TV, currently.
I think I'm taping something like 21 hours, which is preposterous.
But many of those I could probably delete without much of a twinge.
One that no one has mentioned that is "up there" for me (as I said, not MUST see, but not one I would delete without watching) is Bones. Been quite good this year.
Human Target -- haven't seen this week, will watch IF I get time. But I wondered after 2nd ep how a program could become "formulaic" after only 2 episodes. Probably an unfairly early eval.
I've tape Life Unexpected both weeks, thinking that as soon as it bores me I won't watch. Thus far I've been entertained enough to watch both eps thru to the end.
Caprica-- yes, interesting with deep thoughts, good cast, good acting. And maybe some dramas are only intended to be dramas. But wondering if it will be dark, dark and more dark, like BSG.
24 -- I'd quit recording it if Jim didn't want to watch it. Bored now. And I want to knock Starbuck upside the head.
2 things that Joss is a master of:
1. Managing to wedge in the humor (and appropriately) even in the darkest episodes.
2. Managing to keep things going, moving on, changing, growing. As many of you, I've stopped recording House. Partly because -- well, look at season one, look at current season. Not much changes. Look at Buffy season one and Buffy season six. In fact, when Joss is forced to speed things up it's almost too much storyline compressed into too little time.

I completely agree about "House". It's formulaic. Seen one, seen pretty much all of them. It started out very good but I can't muster the interest to follow it anymore. "24"? Bored. Even if it is the last season ever. Of course someone else's mileage may vary.

I'm beyond bored with 24. I can not stand Starbuck's moments or subplot or whatever that is (and I don't even remember her 24 character name) and I miss Tony (well before they character assasinated him) and I miss Bill and I miss having people in CTU I actually care about.
And Jack is boring right now.
So I'm with everyone on the bore of 24.
Shows I still adore and can't wait to see:
Supernatural (obviously) Cougar Town Glee Castle Burn Notice Fringe Greek My reality shows
Everything else is in I'm watching when I have a moment but don't really care. Leverage I haven't seen the first episode yet so it might be there too. Everything else is either boring right now - 24- or a guilty pleasure like Desperate Housewives which is dumb but fun.

Thanks everyone re my Mom. I find it difficult to talk about or deal so . . . . . I just don't talk about it. She's home again though after almost 2 months in the hospital. But as I said, it seems like lots of parentals have been having things so . . . . . Monnie - I think we can blame Zachariah don't you? Yep, I could totally see how Zachariah could be responsible for this. Bastard! ;D Oh my gosh, Pixi, this is an AWESOME thing for you to be doing!! And you would be PERFECT for it. Oh, those kids are going to love you. My god, I always feel privileged to know you, but now even more so. You are such an inspiration.

Diane - Good thoughts for your grandson/family. Human Target was fun last night. Great to see Mark Valley and Chi McBride (from Pushing Daisies). WHO WAS the FBI agent? She looks so familiar....was she on Warehouse 13 or Eureka? Great to see Sean Maher again, too! Wish he would've had a bigger part. Emmanuelle Vaugier; she playes/played a detective on CSI:NY but, oh, hey! Was the original "Painkiller Jane" in the movie, which I liked infinitely more than the series. Julia, this may be the limit of my usefullness today, because I am ick to the iked w/earache and general cruditude

Kind of puts a new spin on the reporter being a fly on the wall. Well, I'm outa here. Off to errands and tutoring. Tonight there is VU/UT on ESPNU (men at 6 pm) and then the state of the union. Stopping by grocery store, just in case and ahead of the hoards. Forget the Superbowl. I want to start an online wagering site: weatherwagers.com Place your bet on what happens in Nashville between Thurs. midnight and Friday midnight: nothing small rain big rain small ice big ice snow (pick any 1/4" increment from 0 to 8 inches) Choose any combination of above events. Place your bet.

What? You seatbelted in? Sounds like you are totally distracted and that can't be good. And who knows? You might like it better somewhere else. But I don't wanna move!!!! I did a calculated survey of the auditorium at the beginning of the year and chose the best seat based on it being on the left side, and its distance to the front and back of the room, the distance to the door and the angle of my line of site to the projection screens. I'll give it a few more days, hoping that I'll become habituated or something. Then maybe I'll figure out a way to subtly move somewhere else when he's lecturing and move back when he's not without him noticing and being offended or something. I'm just venting here so I can continue nodding and smiling in real life and on facebook. Erm. Speaking as a fellow OCD-er (based on the above description and the previous post), I think it'd be good for you to sit in a different seat every day.

Leaving work early today as I have to pick up stones (as in crystal stones) for a costume that has to be stoned. Since I suck at stoning I have someone doing it for me but it's all a pain I must say.

The most committed Katee S. fangirls I know have already dumped 24, even the ones who are also CKR worshippers. Me, I've watched it twice in the past and found it so thoroughly not to my taste that they couldn't tempt me back if they replaced Jack with Buffy, with Joss and Jane E. writing. Julia, hey, a tv show made of my childhood obsessive fears, what's not to like?

Early leavage would be good. Jeremy's doing well; I think he's running neck-and-neck with a friend for salutatorian. I am ready mentally for him to head off to college, partially ready financially, and not at all emotionally. We're planning a NYC trip to celebrate this summer, intending to see Wicked, South Pacific, and The Lion King. Oh well, time marches on.

Julia, this may be the limit of my usefullness today, because I am ick to the iked w/earache and general cruditude Oh, thank you so much! *hugs for the ickies* After IMDBing her, I realize where I've seen her recently - Two and a Half Men She played Charlie's recent ex. She's funny. That show I watch only because Nick likes it and I've fallen in love with Jon Cryer, the son, the grandmother, the housekeeper (Conchata Farrell - who was on Go Fish yesterday) and all the minor characters. Oh - and his psychiatrist is played by Jane Lynch and she is HILARIOUSLY dry. Charlie is an ass, but I guess that is the point of the show. Other shows I make sure not to miss: Supernatural - no explanation needed Castle - can't resist Nathan The Golf Fix and the Golf reality show - The Big Break ...they had Mayor Juliani's son on it last time - and he was a big mouth but kind of grew on you..the other guys did not like him much, tho Chuck (mainly for Adam Baldwin) Caprica - loved the pilot...we'll see how it holds up - been touted as a Dallas-type show - family and power struggle driven - set in a futuristic environment Gossip Girl Vampire Diaries - both of these are well-written coming of age storyline driven shows - interesting (and of course, pretty) young people and their elders and lessons in good and evil and gray areas Bones - sooo much better this year Glee - fun, music! Leverage - 1st 2010 ep was very good (CK still pretty) Cougartown (morality hiddin' in contemporary fluff) Modern Family - very witty and a bit crass Big Bang Theory/HIMYM (although the latter grates on my teeth of late - except for AH) Human Target was fun, but we'll see if it holds up. Damages - Glen Close makes that show, plus the mystery is always fun Grey's and House depress me, so they might be on the outs The Closer - when I remember to DVR it Will watch Saving Grace when it returns because I am fascinated with the whole redemption process Mad Men and True Blood when they return Heroes .... I am still watching .... I like it and I don't .... Buffy, Buffy, Buffy - of all the choices on my list, I will pick it over the 'maybes'. Watching The Sopranos, too. Oh, and looking forward to the final season of LOST. Golf season can't come soon enough. (Absolute favs are bolded.)

Actually, pretty much everyone has *their* seat, that they've sat in every single day since the beginning of the year. Make of that what you will. Mostly I was thinking of your pre-class assessment of the ideal seat and the elaborate amount of prep that seemed to go into choosing it. Not that I have ANY familiarity with this. Says the woman who's already planning her fantasy baseball draft two months early....
