Welcome to Part 1071 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread!(This may or may not be an accurate representation of the state of Monnie on her upcoming vacation) Wanna party like every night's Ladies Night? Visit our website for all sorts of party favors, fan-fiction, essays, and reviews, all written by our resident S'cubies.
If you have a spoiler on any unaired tv shows, movies, etc. please don't post them here--doing so will make us put a whammy on you that will have you praying to the porcelain god for weeks. We have a Spoiled Souls thread made just for all those bad little boys and girls.
Partying hard doesn't have to mean breaking the law. You can have just as much fun abiding by our Rules as you can breaking them, and this way we won't have to end you. I hate opening up a can of whup ass when I'm trying to get my party on, but that doesn't mean I won't do it.
Is taking on a hot debate about politics or religion what gets your rocks off? Then take that talk on over to our Open Topics thread, because partying that way in these parts is just not done.
Wanna talk TV? So do we! Join us in the I Love, Love, LOVE TV thread to discuss such shows as Supernatural, House, Fringe, Bones, and many others. It's Ladies Night every night in that section.
Go forth and party on!

Oh yes, it's ladies night, oh what a night!
**boogies around**
Me? I'm still giggling over Dean taking Cas to a den of iniquity. And smirking over the comment about absent fathers.

Well, my weekend was chock full o' cul-char! Friday night was the season opener for the MN Orchestra, and we had a very Russian night. Osmo Vänskä, conducting, of course and Stephen Hough soloing on piano (and recorded for a future CD of all-live recordings) on Tchaikovsky's Concert Fantasia. We also heard Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kijé Suite and selections from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. But Lola, you say, you always go to the Orchestra on Saturday night, what gives? Well, I moved it for this night to make room for . . . . the season opener gala of the MN Opera, sillies! It was Bizet's The Pearl Fishers and it was gorgeous, people, gorgeous!! I had never heard it before and my friend Laurie was right when she told us the music would delight us (it is one of her favorites). Simply lovely music, sets that were a blaze of color, costumes that dazzled (by Zandra Rhodes, no less), and singers that were almost uniformly excellent (Isabel Bayrakdarian as Leila, Jesus Garcia as Nadir, Philip Cutlip as Zurga, and Jonathan Kimple as Nourabad).

Hi!
I'm glad I have a new TV so I can watch Mad Men in the reclining comfort of my boudoir, I am.
Julia, even though it's not yet properly installed.

Will it be installed in time for tonight's ep or is it something to look forward to for next week? It's too low for comfortable viewing, and I'm at a stand-still trying to figure out how to raise the level; eventually I'll have it on a bracket shelf butdoing that now will have to be undone later. I may just restack the tables for now (there's a high Georgian Revival pecan table from Franklin's grandmother's house with a weird little green one I made underneath it, which used to hold the cable box; those can be reversed but I think it might be too high. Must cogitate upon these things. Julia, also the dvd player isn't hooked up. That has to happen, too.

We're brain-sharing! This is awesome! We will surround Spring and she will have no choice but to surrender on our trip. Since when has Spring not surrendered on a trip anyway? It's as natural to her as her predilection for purchasing those really flimsy-clasped brassieres. Vlad

Bwah. Great opener Monnie. Popping in to wave hi I'm drowning in work right now and just can't take time to play. I finished one script this weekend, two to go.
