opening scene that was on the UPN website. I wasn't - the crying and the car are all in the preview and that was the only thing I was commenting on. I'm sorry though because I lurve zimshan and wouldn't want to spoil her in the slightest. ;D

I'm hoping the fine folks on this board are more hip than me, and can answer this question:
When Veronica is emailing Wallace, she writes that she's grown four inches and changed her name to London. Is the changing her name thing some pop culture reference that I just don't get?
Oh, two questions actually: Are there any theories as to what Mrs. Goodman (Gia's mom) was putting on the shelf before she walked over to talk to Rodney? That was such a creepy scene.

No help on the first. As to the second I guess I just assumed it was her shoes, but I didn't look carefully. I always feel that about 40% of the comments pass right over my head (pop-culturally speaking).
