Wasn't he the "we're taking your kid" guy? That's what I thought.

That makes no sense to me. What info does "on which side was the ocean closest?" give you? I'm just not following. Maybe he did mean, as Liz suggested, "the bay" instead of "the ocean?" Oh - please don't let that that bearded guy be another new character. My first thought was that it was Jack's father, but from what I could see, it doesn't seem to be. BIG island. you can see one part of the ocean from where they are inland, because they were not heading directly away from the water, towards the center of the land. At least that's my take on it...

Ooooh. Sawyers real name - or at least the name he booked the flight under. Locke always has a way of . . . just tossing information out there to see what the response will be. We knew the James before, but not the "Ford", I think. Jack's dad doesn't think Jack's can handle 'crossing the line'. ETA: What "right" does he have to tell Jack what he can or can't do? See, I think the Ford is so dull that it's either not his name ('cuz it's a good blank slate to pick) or else it really is his name ('cuz it's just so dull it has to be real). Oooh! I covered all my bases, didn't I? ;D Nice parallel on the "what right" thing there, eh? And it fits nicely with Locke's "don't tell me what I can't do" thing.

Well - you have to make some assumptions there, but it could work. I just don't like it, because it . . . it bugs me. Sayid! We haven't had nearly enough Sayid this season.

Uh, maybe you need to play the Geronimo Jackson, if you've never heard of it before: purloined letter.
Heh. Hurley sees the possible Libby chemistry...
"Everyone" is interesting.
And so here we go with the pirates parleying.
Uh, a desert Island is not your "house" asshat.
Huh. "LET you live on it"
"Don't believe you" hee!
Bearded guy's a chessman.
And he's got the better board position, looks like.
"No" So why is Jack NEEDing to cross the line?
And so that's where Kate got to. Was afraid it was something like that.
Oh christ, what a position. I hate bullys, terrorists SO much.
Damn.
No guarantees that he won't kill her anyways. And of course Locke would have a holdout (personally, I think he's got two).
Huh. Gives them back Kate.
"you allright?" while not looking at her.

Fun! They're gonna "talk"! Heeee! Charlie and Hurley bonding over records. ;D Hurley and Libby, sittin' in a tree . . . "This music is quite depressing." Walt the "very special boy" is just fine, huh. Ah! These Other guys have been stranded here longer and think of the island as their home and they're just "defending" it. Hey! Maybe they are the abandoned scientists from the other bunker. Or just earlier castaways. And they're drawing a line in the sand. Wow! Jack steps up!! And, he's wrong. Or is he? Lots of torches, but . . . is someone holding each one? Oh crap - he/they have Kate. Well, you know they have to give in if he's gonna shoot someone right there. I don't think these are the same "Others" that were over by the Tailies. I think these are another group. I think the island is divided up into territories, each with its own society. Kate is really shook up. Well, a threatened death will do that to you. Or did something else happen? Did the guy say something to her?

Wasn't he, the "we're taking your kid" guy? Yep. He reminds me of Jack's dad. Talking about not crossing a line, etc. Plus - he's a bastard.

No, we knew the "Ford" part when he was being evicted from Australia...
