Welcome to Part 1080 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread. where we never fear Canadians.
Canada is a lovely place, but we've got some good stuff right here. Got a hot TV show you're watching obsessively? Discuss it in the I Love, Love, LOVE TV thread for some awesome TV talk, as well as show threads for Torchwood, Doctor Who, Dollhouse, and our ongoing love of our original shows: Buffy and Angel.
Or the vast (maybe not as vast as Canada, but still) plethora of loveliness on our website! We've got fanfic, pretty pictures, and reviews (like our brand spanking [if a little WAY behind] new Dollhouse reviews written by ME).
However, we will drop you in the Canadian wilderness, sans flashlights, with a rutting moose if you post spoilers in this thread. They belong in the Spoiled Souls thread; if you want to talk about casting spoilers, the little ghosty button above is for you and if you want to talk about a show that just aired, please mark in BIG LETTERS.
Want to chat about issues (global or domestic)? Check out our Open Topics Thread. No biting!
Enjoy, S'cubies!

Philosophical question: is the lack of GRAR resulting from not trying towatch SGU worth not being able to bitch about discuss it on various and sundary message boards?
Julia, still have some residual grar from last week, yo. Good thing Caprica's coming in December

I just rewatched Something Blue. That's my go-to episode for cheering up.
Marc Blucas was really good in the scene in which Buffy explains that she's not engaged. Everyone is so good in this episode.
Two questions:
Does anyone know what JM was slurping from that novelty mug? In the student films I've worked on fake blood is not a tasty substance.
Did anyone here watch Passions? Was Timmy (he's a doll that was brought to life, right?) really down a well? What was that show like? I'm just curious as to why Spike was so crazy about it.

Ah, Canadian jokes. Are they ever not funny? I think not!

The good news is, the cats let me sleep until 5:45. The bad news is, I couldn't get back to sleep after I fed them. So I'm up, showered, dressed, booted Hodgman, brought in the paper and considering what tea to brew. I'll have a nap after lunch. Or after I do the marketing. Or whenever I run out of steam.

Joseph Gordon-Leavitt's opener for SNL was one of the better opening bits on record.
My goodness he twinkles when he smiles, doesn't he? Very talented and Charismatic.

I remember reading they used red Koolaid - thick of course, so that it was sickening sweet. I never watched Passions. I assume Timmy really was down in a well, but I can't confirm. I know that Passions had a reputation for being very campy and dramatic. So I guess the "over the top" dramatic fits Spike's tastes. And metaphorically, it works - no one takes"Spike and his Passions" too seriously at first. And I always thought the Timmy references, and Spike's interest in Timmy, were meant to relate to Spike's own "wanna be a real boy" condition.

Good morning, S'cubies.
Lots of work to do today, mainly so I can be free to work exclusively on Thanksgiving stuff starting tomorrow.
Happy Sunday to all.

How can it be Thanksgiving next Thursday? Why is it Thanksgiving next Thursday? What did I ever do to deserve the holidays coming so soon?

How can it be Thanksgiving next Thursday? Why is it Thanksgiving next Thursday? What did I ever do to deserve the holidays coming so soon? Julia, ARGH The holidays are far too early this year. When did they stop being fun and become all stress all the time? I made Paul go shopping with me. We were going to buy a cheap frozen turkey, but he was seduced by the fresh turkeys at TJs. It says use by 12-04, so it should be good for Friday's RSWP. Our refrigerator is stuffed to the gills, and the basket for the bread is currently sitting on the kitchen floor. To save space, I didn't buy milk, so I'll have to make another run on Wednesday morning. Oh well, it'll all work out in the end. I hope. And if not, it won't be All My Fault this year. *Laughs, hollowly and bitterly* My dad and my exbf of ten years raised me right; if it goes well, somebody else gets the credit, and if it goes wrong, it's always my fault. I decided to be proactive, and told Paul I wanted money for my birthday this year. The things I need and want are all too hard for his feeble XY brain to track down anyway, and besides, if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
