Reverse interrogation. I like it. It was an intriguing and neatly done plot twist.

Love the title card humor in this episode. And the cute little "cantenna."

Uh oh. Detectvie Paxton, inconvenient cop. Of course Sam is along on your date with Michael, Fi. I don't see why everyone doesn't instinctively grasp the power of the threesome. Also? Deducting mohitos. Heee! ;D Heeeeeee! Michael brings the cops to the dectective trying to be on a stakeout. Oh! Is he gonna end up helping her anonymously (sort of) and maybe make her a sort of ally? Like Kate on AtS? "You know, Michael. I'd appreciate it, if when you stopped by, it wasn't only to lose your police tail!" "Mom, please, I'm supposed to meet Sam." "Fine! Pick me up some eggs. And some cigarettes!" Stacey Conolly. IRS. You go for it, Sam. I think Michael and Fi will understand if you can't always be completely faithful. Something tells me you've found your frustrated middle manager. Tats telling tales. And Mike and Sam getting sweet. Awwwww! OMG, Michael is spouting the same wisdom as Dawn in season 7! To fit in, just do what everyone else is doing! Michael is Dawn, Dawn was Michael in training! How did I not see this before?! "It's not big time, like you!" Flattery never fails, does it? "There was this thing. And then the gun didn't have an owner anymore." Ah ha ha ha ha ha!! How very very Sam that is. ;D Ha! Now they're gonna be low rent Jersey folk? Fun! (Well, except for Sam. Who is basically always Sam. Who is basically always Bruce Campbell. ) Also, nice mirror image of this guy to have Sam be all snarky to Michael. This will make the guy think of his own situation, yes? Heee! They are soooo disgusted to be pulling such a low-skill job. ;D Also, that's a difficult line to walk, saving this guy's ass from his own bone-head moves while still appearing to be, like, admiring and trying to learn from him. OK, it's official. Michael hurting himself is now a theme. That and yogurt. Yep, the two themes of Burn Notice are Michael hurting himself, yogurt and the Michael/Sam/Fi threesome. Three themes! The three themes of Burn Notice are Michael hurting himself, yogurt, the Michael/Sam/Fi threesome and a fanatical devotion to people thinking they can tell Michael what to do and being proved oh so very wrong. Crap! Ahem. OK, the four themes are . . . [/channeling Monty Python] Wait a minute. Business does not require the application of cucumber lotion? Now you tell me! Awwwwwww. IRS agent guy was a kid that Sam knew. Awwww. Bond with him again, Sam! Another awwwwww! Tommy wants to take care of them! (Coincidence, with two awwww moments back to back? I don't think so! Tommy is trying to be dad-like to Michael, like Sam tried to the child!IRS guy. And it leads to our third awwwww moment. Michael telling Tommy what's actually happening and working to keep him out of the mess that's gonna happen. Nice linking of storylines! Awesome use of superglue! And Fi's excellent explosive placement, of course. Oh, yeah! Tommy blocks them with the van! Ha!! "Hey, boss. I'm not sure about the plan. It's almost like you were trying to get us killed out here." ;D ;D ;D Nice. Michael kept character right up to the end with the guy, and implies that the drug dealers he's been hitting (or possibly the cops) are the ones doing this to him. And he makes sure the detective knows who was responsible for the bust. Awwwww!!! He has the dog. "I think you guys are gonna be OK without me." ;D Sweet! Oh, even better! I hadn't thought about the C-4 tracing stuff! Of course, now she has the temptation to get her bad guy using the crimes she was trying to get Michael for! Double nice! This totally has the feel of Kate and Angel on AtS. Sam. Drinking genius. Of course!! "Would it be OK to . . . call you?" Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! The moment they've been waiting for. And it's not the same moment, of course.

This episode is really bringing on the Lulz. I shudder to think what those cookies taste like with Madeleine smoking while she's making them. I'd appreciate it if when you stopped by it wasn't only to lose your police tail. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that one... Love Michael's exasperated expression on his NotDate. Sam's flirtation scheme blowing up in his face, LOL! OK, there was a definite vibe between Sam and Michael during the tattoo scene. I like seeing Michael observing and imitating the other guy and VOing about it. I mean, we already knew what he told us, but it was kind of neat to see him in the act of getting into character.

There was this thing, and then... the gun didn't have an owner anymore. Um... This IRS auditing the spy business is too funny. IRS guy is allergic to chocolate chip cookies, and is very fortunate that he is. Hee. Sam isn't really trying for a cover here. I wonder if Michael has debated the morality of teaching this bone head how to be a better criminal. Sam's finally got his in with IRS man. Aww... Head criminal guy looks really familiar. That's some spiffy split screen magic here. C4 as a calling card. Heh. Aw... cute doggie. Michael vs Moon Bloodgood has reached a stalemate. Sam and Stacey bonding. Aww... Fuzzy naval. LOL. Michael and Fiona get their date. And Michael is still hung up on getting his job back. I have the feeling that Michael's not going to be able to move forward until he lets that dream go.

OK, the actor who played the head criminal guy was also on ER. That's why he looks familiar.

We're getting more rift between Michael and Fi. Was inevitable, I gues. Heee! "You're the guy! You have to help me!" "I'm not the guy." ;D Heee! No smiley face on the text. Where's the love, Barry? Where's the love?! This is a really intriguing client / case. Heeeeeeeeee! "Shannon Park. Murderer, traitor. Probably not an alien." ;D More intriguingness. Diego Garza, the spy Michael's looking for. Very different character. So, unusual client, unusual agency/spy person. Are we gonna turn out to have a very unusual villain, too? Maybe she'll actually be an alien! OMG, Sam as the team bonding trainer guy? Awe- some! Also? "Have they all been taken?" "Ye-ah. To the conference room." Funny! ;D "Thou shalt not lie about ice cream cake?" Awwwww. Michael just being so kind to crazy client when he has his melt-down in the office? Is actually really sweet. [tangent] Mmmmmmmmm, pretty car is extremely pretty [/tangent] Hmmmm. Fi and Sam are taking this all a bit too casually, I'm thinkin'. Amateur hour it is not, methinks. Yeah. The murderer/traitor woman? Sounds damn serious. *punch* "You can't talk to him, when he gets like that!" Michael really knows this guy rather well, doesn't he . . . And Fi really knows how to speak right to his delusions. "If the problem is on the client side, then we're protected!" and "You really think you're gonna keep your job?" You know, this is one of the more . . . accurate/realistic cons they've done. I can see these lines working, for example. Awwwww. Sam. Yes, you actually are kind of a sweetheart. Nice writing and acting job for "Spenser on meds" - you can still see his basic personality is not changed, he's just not manic or delusional. And he's also got that little bit of fogginess, that slightly flatter affect of a damped down brain. Plus? He's really right about Michael being lucky to be surrounded by friends he can trust. Back to Diego. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Screen-name "MichaelheartsDiego"?! Ah ha ha ha ha!! I think Diego already knew you were one of the good guys, Michael. But he's tired. And not wanting to get involved. It's what he wants, Fi. And he really means it. And she knows. And she's freaked and panicing but trying to stay with him, but . . . But she also sees how potentially/probably doomed it all is, I'm thinking.

"Everything back here is look but don'ttouch."
Are people in this show always so sunburned? They look as if they'd have to sleep in huge tanks of aloe vera gel!
Julia, been watching for weeks, and wanting to ask that since the the first ep

Heh! Violence is often foreplay for Fi. Messy, ouchy, foreplay, but foreplay none the less. But not so much, this time, eh? Heeee! Agent to the spies? **snicker** "The enemy of your emeny is your financial opportunity." Lots of yogurt eating! **takes multiple drinks** "Forgiveness is a process." This is gonna be a good ep for snappy phrases, I can tell. Michael nabbed! And the guy he was talking to? Why grab them both? Ah, just 'cuz he was talking to Michael. Wonder if he's gonna appreciate that Mike saved him in the van or just really hate him for getting him into this mess? My money is on hate him. "Wearin' my teeth kickin' heels." Yep. I was right about the snappy phrases. Heh! And now they're running thru the swamp, with the guy bitching him out all the way. ;D Oh, Madeline. Just let them get to work saving Michael. Heeee! I love her threatening Sam. "You call me, or God is my witness I will smother you in your sleep!" He actually looks nervous. Follow Michael, Beck. Mmmmmm. Fi with a big gun. Tasty. "Oh great, a drunk with a gun. This calls for subtle." "I can do subtle. I don't like to, but I can." And then what she does? Heeeeee! Yeah, that's subtle, Fi. ;D Fan out and get grabbed. "Don't! We need him alive. You want to hit him again?" While Fi and Sam argue, Maddie is gonna get him to talk, isn't she. "I have never once, ever, seen them make anyone suffer." Heh! Boatloads of hostiles and the Russian word for hardass. ;D "The men who work for you. If you were taken out, what would they do?" "Shoot the bastards who did it!" "Really? You really think so?" Dude! Too. Much. Improvisation! (Boy, Michael really is feeling guilty about getting this guy into this mess, isn't he? Breaking cover to go get him again and all.) All them guns comin' after them? I think it's time that Fi and her explosives showed up. "You know, I should have shot you when you first interrupted my coffee." "Let's not dwell on missed opportunities." I like his musings on spies and how delaying and retreating and so has no shame. It's all about the results. Far more practical for a role that is usually working in secret and often alone. Choose your ground, prepare it ahead of time, use surprise. Heh! Leading all them out of the swamp and the guy all "not enough money in the world". Also? Looks like Michael's got another friend, eh? He joins the ranks of Barry the money launderer and the crazy arms dealer with a big ol' man-crush on Michael.

Choose your ground, prepare it ahead of time, use surprise. Me, too. AKA Seymour! I've been wondering if we're going to see him this season. ... I've been finding the portrayal of Michael and Fi's relationship this season really interesting. It seems like so often on TV there's some sort of random deus ex machina to keep a couple apart. It seems less common for there to be real actual major differences in what they want out of life that's doing it, and especially for both people to be aware of it. What I keep coming back to in my head during their scenes alone together is the one in the restaurant where he says that this is the moment he's been waiting for and she quietly says it's the moment she's been waiting for too - only of course they want opposing outcomes. It reminded me of what has happened in the relationships of some of my friends. I think they have both been doing an excellent job of portraying the relationship's nuances this season.
