Don't even try to tell me "you taste like strawberries" wasn't a Buffy reference... Okay, I won't: mostly because I was distracted by the breakfast menu in last week's episode.

Hee! ;D I thought of you while watching that. I know it's silly, especially given that Jack's a fictional character, but whenever he mentioned the Sox I felt bad that he might never know they won it all. Yes, I am a total dork... Nope, not a dork. The BoSox winning was a huge deal, and just because you're fictional doesn't mean you wouldn't be sad that you missed it. Besides, that was a good way to get some sympathy from the audience for the character of Jack--it was a moment to which a lot of people could relate.

<snipped> SERIOUSLY, though, how did Benry know that the bosox win would be the thing to undo jack? Has he been talking with Jack's dead daddy? Hmm, interesting idea. However, we also know they had video cameras at the Swan, at least inside the hatch--it's not unreasonable to think they might have some outdoor cameras just as they do at the Hydra. And we know Jack once had a conversation about the "when the Sox win the series" thing with Sawyer. So they could have overheard it. Or, given how thick that dossier is, they might have found out some other way that he's a Sox fan; maybe he wore a Boston hat one day when they were taking surveillance photos, or had season passes to Fenway for a time. And now that I've done all that speculating, I'm sure you'll end up being correct. Oui: they could have microphones in the trees everywhere, and overheard his conversation with Sawyer when Sawyer gave him the gift of telling him about his father: wouldn't surprise me a bit.

But they were surprised about the boat, suggesting that they don't know about Desmond at all. if they had camera's in the trees, or access to the video cameras in The Swan, then they would have known. There might be a particular reason, but it could just be making note of one of the major events between September and November 04, that just happened to have personal significance to Jack.

"Shamed our family" has a limited number of interpretations in many cultures. **nods** Jin knows, but can (perhaps) successfully tell himself he doesn't really know?

The Others always go for what they think is the weakest link. Always with the mind-messing, them.

He called me "son" for the first time. I do this for you, Sun! Except it's not what she wants. Sort of Great Gatsby-like. And Jin catches on too. Because he's knows more English than he lets on. Just not comfortable speaking it. Yep. He knows Sun betrayed him. Way back when or more recently? Yeah, I would keep one person actually on the boat at all times, but that's just me. If I liked Sawyer, that would probably be hot. Kissing her to provide a distraction? Too bad it didn't work. Did they come out of the water? There's an entrance to Hydra underneath the dock? That's ok. I enjoyed it for the both of us. I think you're right about the tunnels under the dock. What I want to know is why they need to break up rocks. I enjoyed it a bit too. I really want to know about the rocks. I mean, it could be all just pure showmanship - meaningless make-work. Part of the experiments they are running on the two of them. Which is probably the answer. But . . . it could be something els. Electromagnetic or other "special" rock? That they're making into something else?

Comparing angry daddy scenes with... Jack's dad? Eh? "Emergency convo?" When that woman came up to the group hauling Kate and Sawyer off to the rocks and Sawyer tried to eavesdrop. Oh, and actually I was thinking of comparing the daddy angry at little Sun who brok the glass to daddy angry at big Sun who had an affair. But it works to compare to other daddy issues, like Jack's, too.

Sun, however, I knew was capable. Yeah, either they are not as good at predicting people's behavior as they think, or the island stuff has changed her way lots. Or, you know, the trigger was slippy.

Watch out for the dharma shark!! All they really wanted was just the boat? #rofl1# They wanted the boat mostly, I think, but I'll bet they wanted the people as well, if they could have got them. Or maybe not.

Watch out for the dharma shark!! All they really wanted was just the boat? Well, without the boat, Sayid, Jin, and Sun will be pretty easy to capture methinks. And also, they won't be able to do that systematic survey of the island I've been pushing. Dude! They should sooooo listen to you! ;D

The Others want Sawyer and Kate to move closer together for some reason. Maybe they want pretty Sate/Kawyer babies.

He must have felt great shame. Is Sawyer getting the sickness? And Ah, he wanted to test the guards to gather intel. Clever, clever, Sawyer. You taste like Strawberries. Ew? Unless he means like she had jam at that breakfast. Yeah, of course he's being monitored. I mean, duh! I was talking back to the TV, saying stuff like "don't you think maybe they're listening to you and you shouldn't spill your plan like that". Unless it's some kind of plan to make them think they know their plan. Nah. Sawyer's not that bright. Sing it, sister! They sure want Jack to wonder why they don't leave. Always with the Mr. Mysterioso "I'm so cool and clever" - that's Benry in s nutshell. Even with his own people, I think. Hmmmmmm. I still think they're working to some master plan, but it could very well include the belief that they can somehow turn Jack to their side. Turn him against Kate and Sawyer and so on. Which would only prove that they're crazy.

Of all the things they picked to show Jack, I cannot tell you how happy I am that they showed him Boston winning the World Series. ;D I knew you were gonna love that! Perfect choice as their "ha, now I know you're making this up" thing. ;D And actually, that reference of Jack's seemed to confuse Benry. Living on that island all his life means, I think, that while he may seem to be all in touch with the Real World, he's missing some . . . emotional connection or the "feel" of the Real Real World.
