I'M BAAAAACK yes yes folks I managed to claw my self out of the depths of inactivity and rejoin my fellow S'cubies once more for more baseball banter. Already 1 month into the season there are just too many headlines to talk about so just like last season feel free to post anything baseball related that takes yer fancy. For those who don't know me i'm a Cubs fan so be gentle Hopefully the thread will be as popular as the last one.

I'll let some of the other baseball fans answer you, but I think most of the baseball talk is simply being done on the main thread---which may make it hard for you to find. Still, go post over there when you can hang around for some replies sometime and find out what Rachael and Sara and Julia (not sure who the other primary baseballers are) want to do.

As Sue says, we do most of our baseball talking over on the Main Thread, but I'll be happy to drop by this one from time to time, as well. #wavey#

Meanwhile, I am basking in the best-in-the-National-League record of my Cardinals. Which I say with my fingers crossed because it is way too early in the season to get cocky...

hi folks! Don't worry Becky I can't see you guys loosing grip on the NL Central and although it is early on I think the Cards will win it once again this year. I'm still crying at the fact my Cubbies have so many injuries (once again !!). Losing the 5th on the bounce was tough... still we have a nice home stand against the Phillies to look forward to which starts in about 20/30 minutes (go Prior).
How about those Yankees huh? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

As I type, my husband is sitting in the bleachers in Wrigley Field - woo hoo! Go, Cubs! (I can root for the Cubs unless they're playing the Cards).

I am very mad at our lack of clutch hitting. 6th straight loss That was a truly bizarre game. I don't think I knew that not one but two runs can be forced in when the pitcher pings the ball off the runner's batting helmet. But now I do!

{{Karen}}
that brought a big smile to my face ;D
I am quite aware it is the Cubbies and last season was the first time we'd had back to back above .500 seasons in a long time, but as my team I expect wins! Even without Alou and Sosa if people stayed fit we could easily finish behind the Cards in the NL Central.

As a long-time Illinois resident, and having grown up with relatives who either loved the Cubs or the White Sox, I'm just pretty used to the disppointment. But maybe some year soon. Who knows? {{Dev}} Still rootin' for them anyway, I am.
