I suppose the main question could/will be: which leader should be followed?

Zen!Jack is knocked out. Ouch, Charles, dude!! What's with the kicking someone when they're down? Oooooh. And now Eloise gets to start her her long trek of "oh noooooooes". Heh! Where the hell are they from? Meanwhile, back in the present. Pretty pretty Richard!! Ha! "I brought dinner." Something different about you. Well, yes. Because he's formerly dead guy! I thought they were your people. (Ha! Owed, Ben!) Richard is an "advisor", eh? And yeah, for a very very long time. "Because, I watched them all die." As part of the Dharma purge thingy, perhaps? Or is he talking about them in the camp after Daniel died and they got killed then?

And we see the same scene from a different perspective. I find Kate has a better .. WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GET HORSES?
... grip on the situation.
And Ellie starts to read the journal, partially believing what he said.
Widmore. Looked better back then, by far.
And we cut back to two years ago..
Ship in a bottle? Being worked on by Richard. Who still looks the freaking same.
"Errand to run" as he shows up at their beach camp with a pig on his shoulders.
Sun and a very dejected-looking Ben.
"Very very long time" Hah! I find Ben more and more amusing as time goes on. His delivery.
"I watched them all die" is not the most... reassuring thing he could have said, now

Picking up from where we left off.
But now we see Kate and Jack's reactions. Oh! And they get clocked by Widmore! This is when Widmore was galloping back to see newly healed Ben?
Now Ellie's got the journal. And so it begins...
Ellie and Widmore. Discovering that there's a wild card.
30 years later.
The Black Rock? Ah, Richard playing with a ship in a bottle.
The Others are now on the beach. And Locke brought a peace offering.
Richard is perplexed. This is getting to be a familiar expression. He notices something different about John. Is this like an aura, or just how the rest of us are noticing that he's more confident and so forth?
I have a purpose now. Hmm.
Ben and Sun bring up the lead.
Richard is an adviser. And has been. For a really, really long time. (I'll say!) That really clears things up, Ben. Thanks.
Richard watched the Losties die. Is that what really happened or did it just seem that way from his perspective? Or is he assuming they died because they were involved in the DHARMA Initiative and lots of them got killed?
Or... did the Losties "die" but actually got transported to the future at a point that hasn't happened yet?

And Richard seems not at all bemused by the idea that Sun has a husband that she misplaced around about the time she was born.
And Locke does seem all sorts of confident and happy now, doesn't he?
"Don't you trust me here with my former people?"
"In that case, I'd love to come!"
And we cut back to thirty years before, again.
I don't think you can undo things, Jack. This place doesn't seem to support dimensional forking. And you're talking about wiping out some of the most useful and happy times of her life from existence, Jack.
Enter Ellie.
Ellie remembers Farraday from the far past. And wants to understand what the frilly hell is going on.
And Jack is apparently versed in time travel.
"Way for you to take it all back" By the time she becomes and older woman, she understands it's all futile, and that she's sending her baby boy to his death.
"He thinks he does" with such a complete "So full of shit" look on her face.
Sheeit, the Village of the Darned is built on top of Jughead?
"Coming and going will be relatively simple"
Might be more complicated than that" and we cut to Sawyer.
Radzinskii is such a twitchy bastard. which is sort of understandable, after the days' events.
and Juliet just sitting there, with a "we are so screwed, ha ha!" look on her face.

They're all dead, but that's in the future!past. So, there's room to maneuver, eh? Ooooh, the compass. So, now Locke chooses it. Ha! "Afraid of a coup?" "I'm not afraid of anything you can do anymore." Ben is sooooo pouting, isn't he? So, Locke is all "this must be for a reason" and Jack is all "we can make things the way they should have been". Are they converging? Eloise, putting things together, are you? "How is this my handwriting, if I can't remember writing it?" Oh, he tells her there's a way for her killing her son not to have happened. Which is maybe why she sent Daniel on his path . . . "Does he know what he's talking about?" "He thinks he does." OMG!!! New Otherton Dharmaville is on top of the bomb? Ah ha ha ha ha! You know, with all the smacking around and threats and what not, I'm starting to get cranky with all of the folks on this island.

And we see the same scene from a different perspective. I find Kate has a better .. WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GET HORSES? ... grip on the situation. I think I agree with ... THEY SAVED UP THE HORSE STAMPS THEY GOT WITH EVERY POLAR BEAR PURCHASE!! . . . you on that one. MMmmmm. Yes. Yes he does. He is rather adorably pouty. ;D It is not particularly cheerful, is it. But Locke is so sanguine about it all.

Sun is contemplative. The compass. Setting off on a journey. If there's a way for Sun and Jin to be together again, if there's a way to save the Losties, Locke will find it. Somehow, I don't think he's being straightforward there. He means it, but not in the way it seems. Flashback. Kate and Jack. About whether they can undo the future/past. Jack's focused on all the lives that could be saved. Kate's concerned about whether their old lives were actually better. It's a quality vs quantity issue. It was not all misery. Yeah... But enough of it was. Hmm... I'm with Kate on this one, despite all the shit that's gone down. Death is not the worst thing that can happen. Ellie is willing to help. Now, she remembers Daniel. And she's willing to help. Jack and Kate mistaken for DHARMA, much like Sayid was mistaken for being a Hostile/an Other. Where the fuck is Sayid anyway? Ohh, the bomb is UNDERNEATH The Barracks!?!? HOLY CRAP. Back at The Barracks. Parallels with Sawyer and Juliet being beaten up. Razinsky wants to pull rank? Or stage a coup? Are you worried more about the work or your people, Razinsky? Cause it's a little vague.

"Don't. Only gonna get more people hurt"
Yeah, he found James' weak spot.
"I'm gonna kill you" A promise, there.
And they found out about Hugo. And he's sadly not inconspicuous.
Chang watches Hugo leave, after having been warped by Daniel, and being told that they're all gonna die.
"There's no such thing" "Who's the president of the United States?"
"Okay, dude, we're from the future"
It's because you tried to kill him fifteen-odd years before, perhaps?
She's already preggers with Daniel.
"Love can be complicated" yet another theme of this show.
And Richard doesn't know where Locke has been gone.
And Locke is throwing his weight around. I wonder why Richard is hesitant to take him to see jacob?
Going to the smack-plane? yep.
Locke kicking things into motion for himself.
"Who is that man, John?" asks Ben. yet he already knows.
*cue twilight zone music*

Matthew wants me to tell you that as they approached the plane, I said to him "They're going to smoke heroin until this all makes sense."

I am seriously hating this Radzinski Dharma-dude. "Whatever you tell 'em, they ain't gonna believe you." Oh, Phil. You are on my list too. Right next to Radzinski. You guys make me almost OK with the Dharma dyin' that is to come. Hugo!! Not Hugo!! Also? Save Sawyer and Juliet!! Dr Chang! "So, you fought in the Korean war?" "There's . . . no such thing." "Alright dude, we're from the future." #rofl# Yay, the doc is believing them! So now they have allies in each group!! Yay!! I'm finding Richard's role more and more intriguing with each new revelation. (Also, he is strangely less eyelinered!!) Ooooh, rebel leader!John. Always doing things differently. Take him to Jacob. What plane? Ha! I love how confuzzled Ben. Ha!!! John is sending Richard to tell John the stuff that got John to this place. "Who is that man, John?" "Me." ;D ;D ;D

More Sawyer getting beaten up by Razinsky.
For some reason 3 years of acquaintance isn't enough for Razinsky.
They've discovered Sawyer's deception. Twas a dumb idea anyway.
Hurley grabbing supplies. Yikes... I'm so nervous.
Spotted by Dr. Chang.
Meeting up with Miles. Hurley wants to stage a rescue. Caught by Dr. Chang.
Aw, Hurley trying to come up with his fake backstory. Dude, these are the questions Hurley was worried about back when this whole thing started!
Miles finally admits that Dr. Chang is his dad. Aw...
Back at The Others camp.
Widmore perplexed by Daniel looking an awful lot like him. Oh, it's just that he remembers seeing him in 1954.
Widmore and Ellie: love can be complicated. I'll say! Are they part of a Quadrangle of DOOM too?
Present: Richard, Locke, and Ben.
Richard wants a recap of the last three years. You got a couple of days?
Hmm, even Richard is intimidated by Jacob.
How does it work exactly, Ben?
Ah, they're going to the plane. The...drug plane? Yep, that's the one. Which Ben didn't know a thing about. Ah... this is the scene where Richard fixes Locke's leg.
Locke just looooves having the upper hand here. And Ben and Richard are very put out.

Is this like an aura, or just how the rest of us are noticing that he's more confident and so forth? I'm leaning toward something "happening" to Locke while he was dead. Something changed that Richard is picking up on. But that just means I'm probably totally wrong. **snerk** But at least it's our first official recognition that Richard is "different" from everyone else on the island. Oooooh!! I like this idea!!
