;D Well, the story behind the names is this: I was discussing on LJ how much I love my iMac, and I said I want to hug it and squeeze it and call it George. Which made me think hmmm, maybe I should name it George. But then I wasn't sure if it is male or female, so wasn't sure if it should be Georgina. Then again, who says I can't name a female computer George? Normal societal rules and customs do not apply to our love. I think you should call it Gorgeous. ;D She is pretty hot lookin'. ;D

You need to impose an embargo on Lola. **shimmies around, rubbing up against Monnie . . . and her new computer . . . and, what the hell, Spring too . . . and just generally being sorta slutty**

So, I'm taping "V", figuring I'll watch it this weekend or so. Catching up on other TV and movies and so on. Is anyone watching it live? Are you liking it? How's Morena B doing? she is a creepy creepy turtle-woman!

So on last night's Castle I found the grand mother of all red herrings. Blue was hung from one ankle from the fire escape ladder: the other leg was crocked over level over a rung of the ladder.
Her hands were dangling free, not behind her back, but I was certain, certain, I tell you, that she was hung in a reference to the Hanged Man card.
and the show just DANCED all around that possibillity and never mentioned it. Blah. Some days it doesn't pay to obsessively symbol-hunt. They totally should have done that!!

Well, there aren't a lot of Buffy Thanksgiving quotes, so I've gone with a rather unusual choice. And it's attached to a tasty avatar, too.

Alrighty, here's my latest Supernatural video: Most excellent!! Loved the black and white past images juxtaposed with the full color “now”. As usual for your vids, I love love love the edits and comparisons. Like the synched up trunk openings and closings, or the two different uses for knifes and then wiping faces? Sweet! I liked how you repeated the moment where Dean looks over to the other car seat – so we compare the opening of the vid (Sam there and then gone) to the angsty middle (Sam just gone, period). And OMG, the match of moment to lyric for “my privacy is raped”, when the face changed to the devil-guy, and using that to springboard into the “future” scene between Dean and Dean and devil-in-Sam? Excellent!

whew, I thought I bent it!Yeah, that's one reason for the watch-a-thon; I want to see the old commercials one more time (especially the SciFi promos). We're getting it as an all-family treat. Julia, I'm possibly going to bulk erase the tapes, or just move them out to the barn I am so buying that DVD set. Even if I have to sell blood to do so. Anna's going to be working at Best Buy starting soon (she has training Saturday at 7am!) and we are so taking advantage of her employee discount. Julia, for we have been discouraged by our lack of Farscape far too long

I am so buying that DVD set. Even if I have to sell blood to do so. We're buying it. This family owes me, dammit. Now, when I'd have time to watch TV, that's another matter... I wonder if Kitty would like Farscape? After we watch seasons 1-3 of BtVS, though. I want to think, who wouldn't like Farscape? But then I've know a few folks who didn't take to it for some insane reason, so I try not to judge. ;D ;D

Enjoying Spring's look back posts so much that I'm bringing over yesterday's, which occurred at the very end of the previous part and so may have been missed by many. Ye Olde PostFrom Part 2!
People were still learning how to use the board, and Vlad switched from his William the Bloody persona to his Vlad persona, showing Nan how his avatar changed when he did that:Using this picVlad wrote:Rob shows up a little while later and comments to Vlad:Ah, Rob. I miss you.

Alrighty, here's my latest Supernatural video: Most excellent!! Loved the black and white past images juxtaposed with the full color “now”. YAY! I'm so glad you caught what I was trying to do there with the black & white vs. the color. I was pretty damn proud of the trunk scenes syncing up. I tried it out on a whim, thinking it'd never go together and then it did and I was all happyface about it. Thank you! Lots of credit goes to the awesomeness of my iMovie editing program. If it weren't for that I doubt I would have had the patience to do those scenes--this software lets you reverse clips, so it made those opening and closing scenes of Dean looking over at the empty passenger seat a heck of a lot easier to do. Squee!! I'm so freaking glad I got my point across with those scenes. Thanks for the feedback, Lola!

Staggering back onto the board after an "eventful" weekend. For anyone who isn't on my lj or facebook, this is the tale of my weekend, under the cut. Halloween was perking along. I had rehearsal Saturday morning and then ran a bazillion errands in the afternoon. Saturday night I was scheduled to work at Germain again for our fundraising booth. I did have a Halloween party I was invited to but since I had just turned in a $1200.00 check for costumes, I decided to go with the earning money option. I wore a french maid costume (recycling a costume from my production of Annie) and everything went well though I did hear a dozen versions of will you come up and clean my room later.
I woke up around 2:30 am and used the bathroom but couldn't go back to sleep. I tried every position and nothing worked. Then I started feeling nauseated and ended up throwing up (isn't this a lovely tale?) Pain kept getting worse and I started lying on the floor and various positions to try and ease the pain. My son Sam woke up and eventually I decided we had better go to the hospital because I was dying.
By the way, I hate hospitals, hate doctors, never go if I can help it. So . . . . I sort of knew I probably had some sort of kidney problem as the pain was in my left lower back and it probably was a kidney stone and I knew if I could deal with the pain it would eventually get better but man. Pain? Not so much fun. It felt like someone had a knife and was doing their best to repeatedly stab me in the back. Or what I imagine a knife would feel like.
Anyway, Halloween in the middle of the night in a crowded ER that was understaffed to begin with? When we got there a huge group was in one side of the room, a shirtless guy and his buddy on the other, various people scattered about. I was worse and as we were registering started having dry heaves, trying to vomit. Shirtless guy kept trying to help, really nice but I was out of it.
It took 3 hours before I was finally taken back. 3 hours of me dying with pain. I kept sliding out of the chairs, trying to find a position I could endure this with. Gah. Finally the nurse let me wait in a triage room that had a recliner I could stretch out in. Eventually the nurse examined me and I got a shot of pain killer which completely took all the pain away and put me in that drowsy half awake, half drugged out state. Cat scan (hold your breath, you may now breathe) accomplished and then back to wait in a room for another 3 hours. Most of which I was out of but finally, finally a doctor showed up, said yep kidney stone, still there but if you feel good enough you can go home.
I was so happy to get out of there. I was still feeling pretty bad most of yesterday but I think I finally passed the stone in the afternoon as I started feeling better late in the day.
So in conclusion, kidney stones suck and ER's are not nearly as much fun as they look on tv. Anyway, hope everyone had a much better Halloween then I did!
