Welcome to Part 1089 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread!!!!! And we should know. You have no idea how many 'bots there are the Thrall Room here. There are the Spikebots, the Xanderbots, the Willowbots, the Gilesbots, Malbots (not to say they are badbots, just Mal) and we're working on more. So, human or 'bot, you're welcome to come and network with us. We may have 'bots available for check-out (assuming Spring and/or Monnie and/or Jan haven't locked all the Spikebots up somewhere secret), but there are Rules for that and for general getting along with us and our 'bots. Read 'em if you haven't done so already or if you just need to re-boot your positronic relay. ;D If you're not interested in robotics but would still like to be hugely entertained, visit our website for great essays, reviews and fan fiction. Looking for a little verbal input or need to dump your memory of data on today's hottest topics? You can tap into our circuits here. Be sure to play nice and don't spoil us anywhere but Spoiled Souls or under the ghost button, or we'll remove your on/off switch for good and sell your parts on Ebay tm. Resistance is futile. Assimilation is inevitable the minute you see how much we all Love, love, love TV. Now, boot up whatever needs booting and interface!

First, also: Yeah, there was a lot of wonderful things on Caprica last night, including the whole Akenaten-ish subplot. Julia, I'm not sure if I could follow two hours of it every week, though. I saw it last night (fell asleep before the end) and the replay today. I like it. Is it really on for 2 hours every week? That's gonna be difficult. Only the pilot was two hours; looking at the SyFy schedulebot leads me to the conclusion it will be new one hour episodes @ 9/8central with a repeat of the last weeks episode an hour earlier (next week two hours- 7/6 central for the repeat of the Pilot only). Julia, copying this for transfer to the new part.

Julia: I would think that you'd get too much peanut butter stuck everywhere in the little vanes. I'd just use one of the simple cheap ones that looks like a mixmaster milkshake tip. Yeah, I hadn't really thought that out all the way, had I? ;D

Julia: I would think that you'd get too much peanut butter stuck everywhere in the little vanes. I'd just use one of the simple cheap ones that looks like a mixmaster milkshake tip. Yeah, I hadn't really thought that out all the way, had I? ;D Thing is, what we have here is a problem with established procedure: Franklin (or offspring, if they are home and he has crashed out) washes dishes as per our prenup (no, really) and makes my coffee/checks peanut butter as part of that process. Since he has an energy peak around three hours after I've had my brain switch off for the day, I've got no way to check until I'm up and involved in the whole morning intake procedure. Last night he'd gotten derailed by the fact that Anna, in putting groceries away, had barricaded the pantry shelves and no peanutbutter was to be found. She was asleep (I estimate this was happening around 3:30am, because it was twenty 'til four when the dishwasher woke me up) and his very fragile search process terminated before peanutbutter was acquired. So: he had to get up at 9am to open and stir the peanutbutter which I found behind a bunch of canned beans and coconut milk, Anna has to sort and reassemble the pantry so things are findable, and we all have had a lesson in following the established categories for kitchen storage and retrieval, eh? Julia, not yet satisfied that I will not have to go re-sort the pantry, since Anna is as bad at just sticking things at the front of the shelf and pushing as her father or brother.

He has this completely smooth face, and the most perfect hair--you'd almost think he's a robot. But somehow his utterly flat plane gives off waves of emotion. Me likey. Question: Is his son Willy supposed to be William Adama as a child, or William Adama's father? I wasn't quite sure based on the timeline.

Well, I guess that is preferable to the reverse! And, now that we are in a new part I must go find pretties for Monnie's latest milestone.

Question: Is his son Willy supposed to be William Adama as a child, or William Adama's father? I wasn't quite sure based on the timeline. Yes, this was my question. But I'd say it's definitely Admiral Adama. Timeline is 50 years before BSG. Kid is 11. So either Adama was 61 (EJO will be 63 in Feb) or the kid would have to have had a kid at maybe 22 and Adama I suppose could then be 51. But 51 and has his own 2 grown sons and that whole history of service? Unlikely. But I missed the explanation for the thing with the gloves. Which, btw they then were not wearing at the sporting event.
And young Willie is so very very like my 13 year old nephew. In appearance they could be brothers -- brothers with a close resemblance. Gus's hair is a bit curlier (he is half Greek) but size, build, coloring. But in affect they are even more similar. Gus would act exactly like that kid. Very close and affectionate (hugging his grandmother) but quiet and obedient. Semi-adultish in asking questions but also very self-contained. And at the sports thing -- so exactly like Gus!

Younger Daughter has returned from her SATs, with lunch (I suggested The Husband swing by Brea's Best on the way home). She said that the essay was much easier than she had expected, the math was fun, and there was one word she didn't know in the English part. Locution. Well, I think she knows it now. The ant-influx has stopped for the moment, but we are on red alert status for at least the weekend, and probably longer. Which means washing dishes after every meal instead of sticking them in the dishwasher and running it once a day. Which, since the Elder Daughter starts classes again on Monday and she has classes that let out at 7PM two nights a week, means I'll be washing a lot of dishes. I wonder how far our budget will stretch as to takeout. Not nearly far enough, alas.

Sue et al:
Let me have a think. I think that yes, we should totally have a Caprica thread, if people want it. But I'm just wondering if it should go in the ILLTV thread or the BSG thread, since it's a prequel and all.
Thoughts?

The only consideration might be where a visitor to the site might look for it. I suggest that it go on the BSG thread with a prominent linking thread on the ILLLTV thread. When offered choices, I usually try to figure out some way to do both, so this may not be the best advice.

#wavey# today I mostly listened to Doctor Who audios. then ten minutes ago I realised I'd only ever ate breakfast and much of the food in the fridge is going to be past date at midnight. I should probably work on my process a little bit. also, my computer that I could set with reminders that I haven't been using cause it weren't working right? I took it to the computer shop to get fixed but there is no more computer shop no more. :-( They said to bring it in January 4th. Guess I missed by an important 2 weeks there. Or they were being optimistic. I could send it off to be repaired, but I could send it to the same place that broked it in the first place, so I was trying to avoid that. too slow.

But I'm just wondering if it should go in the ILLTV thread or the BSG thread, since it's a prequel and all. Thoughts? I was thinking in the IL3TV thread because, even though technically it is a prequel, it is very much not BSG. And if by chance someone comes here looking for Caprica discussion, I would think they'd look under the active TV thread first, as opposed to the BSG thread. And also, isn't the reason BSG had it's own section because someone was supposed to be doing reviews for it? Just my two cents.
