Thanks for the link. It answered one of my longtime questions. Just exactly what colour are JM's eyes. The answer is blue but not as blue as some pics would lead us to believe. This pic, an obsenely closeup pic, seems unretouched. (I won't post it here 'cause it's just too big.) lavender.fortunecity.com/sidjames/259/Spike/spk157.jpgCheck it out. Watergal =^..^=

I am sorry I have been away. First off, yesterday my best friend from clear back in elementary school showed up on my doorstep from florida. He and his wife are just now seperated and he had jsut finished driving hte 18 hours being upset. So I spent hte night talking to him about "things." I set a tape up for Buffy as usual, but in the course of talking to him as I was doing it so we could leave to get food, I completely goofed and set the recorder from 7:58-8:02 *sighs* yes, 4 whole minutes... So, in other words, I missed Buffy. I am not reading the messages posted concerning anything Buffy related. Thus far I am spoiler free. A planitive cry is going out. Did anyone tape it and would they send me a copy? Pleeeeeassse? ? Pretty please. This is going to play hell with me doing my work on the webpage, because I dont want to watch the board til I see the ep. I caught a couple refences to things scanning down the posts and it sounds like it must have been a good episode. *jsut sighs and kicks himself once more.* Secondly, my internet provider was all wonky this morning and I couldn't get online. This is the first I have been able to all day. Life is sucking, Vlad

Thanks for the kind promo for my Chap IV. I really enjoy your knack of capturing the essence of the characters in dialogue. Since Anya told Spike that Xander was "A Viking in the Sack", I don't think he has anything to worry about. Luckily he didn't hear what Faith-in-Buffy said to Spike in the Bronze. If Faith's confused reaction to having sex with Riley, who thought she was Buffy and didn't want to play any rough games, is any indication she can really use the straight forward caring that Xander has to offer.

Watergal. I copied and pasted the link and got an empty page with a logo in one corner. No entry as far as I could see. The photo is back in previous posts if you were referring to the fact that I hadn't included it. Someone asked me for the link. Was that you? It's hard to keep up with this board on the day after Buffy.

Sorry Rusty, I was just refering to the fact that MY post didn't include a photo. (As per Alexandra's request that we note when we are including photos in our posts.) Sorry for the confusion. If you can't load that picture, I refered to, it is about in the middle of the page your previous post gave the link to. I was just trying to lead you to the specific picture I was refering to. I wasn't think so much of Spike being the Supreme Commander, but more like Buffy's Exec. The guy who actually makes sure everything happens to back up the boss.

The Xander from season 3 is long gone in terms of his sexual experience. That particular chapter was meant to be kind of fluffy and cute, and further establish his uniquely close relationship with Buffy. I decided in that in my universe they could talk imtimately about anything. I like Buffy best when she's warm and affectionate toward people, and I wanted to establish the intimacy between Xander and the 2 Slayers. It was also important for me to develop a unique bond between Xander and Spike. I've always thought they could be good friends under different circumstances. In other words I wanted to give them some peace and happiness....which is about to change dramatically. My little story is about to make a dark and disturbing turn to the east....MU-HA-HA-HA-HA!!! We can't have our favorites happy all the time. What fun would they be with no conflict?

Spring said: "deborah: I agree that soulless & soulful Spike are not as different as Angel & Angelus, but I still see “no remorse for thousands of horrible crimes” and “remorse for all of them” as a big difference." It took a while but I just got the distinction you're making here. Yes, I agree that the difference is significant in that a sense of guilt and remorse over his anonymous victims is necessary if he is to be truly redeemed. And it may well be that this final step, this final level of awareness may not have been possible without a soul although I'm not so sure, given his prior progress, that he couldn't have gotten there on his own in time. Also I believe that a case could be made for soulless Spike's attitude that guilt for his prior victims is pointless because the past is past, what's done is done and he can only do his best to do what's right in the present and future. The point I'm trying to make here is that before getting his soul restored he had already succeeded in becoming a moral being by virtue of his own efforts and desire to learn to be good man. The guilt that flooded his consciousness afterwards seems like an epiphany that finally registered in him the value of all human life, not just the lives of the people he knows and loves. A big step yes, but not I think one that marked a transformation from one person to another. I haven't been able to express myself very clearly here. I hope you get what I mean.

Rusty said: "Whatever Spike's transformation is it makes him seem more mature. ME should let him step up to the plate. He controlled a gang of minions, he has strategy and he was very commanding when he gave orders in season 2. It would also show his Watcher skills for a nice segue into a spin off." Just wanted to say I agree with you.

I was able to open the pic. It was, indeed, huge. And mesmerizing. Why does every line and bump on his face become fascinating?

Julie, I think the best episode to introduce Spike is probably Fool for Love. That has Spike's backstory and his present conflictedness--going off to "off" Buffy with a shotgun, then trying awkwardly to comfort her, instead. Or have I conflated two episodes? Anyway, it has the whole vampire dynamic as scene setting (better in that regard than Welcome to the Hellmouth) and just about every niceness one can name. I think it was already on your list, so if you want to be Spike-centric, Fool for Love and Something Blue and maybe Pangs are good bets.

I couldn't reach the blue-eyed picture discussed. All I got was a blank page and an error message.

Okay, here goes nothing. Go to the link Rusty gave: lavender.fortunecity.com/sidjames/259/Spike/spike4.htmlThe picture in question in the 28th if you count from left to right one line at a time (As you would count words in a paragraph.) If you can't open the 28th thumbnail, try the 29th. They are similar, but the in the 29th he isn't looking into the camera.
