Niki survived, of course. I'm glad she's confiding in someone. True - but red haired woman is just kind of boring and one note. Her name is Texas freakin' Tina. I think she's sposed to be one-note.

Myself, I'd put Jessica in the bad column and leave Niki either undecided or leaning toward good. I dunno. I see...tendencies...in her. Even when she's Niki and not Jessica. I know she's desperate, but deliberately calling out someone she knows is a serial killer (Jessica) is a step too far. Her son was gone, yeah, and she'd be freaking out, but also - she knows he's with his father, and I'm pretty sure his father wouldn't hurt him, so Micah wasn't in any immediate danger. I had some serious moral issues with both her calls - to Jessica and to Nathan. Also, I remain unconvinced that Niki and Jessica are really different people. I think the odds of them becoming integrated at some point are high. Maybe after Niki finds a good shrink. Yeah, but Niki was also unwilling to essentially prostitute herself for Linderman in order to get her debt erased; only when Micah was threatened did Jessica emerge and do what she felt had to be done to save their kid. I also agree that Jessica is like a Mr. Hyde or the Hulk--an incarnation of all of the darkest aspects of Niki's personality, and that Niki won't be able to exert any control over Jessica's actions unless she accepts that. And while I'd say Niki definitely made a bad call in turning to her other half to get Micah back, I also think she was utterly desperate and running on fumes both emotionally and physically. After all, let's think back on the week she Niki was having: threatened by two goons, woke to find they've been torn apart, realized she's having blackouts, spent an entire night burying said dismembered bodies in the vicinity of more dead bodies, sparred with her rather formidable mother-in-law, was asked to sleep with a man for money, had another blackout, discovered she actually did do the thing she thought she'd walked away from (ie sleeping with Nathan), learned the husband put away for murder is on the loose, had one of her internet fans show up at her house, had her husband show up at her house, found out she has an alter ego that's going around ripping people apart like they're piƱatas, found proof she'd committed the murders and stole the money, was confronted by her husband, and then woke up to find her husband took off with her son. I don't know about you, but I figure clear thinking was probably not high on her list of capabilities at that moment.

See, here's the thing - I was with you on that until he lied to his brother about the painting. After everything Peter'd done for him at that breakfast, he lied about something he knew was important to his brother's search for his own identity. Evil. Oh! I hadn't quite got that he'd lied to Peter about the painting. I thought the mobster had told him "no" and I'd just misunderstood Nathan's end of the one-sided conversation, as ya have to be defferential to someone who's just given you four million bucks. *makes plan to rewatch scene later* Oh no, Nathan definitely lied. He made arrangements to have the painting shipped to the gallery, only to turn around and tell Peter he couldn't obtain it. Asshat.

Not really. Y'all started posting near the end, so I had to mostly stay away until the very end, lest I get spoiled. Well, you didn't miss much. Our conversation was mostly comments like "whoa," "that's gonna leave a mark" (unless it was Claire), "cool," "neat," and "huh." Besides, you complain that you can't go on the board during certain hours lest you get spoiled, and now you complain because we're trying to be thoughtful? Make up your mind, woman. Actually, I think you'll find that I never once complained about the possibility of getting spoiled if I show up early - I just accept it as a fact.

Lots of stuff about cars in this episode
the car fire
Lyle locks himself in the car
Nathan's wife got paralyzed from a car accident.
And then of course, we see DL and Micah and Clea and Matt and Hiro and Ando traveling in cars.

Interesting because Nathan has been portrayed ambigously with moments of asshattery (lying about Peter's mental state) coupled with moments of awesomeness (the flying), sleeziness (the adultery) coupled with an explanation (crippled wife) so that he is the constantly shifting chamelon. But this moment pushes him more murkily into the bad guy role. I imagine each of the heroes are going to be faced with a choice on how they use their powers. Sylar has obviously chosen already as has Hiro but everyone else seems to be teetering in grey area. Using your telepathic powers to get in good with your wife, Niki/Jessica's whole is she good/bad Sybil type of character, seeing the future but abusing heroin, DL's obivous criminal history, and Peter who can seemingly absorb any power - what choice does he make?

Greg made an interesting observation to me this morning. If Sylar were to steal the abilities of the guy we met last night, and then steal Claire's regenerative power, he could go nuclear in the middle of New York City and know he'd live to tell the tale.

Good observation. So what do you think? Is Peter the good guy's equivalent of Sylar? Can't he do all that too - only without the gross eating the brain part of it?

I thought that was why we have special threads for TV shows, anyway, so we on the Left Coast can hang around the Thrall Room without getting spoiled. I enjoy reading the comments, because I don't get to participate in real time. I need my vicarious Talky Meat!
