Okay, I have a few things to say on all different subjects so bear with me.
Rusty: Have fun with Outlander!
Athene: I will check my local library for Gospel, I think I like your taste in books too.
Nan: Yup, I was a Beauty and the Beast afficionado too. The final season, without Catherine was a real let down, but we really needed to see Vincent track down his son.
Spring: Can't wait for your next analysis. Space aired School Hard last night, and I watched it knowing I should be looking for certain things. That tampon passed by so fast I would never had noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. *L* Thanks for the eagle eyes and the heads up. I am looking forward to the next installment. This is my first viewing of season 2 and I am enjoying it greatly.
And who knows, since I got a job offer this morning (yeah, real money!) I may be able to offer myself a DVD player and seasons 1-3. *grins like a looney and is far too pleased with herself considering this all means she has to finish her thesis in the next month*

*rubs the kink out of his neck and is still squinting trying to focus the monitor screen into some semblence.*
First off, thanks Spring. I just read the mail, saw the analysis and gave up a huge smile . I haven't even read it yet, but my anticipation is tremendous. I will read it, and post it, hopefully all within the next half hour.
Secondly: A book corner would be fine. It looks like you folks have made a good start. In fact, the descriptions that most of you have made about the books are exactly what I would want for the movies. I haven't read most of these books and several of them now sound intriguing enough to me to look for them (or order them) at the library. So I will get started compiling the book list and hopefuly then you will get an idea of how I would like to finish up the Fangfest Film area.
Thirdly: I would like to encourage anyone who hasn't checked out the changes and additions to the S3 site to go and take a look. I would really welcome any and all suggestions and criticism. Feel free to toss in the glowing word or two, also. *G*

KudosVlad. You are a Techno-Pagan par excellence!First it's wonderful that you are willing to put all this work into our excercise in mass-dementia. And you do such a good job,. If you need to catch your breath, just tell us to stop having new ideas for awhile.
The dark blue is still kinda hard to see. But white is so boring. Would gree, or some other color be less strobie?
Poll is great. You just seem to reach out there and bring in what we need. I feel like a cro-mag who thinks 'Oh, look. Ogg can make something bright, hot and ouchie. He must be a god."

Spring, m'dear. You confided to me after having written the wonderful piece on School Hard that you were afraid that you had raised the bar too high to write another.
Let me be the first to say that your fears were entirely uncalled for. Your analysis of Halloween has maintained and even strengthened the success of the first. You are no one-note wonder.
I thouroughly enjoyed the analysis and I encourage everyone to read it. It's every bit as good as the first. I'll save any further comments til I read it again and everyone else has had a fair chance to draw their own perceptions of it.
Again, thank you Spring! It is wonderful! I consider myself and my fellow S'cubies fortunate that you have decided to grace our group with your involvement and your wonderful writing.
Vlad, TA, tp
ps.
Oh, btw, It is posted. *laughing* In my exhuberance I completey failed to mention that. It's under the "Spike-centric Analysis of BTVS Episodes" section. Enjoy!

I tried to post an image but I just can't get the hang of it. I hate to keep trying because it just makes me look like a bigger dork than I actually am. I can copy the images to my own computer no problem. I just can put them anywhere else either from the original or the copy. Waah!

Rusty,
I truly enjoy doing this. The feedback I have gotten is 100% positive. The only criticisms have been truly constructive ones. What's not to enjoy? *L*
I plan on continuing this web page for you folks. As long as there is interest, and I can type, I'll be maintaining it.
I do have a question however. It regards the "dark blue." What dark blue? You are the only one to have mentioned this.
To my knowledge the only "blue" I have even used on the page is the text color on the links thru-out Spring's Analyses area. It's not even really blue but more an "aqua" and rather light.(Which I think is very nicely contrasting and legible, but if there is a problem there for folks, do speak up!)
The rest of the page (barring pics, titles and buttons)is white text on dark red background, with the exception of the "Appliction" area in the VHISN, which I did in dark red text on white background.(Let's just say it [red text] was a wild wacky moment there, where I wanted to try something out *L*)
Oh! I almost forgot, the titles of the movies in the Fangfest area are done in gold.
So, the "blue" comment is confusing to me. Please help me understand, because I do want the site to be legible to everyone.
As far as the white text goes...*sighs* I kind of agree. But its where I started when the site was jsut a little spark in my mind and a hastily scribbled few notes in pencil on the back of an envelope. If you will notice, the page is growing and evolving. I am replacing hte text links slowly with "buttons" where possible. My whole goal remains unchanged however. I want this page to be as accessible to someone with a 5 year old computer (or more) and a slow internet connection as to a person with a 2 Gig machine and a 128 Mb video card and a cable modem. (Drools slightly, shakes his head and comes back to reality) *ahem* Anyway, I will be keeping the flash to a minimum all the while trying to do something sophisticated. I am afraid the color scheme will basically remain white text on red background primarily. This could change when I finally get all the other pesky projects (ie. finishing hte Fangfest section, doing the book section, getting the Weetabix area up...and others) out of the way. I am working as fast as I can on this. Bear with me, Technomagickry is less a science than an art, and art takes time. *grin*
And thanks for the feedback on the poll. I have plans on really using it as a feedback tool. Please do give it a check whenever you go to the site as I dont know how often I will be changing it.
A final note and then I will release the Board back to the people that are trying to have a decent conversation without the Technopagan making your eyes glaze over.
I think the site needs a "What's new" area somehow completely visible when you first open the page. Many of the newer items are hidden in sections and I am afraid people will miss them. I am going to work on this and please offer any suggestions you have.
Your humble Technopagan,
Vlad

Vlad, I think the blue people are having trouble with is the colour of the hyperlinks. I just came from the site and all the text is fine, the hyperlinks are the problem. Is there a way to fix that? Watergal Oh, and I second Diane's statement. You ROCK! PS, reread the Non-Sponsor Weetabix statemtne at the bottom of the main page, it is missing a word. That last line reads:
This site not brought to you by [Weetabix picture] but wouldn't it be cool if it was?
That phrasing is a play on, "This site brought to you by...." and is standard advertising-speak. No "is" is needed.

*LOL* Thank you, Nan. I read that Weetabix statement 6 ways to Sunday and could not, for the life of me, come up with the missing word, unless Water was referring to the word that is replaced by the Weetabix picture. I thought I was losing it there for a minute.

Spring, this is again a fine essay (on Halloween). The central motif of duality holds the episode and your discussion together splendidly, and displays your usual insight.
I trust you won't be offended if I offer one minor correction: The rule is that periods and commas always go INSIDE available close quotation marks. They never go outside. Other marks of punctuation--dashes, semicolons, question marks, colons--go inside OR outside depending on whether they belong in the quoted part or are part of the sentence proper.
Example: He wondered, "Who let the dogs out?" while brushing the cat.
Counter example: Fred said, "Joan's hobby of collecting stuffed shrunken heads is most unique."
If you've got a period or a comma adjacent to a set of close(end) quotation marks, they always go inside. That's the simplest way to remember this punctuation rule.
In the second paragraph, there's also a "though" that I think needs to be a "thou," but I've already posted Vlad about that. That's a simple typo, of which I commit more than my share.
Again, a fine essay! I enjoyed it immensely. And the "spicy bits" are fun, too.
When can we hope for another (hint, hint)?

Don't look at me, I thought it was spelled "ecomiums"! (Notice the exclamation point *outside* the end quotes, though.)

Again, posts are being put up with false times on them. My post was AFTER the one about ecomiums (or however the hell you spell it), which is marked as having been written about ten minutes from now.
What IS this???
