Do you suppose the electric light could be part of Sayid's flashback, rather than something that's on the island. Maybe the trap he steps in is one of Locke's snares, and the knife is from Locke cutting him down. They do seem to like to try to mislead us in those trailers. Ya know, I did kinda wonder about that. I mean, he left the group because he was so upset that he re-became a person he didn't want to ever be again. So, it might be very natural for him to have memories and flashbacks to that time in his life. Lola

Maybe thought he was in Australia, but the trail went cold. Definitely a possibility!

I have to say that I'm really liking this show. Walkabout was my favorite ep so far because it had such a surprising ending. I never saw that coming, not at any point during the episode. Some of the other episodes, I've been able to figure out before the ending (maybe only seconds before, but still...), but not Locke being able to walk. Anyways, I really appreciate a show that gets me thinking about it! me too. I think my least favorite ep so far was the one about Jack because it seemed to reveal the least about him. Although there is a satisfying mystery surrounding all the major characters still. I like that. hmm...re-reading that...so totally contradictory sounding... What I mean is...I like the mystery surrounding them, but Jack's ep didn't give us much of a surprise about him.

Perhaps , but I think it might have some of it's own stellar episodes. I thought that Walkabout was masterfully done and the surprise ending ...well surprised me! I really don't think we can compare it to BtVS becausae it'sa different kind of story told in a very different way. The emphasis is not so much on the dialogue while still dramatically showing the character interactions. And frankly, tho' it's heresy I suppose, BtVS could get a little too talky sometimes. Vlad Heretic. Blasphemer! You member of the faithless mongrel hoard! Whew. OK. Now I feel better. But seriously - it really is a very, very subjective thing. And my subjective view is, so far, that I wouldn't rate the show quite as high as Jossverse shows, or as VM. But I do like it, and I think it is good quality. I wouldn't be watching, otherwise.

what mainstream stuff? Really wondering. I guess it's hard to put my finger on it. It's certainly not like I feel it is "amateurish" (as actually, some of BtVS season 1 feels like sometimes). If anything, it's just sometime a teeny bit too much the other way. Too ready made, not awkward enough. I can't really describe it. And it's only just a feeling I have, just for a moment here and there. Probably a very specific personal reaction. Lola And just to be on-topic-y again. Did anyone else other than me just really love the shots on the beach with the plane parts still standing so starkly in the sand and the bright sunshine shining off the ocean and the metal and all? I'm not sure why, but I just loved those. It was just so pretty - surreal and pretty.

well, true...but she also got hot kissage...which seemed for a moment there to help a lot with the empathy. *grin* Yeah. I could do with some of that kind of empathy assistance. ;D Lola

I thought the same thing... in fact, at first I thought it WAS his flashback and then only after a moment's consideration did I think it might be Semi-dead French Lady. I am hesitant to go back and really study the preview because I like not being spoiled and I am afraid I will "see" things that will let me extrapolate too much before I see the actual episode. Vlad

Re the speculation that the island fulfills wishes, both good and evil--Charlie really, really wanted that peanut butter. He didn't get it, though he charmingly conned the pregnant girl into pretending its existence. If the island fulfills wishes...why was there no peanut butter?
BTW--I dislike peanut butter. So less peanut butter is no offense in my book.

Found the original Sawyer? Hmmmm. That's an interesting thought. But I would more think that he went there looking and didn't find him. 'Cuz if he did find the guy, would he still have the letter and be reacting to things like he is or would he have felt more like stuff was resolved? Not sure. Hmmmm. Lola

I hadn't thought about that, but it does seem to put some doubt on the theory.

Well, we all know that last week's was my least favorite episode *L* While I didn't think White Rabbit was the best (I think Walkabout deserves that honor so far,) it was a good solid episode. I think they have to retain some mystery about some of htese characters so the show has someplace to go. Jack's big ...bad thing that his momma despises him for, Kate's crime, and now maybe Sawyer's motive for being in Australia. I am sure that he and Kate are not done discussing it. Maybe they will share their secrets with each other. Of course, once that happens EVERYONE will know... like the knowledge of the dead pilot, the French transmission and the "fugitive" on the island. That's my biggest gripe about hte show to date. Well, that and the assorted "Cliff Climbs". Vlad And thanks on the avatar *L* V.
