Monnie, heeeee. Cats, so impatient!
The Dish techs have come and gone.
We have a new receiver, which should fix our problems.
It cost nothing, which is good.
I just got through re-setting up all our recordings, except for Warehouse 13, which I can't do until the show is actually back. I think I got all the important ones, anyway, including Paul's Sunday morning talking heads (see what a good wifey I am?).
Unfortunately, everything we had recorded is gone with the old receiver, including last season's American Idol (crocodile tears) and Chuck from last night. Oh well, I expect they'll repeat it at some point. If not, there are always plot synopses to read.
Yes, I know Chuck is available for download. No, I am not going to watch a two-hour TV episode on our PC; neither the daughters nor my back would stand for that much computer time.
I wonder if I have time for a lie-down before Kitty gets home from school, or am I too wired? It might be worth a try; I could at least lie down and read A Civil Contract. I'm in comfort book mode; Rita Mae Brown, Georgette Heyer and Flora Thompson at the moment.
Later, S'cubies.
ETA to correct incorrect citation of book currently being read. Anne's brain, she has left the building...

We really, really need rain, or things will get even more ugly than they were last summer. It was remarkable that we only got about a half-inch of rain over the weekend; it was actually almost clear there for an hour or two on Saturday. I'd give you an inch of what we've had in ten days: it's how much we're over average for the month! Julia, and of course I never got the watering trough moved because Sam was too busy.

Fun opener, Monnie. Your avatar . . . it kinda says it all, doesn't it? *Examines Monnie's avatar very carefully* What show is it from, InhibitionBusters? LOL! That sounds about right - except instead of Jamie & Adam, there's Monnie & Lola . . . do you think there might be slash subtext in something? Monnie & Lola are on the job, to check it out and determine whether or not the slash-subtext actually exists, or is all in your pants head!
