My late ex-FIL would not eat chickens because he grew up on a farm and saw what they ate.A hydroponic garden of greens would be good on a spaceship. Although minerals, etc. would have to be added to the water. That's always a for me. My attitude is always "it's organic, don't panic." I really hope he never ate any lobster. Julia, not naturally squeamish: one of the few weaknesses I lack, so it just seems silly to me. Life isn't neat, tidy or clean. Why would food be? Some of the best meals come from scavengers or near-scavengers. Like, has anybody eaten catfish? crawfish? shrimp? In life these things are living garbage processors. On the plate they're delicious.l Think of it as the ultimate recycling.

I am enjoying the "chicken on spaceships" discussion. You must let us know, be, when the story is ready for a read. It sounds like it is going to be an interesting one. to all. Long, long day! Got the girls registered for school - wow. I'm doin' the school thing again. Amazin'. It's not--but YOU are! Bobman's expectant daughter-in-law is having a 3D (4D? We're going to see it time-travel?) sonogram viewing this Saturday. The whole family is invited to witness this event. Has anybody ever heard of such a thing?

Somebody on the BackYardChicken BB did exactly this as part of a visit to out-of-state relatives. Hi! I'm alive! I had a fasting blood draw this morning and am not my favorite flavor of alive, though. Julia, just now finished brekkie, so total screw-up.

They tend to trigger my hypoglycemia.

This joke may make no sense to be, but the word "sucks" reminded me of a t-shirt I saw while at the U of Illinois 2 weeks ago on our way to Chicago: Front of shirt: Why does the state of Illinois lean to the right? Back of shirt: Because Indiana sucks and Iowa blows. [The Big 10 fans will get it.] Which at least was a tad more thoughtful than the more direct: "Muck Fichigan" t-shirts.

I had lunch at lunchtime, instead of waiting until I was hungry, a mistake I've made in the past that's led to rollercoaster BG numbers. Now if I could figure out how to get away without having to cook dinner tonight since that's almost guaranteed to kill my appetite. Julia, long, long day

I made a list for today, with two columns, have-to and want-to. So far I've crossed off everything on the have-to side, plus some more I should add to the list, and nothing on the want-to side. I'm beginning to think that I really don't want to watch last week's Torchwood, because I'm slaying usefuls instead, again. If it wasn't for my obsessive need to finish what I start watching or reading, or have the full set, or whatever it is my weird little brain wants, I'd give up right now. Except that I just can't bring myself to delete the thing. Maybe tomorrow, one way or the other...

I had a heck of a time with the ex when we were first married because we couldn't afford many meat meals. He balked at spaghetti and chicken for a long time. Lobster..mmmm.....much better than crab.

Next time the travelin' Ms are travelin', we need to visit a bee keeper. Hello, tonight's nightmare. Wait until it's a reality! Not only will we visit a beekeeper, but we'll stay in the seediest motel around, and I'll make sure I'm tired and cranky on the drive back.

I've heard that term used, though it doesn't really fit, when they are including "smello-vision" with the 3D at a movie . . . maybe they are referring to 3D plus . . . sound? I have never heard of such a thing. Do report back.

Who would wear a shirt like that? Believe it or not, a shirt I saw for sale in Ann Arbor was even less subtle, since it tried this same "switch the first consonant trick, only with the word "Buckeye" instead of Michigan. (You can't really use "Ohio.") So anyhow, consider a moment, how that would turn out. Yes, that's right. It said: Buck the Fudge-eyes. Only it didn't say Fudge. It said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word! Yes, the whole purpose of the consonant switch was thwarted, but do you think they cared? No, they did not!
