No! Not the dancing! Anything but the dancing! I didn't see it, as we were watching Chuck. I will have to figure out when (and on which station) this season repeats.

Also? This man was translated! I really like the undertaker. I love seeing all the teams different reactions to funeral rituals.

"Sometimes I hate hard science. That's not mature, I know; it's just how I feel." Heh. Even the visiting doctor from Japan was really hard on him. Poor guy!

For some reason I haven't been able to catch Bones much this year. And I know there have been a lot of complaints about the writing and direction the show has taken.
But last night's episode was interesting. Not very subtle (Brennan suddenly decides she wants a baby and thinks Booth's the perfect sperm donor; "hilarity" ensues) BUT the final 5 minutes:
If "Buffy" represented DB's grade-school acting education, and "Angel" represented high school through graduation; and "Bones" represents his college years then last night he graduated with honors, entered the master's program and graduated from that as well.
We always knew he could do charm but this was a side of DB I don't recall ever seeing. I was so choked up. He was so bewildered and anxious looking --- like a little boy. Really excellent emoting. [Sure, unrealistic with regard to her getting to go into the operating room, but still.]
I was all "what the heck?" with the Allie McBeal/Stewie storyline but it actually had a context! And I love that they didn't try to go back and wrap up the murderer of the week part. Because once Brennan realized that Booth was sick, everything else was totally irrelevant.
The episode was not without it's weaknesses but I'd recommend that anyone who has ever been a fan of DB make a point of watching it.

This plotline has been done so many times, but they managed to make it both fresh and relevant, so kudos.
Booth talking to Stewie was hysterical. Who knew that Booth was a Family Guy fan?

And the end was cheesy..... but still: Whoa! Will that play out in interesting ways or will it be totally resolved by the end of episode one next season? Sadly, either the writing or the acting was such that I still mostly only saw the characters as their usual selves, playing other parts. For the most part they were unable to "inhabit" the other roles believably.

For the most part they were unable to "inhabit" the other roles believably. I thought that was the point. All the people were the same (hence the no name changes) but in a different life path. A sort of AU, written by Brennan to kill four days while she waited for Booth. And I was gonna say: Two "hallucinations plus fake sex" season endings on Fox? I didn't think you could go to that well again so soon. As for the ending...I'm sorry, but again, NO. It's been done to death, so if the next words out of his mouth aren't, "Heh. Psych," then they'd better do one hell of a novel job with the tired "amnesia" soap opera bit.

I don't know ANYBODY who liked the Bones finale. And I was predisposed to like it because of Zach.
