I've been reading the fantastic new reviews by Sara & Erin which I hope to comment on specifically in their own threads at sometime (but if I don't get the time, both of you, you are AWESOME!)
I nearly fell off my chair when I read in Sara's "Company Man" review:
" Since the color red has proven to be fairly significant in the Heroes universe, ... "
I had been planning on logging on to post about the red spiral staircases of this week's episode. A blogger at tvguide.com mentioned their visual prominence but could not come up with a purpose. Remembering that image, my mind jumped to DNA helix - especially in an episode when Mohinder finally concludes that his own DNA has a purpose.
I'll be interested to hear what Sara thinks of this in her review for "The Hard Part".

Puts an interesting spin on the part where it's her blood that causes Sylar's monstrous side to grown stronger, no?

Plus, many folks have already mentioned that the symbol we keep seeing could very well be an extremely stylized half of a double helix, so . . .

When I was watching the scenes with them I kept thinking "who is she?" and then I literally shouted in my living room - "Oooh, it's Audrey!" "Feed me!" Very apt for Sylar. Creepy, but apt.

Teaser
And they are back to the past
Now the hard part. Yep.
The comics have pictures only. No words.
Nathan brings him his other children.
Claire wants a life, not a destiny.
He'll keep me safe. Safe? You can't get hurt! THANK YOU!!!!!!! CAN YOU TELL HOW MUCH IT BUGS ME WHEN PEOPLE INSIST ON PROTECTING OTHERS THAT DON'T NEED IT? CAN YOU?
Oh, Peter doesn't know Ted. I keep forgetting who knows who.
Hey! It's winter!
Now Sylar's painting. Hee.
Sylar naturally thinks it's all about him.
Sylar's situational ethics.
To take what others don't deserve.

Part I
DL and Nikki/Jessica domestic dispute.
Linderman smells funny.
Ali Larter is doing a good job of being Candace.
Gunders?
Power play between Suresh and Eric Roberts.
Molly Walker.
Molly has a virus. Suresh's sister had the same virus.
Molly is the only one who can stop Sylar. Really?
And Hiro's back to this scene. But he doesn't see his other self. Moving on.
[gulp] Hee!

Part II
Hiro and Ando jumped away.
DL can bring other people through walls as well.
Linderman has been keeping tabs on Nikki since forever.
DL doesn't realize there are other Heroes.
The boogeyman can see into your soul and eat your brain.
Molly can find people. So she's like Cerebro.
Hiro, you know they can see you through the window.
Sylar's mom.

Part III
Sylar's mom is obsessed with snowglobes.
The clock's broken.
Watch it there, mom. Don't get Sylar angry.
Sylar's mom is proud of him.
If I stayed, maybe I could stop. So Sylar feels that his actions are not under his control.
It's okay to just be a normal watchmaker. Can't you just tell me that's enough? Why would I tell you that when I know you can be so much more?
If you wanted, you could be president.
So Sylar has mommy issues. That's a change of pace.
If we save ourselves, whose going to save everyone else?
Micah's on to Candace.
You think they would have considered that Micah can mojo electronics.
Oh, he's like in some crazy fun house. I guess they did.
You can't hurt anyone.
He makes a life size snow globe for her. That's actually really sweet. Until the part where he starts flinging things around the room.

Part IV
The star will protect him from the boogeyman.
The bushido code.
Sylar killed Ando in the future they saw.
Sylar's mom disowns him.
And he stabs her.
So Hiro prepares to kill him. And Sylar would thank him for it.

Coda
The sword is broken! Oh noes! Then again, how important could it be if it broke that easily.
My destiny is not to shoot you. The universe cannot be that lame. Hee!
Kirby Plaza.
Mama Petrelli's coat is white lined with black fur. The coat she was going give Claire was black lined with white fur.
Mama Petrelli's reveals all to Nathan.
Nathan's weakness is lack of faith in destiny.
This plan might go off better if Nathan didn't actually know about the bomb.
This scene between Mama Petrelli and Nathan has strong shades of Jessica and Paul from Dune.
Painting in blood. WHOA!!! That's awesome and gruesome at the same time.
Claire, Peter: remember, you're *related*.
It's happening. But can't he control it this time? After all that practicing?
Maybe he's being set up.

Lots and lots of red and blue.
I don't have the time to think symbolical, but people had definite themes. Sylar and Nathan in blue. Nikki in red.

Oh, and the other interesting thing is that everyone, or every group of some ones, has a totally different perspective, colored by their own experiences. For instance, to Nathan, it's All. About. The election. DL, on the other hand, thinks it's all about Linderman targeting his family exclusively.
Also, Sylar and Peter each being completely convinced that they must cause the explosion, simply because they can (or would be able to).

"Her nucleotides are degrading?" Are they kidding me with this? Those were red blood cells, which, incidentally, are the only living cell in the human body that HAS NO DNA. Even if you could see degrading nucleotides in a non-EM image. Meanwhile, Hiro? Not so bright, maybe.... And I wasn't going to say anything... ETA: Okay, okay. You got me started. "It's a cure." "What's is it?" "It's an antibody." Me: Yes, and? THIS IS BASIC SCIENCE, PEOPLE. BASIC SCIENCE. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK TO GET THE BASIC SCIENCE RIGHT?

Suresh can go about his business. Move along. Hey, I screamed, too. ;D Hee.

Hi, everyone! *waves* Just popping in to share my wild and crazy theory for the finale that emerged after seeing tonight's show and the clips for next week. The whole "exploding man" thing? Total mislead. "The bomb" is literally a bomb (or some other type of electric machine or chain reaction) and Linderman is going to use Micah as the trigger. That sounds very plausible.
