It's 47° out there, and windy. I guess now that we've achieved October, I ought to turn on the heat. Huh. *reconsiders not packing a jacket*

Huh. *reconsiders not packing a jacket* In general, unless one wants to buy a jacket as a souvenir, any travel to the Northern Tier after Labor Day pretty much year-round should include sufficient clothing that's layerable to resist 40F temperatures and rain. Just because, you know, cold fronts happen. Julia, chilly and grey here today, and I didn't get socks washed yesterday, darn.

Right yeah, I've survived the past two years up there at this time of year, but both those times I took a sweater/cardigan. I didn't pack it last night, but I suppose I'll throw it in there when I run home before starting my journey this afternoon.

Right, after I made ya'll think I was strange and pathetically shy for being so damn quiet at the first 'fest. But, I'm determined not to be shy tonight. Since it's just two people, it shouldn't be as overwhelming as S'fest was. Also, I'm sensing the drinkage of alcohol in my future. ;D

Should be a night made of awesomesauce.

What was the title of that lunatic piece of epic Spander by Lazulicat we were all reading way back when? I want to use it as an example of OTT OOC and my brain, she is not working whatsoever.
Julia, *le sigh*
Repossession.
And what a festival of crazy it was.

Back from errands. Windy, hot, dry, dusty. I ran around closing all the windows including the girls' rooms, and now I'm running the ac just to cool the house down. Then I'll put the thermostat back to 82° like a good little power-saver. On the plus side, the other book I wanted at Joann's was still there so I bought it with my other 50%-off coupon, and the vet had another case of catfood, so I don't have to remember to order more next week. I did the math this morning (two cats, maximum of 1¼ cans per cat per day for at least one month = $$$$ and ) and realised I was going to need at least one more to get past the cats' next appointment, just to be on the safe side. It's probably just as well I never got around to washing off my car earlier this week. So I can't see clearly through the windows. So what, big deal. Oh, and The Husband emailed me from work this morning in great excitement - the area of California he's been watching for weeks because somebody at the USGS thinks there might be a volcano (or some other interesting seismic occurance) coming up - had a 5.0 eq this morning, followed by a whole lot of smaller ones. Whatever makes him happy and keeps him off the streets.... Olancha, if anyone cares.

They pretty much owned me at Project Runway, but now that they review Mad Men and Glee? I worship at their altar. My favorite bit from the Glee review: Well, last night, after 14 years together, Tom was shocked to find that Lorenzo has been hiding his love for Heart all this time. Yes, Lorenzo got a little teary-eyed over that fantastic (and way too short) duet between Will and April and confessed that he was absolutely nuts for that song and has been for years. Tom will need some time to process that one.

I heard this on NPR this morning and had to refrain from yelling at my car radio: Daily sweets 'linked to violence' So, if kids eat a piece of chocolate every day, they grow up to be violent criminals? My daughters are going to be the next Bonnie and, um, other Bonnie? I'm going with the "utter nonsense" response. Anne, ravening hoards of teenage girls with PMS, anyone?
