I finished my new Supernatural video last night, and I got it uploaded to Youtube, but I checked it just now and the video and audio were all screwy so I had to delete it. I'm sure it was just some kind of mistake on my part, since I'm learning this new program. I'll see if I can get it uploaded tonight and I'll post it here when I do, for any of you who'd be interested in watching it. And speaking of which . . . the iMovie program that came with George(ina)? Blows my old vid-editing program out of the freaking water. I had no clue vid-making could be so easy and non-migraine-producing and carefree and fun. I made that video in two days, whereas with my old program and computer it would have probably taken me close to two weeks. Granted, I was only using clips from four episodes, but still. It's insane how much easier it is. The red, there (and really, the whole last paragraph) is why Once You Go Mac, You Never Go Back.

;D Well, the story behind the names is this: I was discussing on LJ how much I love my iMac, and I said I want to hug it and squeeze it and call it George. Which made me think hmmm, maybe I should name it George. But then I wasn't sure if it is male or female, so wasn't sure if it should be Georgina. Then again, who says I can't name a female computer George? Normal societal rules and customs do not apply to our love. This makes me giggle as the only Georgina I've ever known is the current Vicar of St. Benedict's, Lacey, ECA. Julia, she's a jolly good role model for a 'puter, too ;D

Staggering back onto the board after an "eventful" weekend. For anyone who isn't on my lj or facebook, this is the tale of my weekend, under the cut. Halloween was perking along. I had rehearsal Saturday morning and then ran a bazillion errands in the afternoon. Saturday night I was scheduled to work at Germain again for our fundraising booth. I did have a Halloween party I was invited to but since I had just turned in a $1200.00 check for costumes, I decided to go with the earning money option. I wore a french maid costume (recycling a costume from my production of Annie) and everything went well though I did hear a dozen versions of will you come up and clean my room later.
I woke up around 2:30 am and used the bathroom but couldn't go back to sleep. I tried every position and nothing worked. Then I started feeling nauseated and ended up throwing up (isn't this a lovely tale?) Pain kept getting worse and I started lying on the floor and various positions to try and ease the pain. My son Sam woke up and eventually I decided we had better go to the hospital because I was dying.
By the way, I hate hospitals, hate doctors, never go if I can help it. So . . . . I sort of knew I probably had some sort of kidney problem as the pain was in my left lower back and it probably was a kidney stone and I knew if I could deal with the pain it would eventually get better but man. Pain? Not so much fun. It felt like someone had a knife and was doing their best to repeatedly stab me in the back. Or what I imagine a knife would feel like.
Anyway, Halloween in the middle of the night in a crowded ER that was understaffed to begin with? When we got there a huge group was in one side of the room, a shirtless guy and his buddy on the other, various people scattered about. I was worse and as we were registering started having dry heaves, trying to vomit. Shirtless guy kept trying to help, really nice but I was out of it.
It took 3 hours before I was finally taken back. 3 hours of me dying with pain. I kept sliding out of the chairs, trying to find a position I could endure this with. Gah. Finally the nurse let me wait in a triage room that had a recliner I could stretch out in. Eventually the nurse examined me and I got a shot of pain killer which completely took all the pain away and put me in that drowsy half awake, half drugged out state. Cat scan (hold your breath, you may now breathe) accomplished and then back to wait in a room for another 3 hours. Most of which I was out of but finally, finally a doctor showed up, said yep kidney stone, still there but if you feel good enough you can go home.
I was so happy to get out of there. I was still feeling pretty bad most of yesterday but I think I finally passed the stone in the afternoon as I started feeling better late in the day.
So in conclusion, kidney stones suck and ER's are not nearly as much fun as they look on tv. Anyway, hope everyone had a much better Halloween then I did! Oh, wow. That is awful!! I don't know if it's even worse that you already knew what was causing the pain or not. I would just want to pull a House and grab the syringe out of the nurse's hand to shoot myself up, just to reduce the pain that much quicker.

So who watched Colbert last night? I think maybe Anne tapes and watches tonight (or maybe just watches the reruns that are on earlier in the evening. So I'll put it under a spoiler tag. Did you see that Colbertnation is now the OFFICIAL sponsor of the U.S. Speed-skating association. See it here: www.colbertnation.com/homeThe link to participate is on the top right of the page. I love that guy.

Well, there aren't a lot of Buffy Thanksgiving quotes, so I've gone with a rather unusual choice.

Errands have been erranded. Inspired by a remark made by my artistic cousin when I told her about the black All Hallows wreath, I bought assorted floral picks in silver, purple and red one to make a Goth Winter Solstice wreath, a bit later in the year. Should be fun. Heh. I'm also going to attempt dead angels, like the dead fairies Kitty and I made, just because I wanna. Also, I just laid out $56 to have one of my mom's watercolors professionally framed. It's of me and my dad, it's 53 years old and rather fragile, and it isn't like she's doing them anymore, ever, but still, that's a lot of money.

The whole dentisting thing is highly over-rated as an afternoon's amusement.
Julia, athough it's the getting there part of it which stinks the worst.

Well, there aren't a lot of Buffy Thanksgiving quotes, so I've gone with a rather unusual choice. No good Buffy quotes? Are you kidding me? *Ritual sacrifice with pie. *It is a sham, but it's a sham with yams. It's a yam sham. *I inflicted a lot of putrefying diseases on men when I was an avenging demon, and you look like you're getting all of them. *I'm saying that Spike had a little trip to the vet and now he doesn't chase the other puppies anymore. And the classic: *You made a bear! Undo it! Undo it! *
