Title is clever. It's not just the bet, it's the way Angel was one of two, and now he isn't, and feels all nothing. And Gunn wants to be one of double, but is risky close to nothing. Double saving them from nothing.
... I maybe made more sense when it wasn't one in the morning.
Gunn selling his soul for his truck... makes scary much sense. Didn't think he had a future, so he traded it.
I find it intriguing to speculate on long term effects. Does killing the guy really invalidate teh contract? Can contracts be bought elsewhere?
But it sets it up interesting for Gunn's later deals. And makes earlier, choosing Angel Investigations, something to look at harder - what was he selling then? What did he think he was selling? What did he get?
Angel calls him family. Is sweet.
... Wes is in a real bad place. Not able to speak and nobody willing to listen anyway.
I hate it that they just all believe the bad guy. "it was all for nothing" You think? Couldn't possibly be bad guys lying? Well it was bad guys lying but they chose which lie they believe was being told. Wes went to lots of sources got lots of data, why believe one guy saying he changed one scroll?
He's gambled everything too, left with nothing.
Sad.
Good story though.
... though I can't help but notice that the makeup on the big TV with the upscaling HD box looks like, you know, makeup. Weird how quickly that dates.
