I like this asset doctor guy. I think he'll have some surprises up his sleeve.
Heeee! He wants to send in a brave lil' monkey! So they send Skye instead. **smirk**
"Stop thinking like an operative, start thinking like a person." I like the advice that Coulson gives.
I really enjoy every scene between Coulson and Melinda May. Layers!
Who are the white hats? Quinn? S.H.I.E.L.D.? Both? Neither? Good questions!
That Quinn guy took a wrong step when he said the thing about not having family, I'm thinking. Or else she just still enjoying always doing whatever she wants to do at any given moment, not ever being taken for granted.
Heee! I love the bit where their strategy didn't take into account the asset stealing himself away.
Gravity! Fun (and not so fun) with gravity!!
So the doctor is sacrificed to his own creation. But how did he think unleashing gravity like that would have saved lives? How did he think it would be stopped once it got going?
Damn, I'm loving all the scenes between Coulson and May.

Have seen it yet (Jim's darn schedule, I may have to start watching without him). But I tend to think of Coulsen and May as the "adults" and the others as the kiddies (and still that one guy is definitely "tall, dark and broody).)

Didn't watch it yet, either: dinner cooking and sick-dog-treatment took up my evening.
Julia, I may actually watch it during the day, that would be unusual.

Oh, I don't think he was planning on unleashing it. It wanted it to explode/implode? and sink the island and destroy itself somehow in the process. And he was willing to sacrifice the few for the many (everybody on the island vs the whole world). There were a good many scientific quibbles if you looked too closely: like how that would destroy it rather than just bury it at the bottom of the sea for someone to dig up or work its way down into the earth's center. [and also along that line why something so powerful would be behind glass that isn't even bulletproof] Coulson didn't really want it (or necessarily even want his own guys to have it) but wasn't willing to sacrifice everyone. (I honestly didn't get the sense that he was all that concerned about saving his own life but more the lives of his team (and possibly the other bystanders).) My favorite so far as the characters are starting to have some individuality for me (not quite actual personalities yet though). Yes, there was some hokey-ness with Skye's "moment" coming so quickly (and semi-predictably). I sort of like that with all the scientific stuff glossed over and even the deep emotional self-examination of motives skipped through on high speed they spent time making sure we saw how she actually worked at acquiring the skill of taking the pistol away. So Coulson's muscles have no memory. Any other guesses than android or clone (my guess)? Wondering how the ratings are holding up -- wondering if the big Avengers fanboys enjoy the character-driven stuff or think the ep is weak because they didn't have as many special effects and big fight scenes (really, no TV show has the budget to do those week in and week out). Okay, looked them up and it's doing fairly well. ABC just ordered 9 additional eps for a "full" season.

beccaelizabeth.dreamwidth.org/2657912.htmlI liked it, but I don't so much like Skye and Ward so far, so I'm not all bounce squee about this one. Coulson I like. <3 Coulson. I'm happily interested in the story they're unfolding about him.

Well, in a comic book universe making sense way. :-D I liked that bit too. Clone is a good idea. Or maybe alien reanimation that brought him back a bit "wrong"?
