Part II
Ah, Ben and Locke made it over to the dock during daylight. So I guess they aren't the ones who shot at the Losties.
Poor Ben, Sun clocked him with a paddle. Boo hoo.
I've found sometimes that friends can be significantly more dangerous than enemies. Um, only if you repeatedly fuck with them. I'm thinking that Ben doesn't understand the concept of friendship.
Caesar is one armed? I think I missed that. ETA: Oh, "unarmed" not "one-armed." Duh. The only place Ben can summon the monster is from his house. Is that what we saw before?
What do I want to be judged for? For killing your daughter. Ooh! Burn!
Flashback.
Ben brings Alex to the camp. Ah, Ben was supposed to just kill Rousseau, not steal Alex. So why did he do what he did?
Ben had orders. So there is some kind of hierarchy among the others. It's not an autonomous collective.
Also, Widmore ages when he's on the island, while Richard doesn't. Are there any other Others who don't age? I can't tell.
Ben objects to killing a child. This must be the root of the rift between Ben and Widmore.
And Widmore does eventually kill Alex. Interesting.
Maybe Alex represents an opportunity for Ben to reclaim his innocence.
Present. Haunted Barracks.
Locke asks about The Others living in The Barracks. Excellent question. Ben evades the question. Dammit!
What does the island want.
This house is decidedly spiderweb and dust free for having been abandoned for 3 years.
Sun! And there's Frank. Hee! I get tremendous satisfaction out of Ben being freaked out..
Ben doesn't remember the Losties being part of the DHARMA Initiative.
Ben gets freaked out again some more. AWESOME.
I wonder if this is his judgment.
The music wants you to be really, really scared right about now.
Nice little wave from Locke. Hee.

What, no preview???
I will be seriously peeved if Desmond and Penny's kid got killed in the crossfire or something. Or Penny. That is, if Ben resurfaced and came after them.
I have the feeling that Ben was expecting to be killed by Old Smokey and would have welcomed it.
G.
Huh. I had a preview. I agree that Ben would have welcomed death. Hell, I'd have welcomed his death too.

"What lies in the shadow of the statue." OMG, is the whole flippin' plane full of more wacky Island Adventurers?!? **hopes this means we get to find the giant four toed statue again** "You alright?" "Never better." Ha! This is all the layers and layers underneath the temple, yes? So, has he found the original Egyptian layer or something? Oh! Anubis? And the smoke monster!!!! **bounces excitedly** Smokey!! And he's standing there like Charlton Heston as Moses or something, seeing his daughter's life flash before his eyes. Now, is smokey gonna eat him? Alex!? WTH?! Is Alex gonna eat him? Zombie!! "It was all my fault." "I know." OMG, this is awesome!! Now he has to be Locke's little minion? **dies from the squeeful happiness** I'm wondering if they're referring to either the Temple or the hole in the ground Ben and Locke went into; it would make a certain amount of sense, at least to me, for the Temple to be near the statue. Can't. Hardly. Wait.

Part III
Reaction shot. Reaction shot. Reaction shot.
As long as the dead guy says that there's a reason, then I guess everythings going to be just peachy.
Frank acts as the voice of reason.
Does Locke really know about how to find Jin, or is he just bullshitting? Maybe he's just making an educated guess.
Frank leaves.
Locke acts like a nagging parent and Ben acts like a petulant child. Hee.
Descent into hell the wardrobe.
Now
Pool of water. That must be where the Smoke Monster lives. I've seen a scene like this before. But I can't remember from what film.
Draining the bathtub.
Alex and Ben. Alex is about 5ish here.
Ben and Widmore. You can cut through the tension with a knife.
Now Widmore broke the rules.
So... Widmore just left the island by sub and not the frozen Donkey Wheel?
Penny's mom is an "outsider" so she must have been born and grown up entirely off the island then. Probably with dad mysteriously coming and going on "business trips" Why did Widmore decide to pursue a relationship with Penny's mom and have a life off the island, I wonder?
Widmore wanted Alex dead, not the island. Why does Ben think this?
The Others don't seem to know what the island really wants anymore than we do. They're sort of...divining it. Like oracles.
I hope you're right, Benjamin. Because if you aren't, and it is the island that wants her dead, she'd be dead. And one day, you'll be standing where I'm standing now. You'll be the one being banished. And then you'll finally realize that you cannot fight the inevitable.
I'll be seeing you, boy. Yikes. That's bitter.
It seems like Ben pulled a coup of some kind.
Haunted Barracks.
Ben's all put out because Locke did something without consulting him.
Sun tries to figure out why Locke is alive.
I've seen this island do miraculous things. I've seen it heal the sick, but never once have I seen it do anything like this. Dead is dead. You don't get to come back from that. Not even here. So the fact that John Locke walking around scares the hell out of me. Is Ben lying here (and why would he lie about this)? Or is he just not privy to some of the things that we have seen? Or are things not as they seem?
Smoke Monster approaches. Oh, it's only Locke. Heh.
It's not a train, John. It doesn't run on a schedule. Hee.
Locke knows where the Smoke Monster lives, but Ben doesn't (or he claims he doesn't).

Part IV
Locke is... making rope.
Locke and Sun.
On the docks. The morning after. So now we're going to see how Ben got so beat up.
Ben chats with Widmore. Very smug. Widmore's been trying to go back to the island ever since he was banished.
Yeah, Ben was going to kill Penny.
Name of the boat: Our Mutual Friend. Neat.
Ben, Locke, Sun go on a nature walk.
How is it that you know where you're going. How does that work exactly? The knowing. Did it come to you gradually or did you wake up one morning suddenly knowing the answers to the mysteries of the universe? Excellent Question. Also, I always thought that it worked the same way with Locke as it did with Ben. But Ben doesn't seem to think so, or he's feigning ignorance (although I don't know why he would).
Yeah, Ben doesn't like being on the other end of people who refuse to answer questions. Serves him right.
Now you know what it was like to be me. Touche.
Ah, they're going to the Temple.
Wait, I thought Ben didn't remember what happened to him. Unless that's just what he's been told.
Oh, that's just the wall. I wonder what's inside.
Going under the temple. Ben does not like that idea.
Locke sends Ben first. This is Ben's judgment.
Ben wants Desmond to know he's sorry. So Desmond's not dead. And is Ben really sorry? Or does he just want Desmond to know that. And sorry for what exactly?
The docks. I guess we're about to find out.
Ben blows Desmond away. Crap!
But he proceeds to give the villain justification speech instead of just blowing Penny away.
Does Penny know who Ben is?
Saved by the child. Ben has a real thing about children.
Desmond's not dead! Or even very injured! And he whales on Ben! Boo yah!!!

Coda
Frank back on the smaller island.
OK, his name really does sound like La Penis. How unfortunate. LOL.
Illana and Caesar declare that they have the conch.
What is in that Crate they're protecting?
What lies in the shadow of the statue? Huh? In the shadow of the Four Toed Foot?
What is up with Illana?
Locke and Ben have stumbled onto the set of Indiana Jones.
Ben's choice: either leave the island or let my daughter die. Except she's not even your fucking daughter, you bastard.
Ben falls through the floor. OK, that was straight out of Indiana Jones.
Here comes the Smoke Monster.
Hieroglyphs on the walls. Which is news to Ben.
What on Earth is that picture? I can't make it out.
Here comes the Smoke Monster. Dude. This is AWESOME.
Ben's life flashes before his eyes. Just like it was with Mr. Eko. And then the Smoke Monster leaves just like that.
DeadAlex!
SmokeMonster!Alex gives Ben a stern talking to.
Locke lowers a rope. Convenient that it took just the right amount of time to find it.
It let me live.

I think I'm going to have to watch that again. Also, I'm starting to think there's got to be a Widmore centric episode at some point, because his true motives are still a mystery.

Horsey! Ooooh! Camp of the Hostile!Others. Jacob wanted it done, the Island chooses who the Island chooses. **sighs over teh pretty pretty of Richard**Whoa. And it was Charle Widmore who told Benry all about how he was a special special Island boy. Locke. Ha!! Going back to be judged, "you don't even have a word for it" (condescending much?). The "monster". Oooooooh! I'm glad to see you've got your priorities straight. And I think he said that "*we* don't even have a word for it." Which is interesting.

Damn. When did Locke grow a brain? He needs to be strangled and resurrected more often. Hee. Totally. Although I'm wondering if his brain has been hijacked and he's channeling something, what with the stern resolve, clear headedness, sudden epiphanies, and all.

"As long as the dead guy says there's a reason, I guess everything's gonna be peachy." **loves on Lepetus** Go back to the plane, fix the radio. Yeah. Like that's gonna work. Ben has something to do first. Better get to it, then! The Magic Closet!!! Yay!!! **bounces** I'm thinkin' this is why the Hostile!Others "moved to town", so to speak.A drain hole?? "I'll be outside." ? What. The. Fuck. Charles leaving New Otherton. Ah, he "broke the rules" (left the island, had a child with an "outsider"). But Benry won't be "selfish". Ha! You'll be standing where I am. You'll be banished. Ha ha ha ha ha!! Heeeeeee! And Locke just left, messing with Benry's head. Yeah, trust Benry when he says that Locke was dead, he would indeed know, seeing as how he killed him and all. Ha! Tells Sun he didn't know Locke would get re-alived. I love how we're seeing each lie spun out by him, how easily he does it. Ha! Scares the living hell out of me. I don't even believe that! Something I can't control. Aaaaand, it's Locke. "I suppose we'll have to go to it." "I don't know where it is." "I do." OMG, I love you Locke!! **kisses Locke's shiny shiny head** Was it there before they built that house, I wonder? And who's house was that during the DHARMA days?

OMG, Benry had a conscience. He didn't kill Rousseau, and I think he actually took the baby to save it from a crazy mother. And he also protected her from, I think, (came in late) Charles Widmore (who later, indirectly, had her killed.
Ben and Locke's dialogues are wonderful. I really find myself wishing that Old Smokey will spare Ben's life; i've gotten accustomed to his evil machiavellian face...Heeee! We could have the all Ben and Locke show. It would be hi-larious!! ;D ;D

I would love to see them do Vaudeville. ;D
