As all good researcher mom types do...i bet you'd even go as far to call my mommy and tell her I have been bad wouldnt you? *G* Vlad Couldn't sleep, back still hurting a bit. So, I watched the episode again - the last letter still on Charlie's index finger when they found him. I noted the gauze on the eyes of the patient in the backstory segments for Jack - they do that to prevent damage to the eyes if they should open during surgery. May or may not be a clue; but, they hover on her face several times. More stuff to mine: LAT - acronym from the medical profession = Lidocaine, Adrenaline and Tetracaine (topical anesthetic) LAT - Latin: To allow LAT - lat·i·tude ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lt-td, -tyd) n. 1. a. The angular distance north or south of the earth's equator, measured in degrees along a meridian, as on a map or globe. b. A region of the earth considered in relation to its distance from the equator: temperate latitudes. 2. Astronomy. The angular distance of a celestial body north or south of the ecliptic. 3. Freedom from normal restraints, limitations, or regulations. See Synonyms at room. 4. A range of values or conditions, especially the range of exposures over which a photographic film yields usable images. 5. Extent; breadth. Look at 3 - I found this entry of particular interest. I don't know if any of this is useful; but, I was on the hunt to explore what clues we have - hopefully to group think with a bit more clarity for those interested.

I knew he'd sign. Dad was a manipulative SOB. SO manipulative! OMG! I wanted to smack him soooooo bad when he's being all "I'm just doing it for you" "you're the best and I'm proud of you and I should have told you before this". Ewwwww! Jack's face is just sooo. . . . he wants to believe his dad so much. I think he signs even though he doesn't really believe him, but he wants to. Plus, he wants to delude himself too, believe that he believes him. Bad daddy! Lola 20 flippersmackin' pages!! Why, oh why, oh why-o?! Why did I ever leave Ohio? Why does all this fascinating conversation happen when I have no home computer!!

Whoa... I did not figure that that would go as well as it did. Sawyer's done some growing up. Damn. I'm quite impressed. Oho! And so that's why Walt has such issues with Michael... Yeah, I loved the scene with Sayid and Sawyer. They both really stepped up right there. Sawyer not taking his "chance" to put some hurt on Sayid - instead really starting to listen to what he had to say about the other people, etc. Sayid with appologizing and being straightforward with him and then just telling what was going on. Kudos to both men! Wow. Fairly adult, calm, rational behavior. What's next? ;D Lola Unlike Michael. I mean, I know that he is in a bad position here. He's stranded on this island, no one really knows what's happening, he's responsible for a kid for the first time (presumably) and trying to do it under the worst possible circumstances. But he's just not handling the Locke thing well. And continuing to try to be action man/adventure-hero guy, when he really should focusing on his son . . . just not making the best choices here. And yep - sounds like there was another, "better" in Walt's eyes, dad figure in the picture before. I wonder if just mom died and Michael took him away from the other guy that Walt thought of as dad? 'Cuz, if so, then I feel a bit more sympathetic to Walt and his surliness.

Well, nope, the other way 'round. He's a sentimentalist. One life is fine, but two is too many? oh crap is Charlie dead? Freaked me out to see Charlie hanging there. I thought they won't kill the character off . . . but then thought, how do I know what they are planning to do? It would be the ultimate "wow" story line to really kill him. So then I freaked. But I don't like the way they did Jack "bringing him back". Too much overly-dramatic chest pounding and not enough actual accurate technique. I kept sitting there going - you have to actually keep up the mouth to mouth, you know, can't just keep wacking him. And you don't declare the guy dead until you've done it for a lot longer than that!! And it could still have been very exciting and intense and dramatic and thematically linked to the woman who died in surgery and all, while still a bit more accurate. I'm probably alone on being picky about that, eh? Lola

*Insert rotflhao smiley here*. ;D Do ya think? And who are "they" and "it"? Boone - Are we Lost? Locke - Lost? No. Poor, poor Charlie. He says he doesn't remember, but knows that all they wanted was Claire. "They" and "it" are concerning me very much now. Someone should tell Boone that you aren't really completely "lost" if you don't know where you are going. Or did Locke know where they were going? Poor, poor Charlie indeed. And does he really not remember, or did they say the same kind of thing to him as to Jack? Keep following and we'll kill her - only he believes them ('cuz they tried to do it with him) and is keeping quiet to try and save her? Lola

Well, wasn't that sumptin'? Did anyone else have little flashbacks of Merry and Pip being captured by the orcs and tossing their elvish pins so they could be followed when they found Charlies first bandage? I thought it was a cute homage. Vlad Yes!!! (I'm so glad I'm not the only geeky one here!) Um. Not that I'm saying you're geeky, or anything. ;D Lola

So, whose trail are Locke and Boone following? Since it was a "they" that took them, Locke and Boone are following Claire and the rest of "them", perhaps? Lola I just know I'm saying stuff that everyone else has already said . . .

Ok, I'm waiting for the Cheshire cat to show up...I guess we've already had the mushrooms in Charlies story eh? I think Locke's the Cheshire Cat--remember that smile with the orange?

Being blindfolded keeps you helpless, reduces your ability to seize the moment and fight. EDIT: Which Spring covered in disturbing detail You never did show up for your appointment in my basement.

I'm not even convinced of "misguided". I tend to think we're being deliberately misled about Locke - and the one moment today that made me think that yet again was when he said that "someone else could take care of it...temporarily" - like he realized and valued the others' desire to get off the island and back to their lives. And, in the literal sense, he seems to be very well guided - found that manhole cover in the dark. Although the presence of the seemingly black rocks all around it gave me pause. I agree. And how about that moment when Kate told Shannon that Boone couldn't be any safer than to be with Locke. We are definitely being given reason not to trust Locke completely. He has an agenda. What it is, whether it is obviously good or bad or somewhere in between, I don't know. But he has an agenda, a hidden agenda, is my feeling.

Plus, why is Kate just standing there, wringing her hands, she could be doing the mouth to mouth while Jack does the chest compressions. It's better to have two people do CPR.

Mine is that it's the remnants of screwing around with wormhole weapons.. Course there is always the Richard Pryor approach.. Got 2% instead of whole milk, poured a glass, dipped a cookie and "the @#*! blew up". And there you have it.. My wild theory of the morning. The bunker's a fallout shelter leftover from Pacific Island nuclear weapons testing?
