And they think they should HIDE in the mysterious glowy bunker tattooed with the numbers of DOOM?! Yeah, that's not a recipe for disaster. Yeah - not really well thought out here. I think the writers were reaching a little. And I'm with Hurley - doesn't look like there's enough room to me.

Hey there, Syd! Welcome to posting on the S 3! I think there area lot of reasons that Hurley went along, but primarily because Hurley WANTED to come along. He was part of the insiders group that Jack showed the hatch to. He has ties to the French Lady from previous. And he has already shown that his size and weight aren't dehabilitating to their group travels. It was he that re-found Danielle and got hte battery from her, after all. He made it across that bridge... yeah, Hurley is fine with traveling and under most circumstances he keeps his head and is quite reasonable. Just don't let him see the blood. Vlad Oh, Vlad, but they are ALL gonna see the blood, so very very soon... And the zombies and the brain-sucking and the death and the...*gasps for breath, starts breathing into paper bag to calm down* Zombies! So is Boone a zombie too? I have zombies in my "Another One Bites the Dust" dance for my show next week. That's the thing about zombies - let one show up and the next thing you know they're everywhere, like roaches. Okay Matthew? Breathing? I still can't get a read on Danielle. Crazy - okay yes. But the Others stole my baby plotline still has me wandering what she isn't telling us.

<snip> I missed the very last minute when my VCR switched over to Alias. Anything happen after Vincent swam back to shore? What were the previews? The camera panned out with a glorious shot of the raft (This boat needs a name if any ever did!) sailing away. The screen faded to black... then lightened up with a sorta artsy negative/ black and white type shot that refocussed on the dark black smoke inland curling into the air. The spooky music thrummed at us with that final jarring "slam" note and the white LOST appeared on the dark background signifying that it was, indeed, over. As for the previews, I have been purposefully not watching them to remain as spoil -free as possible. The bits and pieces I saw as i averted my eyes and turned down the volume seemed to be of a lot of action. Vlad

Hi all! I'm new, so bear with me while I figure this out. So, why would you take Hurley on a long jungle hike? Did anyone find that strange being that he's just a little out of shape? I love the guy, but I would have left him on the beach to help with the raft. I'm assuming that everyone who came along was a volunteer, so he must have wanted to come. Plus, CFL Danielle is his woobie, so of course he's gonna go where she goes.

Zombies? And the clues are right there. - A ship called "The Black Rock."
- Little rocks get in oyster shells and the oysters slime them into.... pearls.
- "The Black Pearl" was another ship captained by none other than Captain Jack Sparrow.
- Cap'n Jack was played by none other than Johnny Depp.
- Johnny Depp also played hack film maker Edd Wood.
- Edd Wood's most infamous film is "Plan 9 from Outer Space" about aliens, zombies, and vamps, oh my!
- Danielle is played by Mira Furlan, also know for playing an alien.
Ergo, the Others are flesh-eating aliens who might suck a little blood, too. "Why's the rum gone?"

So what do we make of the title? Exodus? I don't know what WE make of it, but Proboards robot ad thing thinks we need Biblestudy.com. Julia, what I really need is my reading glasses The teeny tiny nested quotes are a bit . . . well, teeny. Aren't they?

Let's see: 1) Jin should have stayed with his wife, now that he has something worth staying for. I don't care if he thinks he can save her this way. He's gonna die, and I'm gonna be mad. 2) I don't have much else that's new. Loved the Jack/Sawyer moment, but who didn't, and I only had eyes for Jin.... Oh, man! Jin and Sun! Just too perfect. The look on his face when he's reading the phonetic English words.

And now we have Jackstory... Little does she know that she's gonna be an evil Zombie Warrior. okay....How did I miss those Evil Zombie Warriors? And, later on, someone else talked about Evil Zombie Demon Warriors..... Guys: What did I miss? I only left the room to grab a box of tissues, 'cause I knew this was gonna be a tear-jerker..... Exodus can mean a lot of things - emancipation from slavery, vast migration, fear, plagues. Even though we associate an exodus with leaving a place, it was preceeded by 10 plagues, including the death of the first-born male. I'm not too trusting that "Exodus" is a word that's value-free. There was all that wandering in the desert --- which reminds me: how much food/water did they pack on the raft? Or maybe the survivors on the island are the wanderers... And the fear folks who are part of an exodus must experience -- the loss of home and the fear, combined with anticipation and hope, of a new life in a new place.... The need to pack light -- no extra baggage of any kind -- so it's good to see the ridding of extra baggage that our characters did. Even Kate --- leaving behind her selfish priorities to go to the Black Rock to help, rather than to further her own agenda. Oh, not official evil zombie warriors. At least not yet . . . . We're just guessing what's gonna happen next. ;D

I love the guy, but I would have left him on the beach to help with the raft. First of all, welcome. Always nice to read fresh voices. It isn't specified, but I would guess Hurley is along because he has repeatedly proven himself as the most trustworthy castaway...most notably (in this case) in relation to French Chick, with whom he has an established rapport. She IS sort of leading the expedition, after all. Really wondering how in the world Hurley is going to explain the reaction when he sees those numbers on the hatch. There's no doubt in my mind he'll freak, and that's going to be very unsettling to the group. Whether he wanted the role or not, Hurley's become the emotional anchor of this bunch due to his utter lack of guile. There simply is no facade to delve into, except... The one thing Hurley has kept to himself up to this point. Methinks that's about to loom large. I'm really interested in the reaction of both Hurley and Danielle to the numbers. Hurley is not too keen on the idea of hiding in the hatch already, he sees those numbers . . . Dude!

I loved all your comments. Great, fun thread to read. Let's see - I really loved the way everything was being referenced. There were a lot of little threads picked up and tied neatly together. Loved all the little snippets from the Shannon/Sayid/Boond (Hi Boone!) adventure at the airport (bitchy, non-crying Shannon made an appearance) to the Geisha gal comments from the snooty Americans. I loved all the mixture of different people's flashbacks in particular. And we're getting a whole lot more at the airport. Getting close to telling us what happened on the doomed flight? Just teasing us? Next week has lots of possibilities! Well, it's all that clean island living. Chopping bamboo, pushing rafts, mooning over Jack, um Kate, um Jack and Kate. Does a body good. ;D I was very impressed by the acting each of them did in that scene. He's a redshirt alright. They were just toying with us by not having the security system snap him in two like a pretzel. I'm betting next week he bites the dust. I'm betting someone else already said. And right now ( morning) my brain is not remembering sequence too well, so I don't remember what happened before or after. Previews were lots of fast action run-hide-bloody ahhh! stuff. I think.
