=^..^= Let me preface this with a note to Miss Pamela, our excellent Chair in Nosferolinguistics. I had noticed that there seemed to be some confusion as to who held each Chair and that you were not getting your due, and as such I decided to make up a comprehensive list of the Faculty of the VHISN. So, take heart, even before your post on the subject, I was already taking steps to remedy the situation. See? I do appreciate you, as I am certain others do as well. So please, come over to my office and we will have a nice pot of tea and some cookies and watch the videotapes of my Nosferoengineering study on vampire thermodynamics.
See you soon,
M. (on second thought, I'll post the list of faculty in a separate post.)
EDITED TO SAY: P.S.: As I posted this I see that our President offered to put together a list. Sorry, boss, two steps ahead of you there ;-D

Now that we have a (mostly) complete list of current faculty members, I would like to point out that we are lacking staff in several key positions. Case in point, we have no Poet/Artist in residence! (Shame on us.) Further, the sociology department seems rather thin. What about Nosferoliterature and Nosferoclassics, not to say Nosferohistory.
My dear colleagues, I submit that our facility is in dire need of staff to fill these vacancies and would like to put out a staffing call. (We Nosferoengineers would call is a Call for Tenders.)
Do I have a seconder for the motion?
Anyone care to present themselves?
Robert, are you certain you couldn't fill in a hole for us?
M. VHISN Chair NosfEng

"In the past, his perspectives have been tainted by his jealousy, for better and for worse. He has one hurdle left to jump, and that's a complete acceptance of Spike. As I've said many times before here, I strongly hope the writers allow them to give each other a break. Without getting spoilery, I think some stuff may come up that will provide us with an answer pretty soon. I'm telling you right now: if Xander gives Spike credit and supports him in front of the group it'll be a huge leap forward for both of them, and I just might cry with joy (while making sure no one is looking, of course)."
Xander's talk with Dawn was the most moving part of the show (not to be confused with the part most meaningful to me personally which was actually the opening of the show). It was really touching and made me very happy in its affirmation of our own sense (it has been discussed either here or on the episodes board before) of how Xander must feel about his history and postion within the Scooby circle. I'm so glad the writers finally addressed how Xander must feel about his role in relation to the other Scoob's and let him voice those feelings at such an appropriate opportunity. Those writers really explore and know their characters to a degree that is unknown on any other show (in my experience)and their depth is what distinguishes among this shows greatest strengths.
The only part that jarred a little bit for me was Dawn's comment at the end about how Xander's gift may be for seeing. Of course the first thing I thought of was that his insights have long been completely skewed by his own biases, hate, jelousy and resentment, at least when it comes to Spike. (Spike on the other hand, ranks as King of Insight among that group.) But your posting said it all for me and Just Right too. Thank you.
Xander's talk with Dawn was so wonderful that I didn't even resent that the show ended on Xander rather than with Spike. And that's saying a lot for me.

Diane,
I had you on my list as an Anyaologist and am afraid I mistakenly left you off the Faculty listing.
Be advised, when I post my revised list later in the day (or tomorrow after we have had time to accept nominations for other positions) you will be listed as Anyaologist and Poet in Residence.
Glad to have you aboard. And again, my appologies for having left you out the first time.
M. Chair NosfEng and (self-appointed) official Faculty list put-er together-er.

Thank you for the honor of the Anyaology chair and the dubious honor of the (Bloody Awful) Poet-in-Residence. I will now stop sulking and thinking I had been ignored. I will also stop whining, screaming, slamming doors, running away, tearing up my sister's favorite Tshirt and my diary and...
Oops. Sorry. Channeling Dawn again.

God, I wish I didn't have to work today and could just concentrate on this board. I'm still up to post #70 here, have not even read the new review yet, and work keeps getting in the way.
Weh!

Miss Pamela, thanks for your colorful description of JM's late night guest tv appearance last night. Of course I missed it having no computer after I leave work.
Do tell, what was he wearing? Also, if you do end up coming to that Chicago convention in the Spring, I'm hoping to convince you to bring the tape so I can see for myself.
Note: Please disregard this posting if my question as to his attire has been covered already. I'm still not caught up.

Yes, sorry folks. It's amazing how 2 hours turns into 4. *sigh* But, alas I ran into dificulties, the primary one being the inavailability of software that worked *growls* Finally, I had to improvise and compromise and I am not completly happy about the quality but it is done and it is serviceable.
Soon, in mere minutes, on my website, there will be the audio portion of JM's interview from last night in MP3 format. The file is, alas, 2.7Mb. I know, I know.. but the interview is almost 6 minutes long and I trimmed the quality down as low as I could and still have something I'd admit to recording. I imagine this will amount to being a 10-15 minute download for most folks which isn't really too bad. If you haven't heard or seen it, I think you'll find it worth the effort.
As soon as it finished uploading and I figure out whether to make a link or what, I'll post again telling you how to download it.
sincerely (tired),
your ever-luvvin' TA at large,
Vlad

Spring synopsis of last night's JM appearance included this:
What else - he told a story of noticing two young teen girls pointing at him and giggling at the laundromat, so he went over thinking he'd make their day and talk to them. But time went by and they never mentioned Buffy and suddenly one of them looked at him and said: "You know, we're THIRTEEN!", as if she thought he was a perv trying to pick them up. So this mortified him and taught him never to assume people know who you are.
What a sweet story. I hope it didn't put him off approaching fans, at least if they clearly recognize him but are too nervous or shy to approach him (thinking of myself here). But I can't help but wonder, what was he doing in a laudromat? Can he still be doing his own laundry and can he still be without his own washer and dryer?

He did say that it was a couple years ago, and that would have been before he was a regular on BTVS. I really have no idea how much he might have earned in say... season two? Surely it couldn't have been oodles and oodles. Perhaps he was doing his laundry in the laundromat.. or maybe he was out of town and needed to freshen a few clothes. Hmmmm, what a mystery this is. Anyone else have speculations on hwat he was doing in that landromat?

All I can say is, why can't I meet him in a Laundromat? It would really MY day (um, week, month, year?)
Thanks so much for mentioning about JM being on... I found out in time to tape it and watch it this morning... (who says I need to go to work on time?)
