Culled all the never used, never will cookbooks and dusted the bookshelves. Now if I can only keep The Husband from wanting to keep them, not that he actually follows recipes anyway... Development chemists have interesting philosophies of cooking, to say the least. Anne, dusty, sneezy, tired, but I found the odd little cookbook illustrated by Tasha Tudor, behind some big books, so yay me ETA: Low last night 48°, currently 83°, no wonder my sinuses hate me I was hoping you'd get some air-clearing out of the low that's over most of California right now, but it seems to be hung up a little north of you. Julia, all those east-west trending mountains confuse me.

Maybe I'll just have another cup of tea while I try to decide, and by then, Kitty will be home... Meh. And the cookbooks are going in a box, when I find one, until RSWP when Daria will go through them and pick out the ones she wants.

midnight and someone set the fire alarm off. I really, really, really want to move to a different building. A smaller building. With far fewer people per front door. and none of them with visitors who think this shit is funny.

I think they've fixed teh alarm now. I thought that ten minutes ago but it seems to be staying fixed this time.
Now I have 5 hours to get 8 hours sleep. but on the plus side with the unexpected sleep earlier I'm probably in credit, sleep wise.
ETA 3 seconds after posting: nope, spoke too soon.

I just recommended over in Reading Recommendations an awesome and hilarious and cracky SPN series fic. Go and read it NOW, if'n that kind of thing floats your boat. Also? I just got a cd by a new singer by the name of Laura Marling, and I am instantly in love. My current favorite Castiel music vid uses one of her songs ("My Manic and I"), and I loved the song so much I bought her cd from Amazon, and it is gorgeous and folksy and so beautifully lyrical. So, if you're into music like that and looking for some new music, give her a shot, you won't regret it.

NCIS: odd episode--just seemed a bit random. Question: Were they trying to move forward on a Tony/Ziva relationship?

Castle had some fun bits in the last ep - I liked all the cops sitting around drinking tea and fending off cats as they questioned the poor woman whose door they busted down. I think it is official. I must to be getting myself a new computer. **sigh** The old laptop is just having too too many issues - I think it's just hitting the wall. Perhaps this very week I shall head down to my local store and get, just perhaps, and feel free to gasp as I type it . . . . a used Apple laptop.

Castle was fun, and the bits with the chief and his old case were very good, I thought. The characters are good in general; it's one of the things I enjoy about the show. That and NF, who has certainly found his niche.

Just wanted to say a quick hey and apologize for my lack of posting the past few days; I've been juggling a few different projects at work (why, oh why do all the deadlines always come due at the same time?), and when I get home at night my brain's usually pretty fried. Hopefully once I get this one article laid out and off to Kate I'll get a little breathing room.

#wavey# I am up. The thing about trying to get 8 hours sleep in 5 is it doesn't work even without the repeating nightmares about being trapped in a burning building, and the waking up convinced the fire alarm just went off again. (I dreamed 3 Doctors. Usually even 1 Doctor could save the world. This time we got stuck until I found the right rope to pull and made the whole roof open and saved everyone. So I guess that worked out. But it was not fun in the middle.) I should probably go get dressed and all that now. Mornings.

The husband watched Star Wars this evening, so no new ep of Castle for me. Found a couple of old shipmates on facebook. One of them lives nearby. Crazy!

I'm Portlanding on Thursday (Franklin is doing radio at KBOO) and wondering how much I'll need to schlep. Julia, hoping to getto the Portland Art Museum to look at the impressionists
