Whoa. Claire and baby in a helicopter?! Not you, Charlie. Also? The kind of luck they've been having with helicopters? I wouldn't be perfectly convinced rescue is going to work. Good point.

Benry handing the gun back to Alex.
Ordering an immediate attack, knowing that Locke may have compromised them.
Karl has been hiding close to his girlfriend! how sweet!
I'd rather not have Benry for a father. Good job, Alex. Kiss him before you send him off to possible death. And we're back to the opener!
"They know, Karl. But thanks!"
Charlie's allowed to do it. That's his theme, his tranformational theme from the Moth.
Aw! how sweet!!
"only drug-free rockstar in the world"
"Father Christmas lives in Helsinki?"
Oooh! I think I heart Liam.
He still has it!!
Giving it to her for safekeeping?
Gonna slip it in with Aaron, maybe. Oh.... Charlie, you are a mess, but you've come a long way.
And we get the kiss... Charlie just broke my heart.

Even earlier Charlie flashback "Just jump in, I'll catch you". He is remembering and listing his favorite moments. Plus, that is probably a theme for this ep - just jump. Des saw him flipping a switch and drowning. And the jamming device is underwater and needs to have a switch flipped. Well, that's about as straightforward a line, plotwise, as we've ever gotten. Therefore, I am suspicious. ;D Sayid was going to go, even if he died. But Charlie volunteers 'cuz he can hold his breath. Well, and 'cuz he can die. Jack thinks now in not the time - first take care of the Others and then do it. But really, doing it when the Others are diverted by their attack and your counter attack, well that might be a good strategy. Flanking maneuver, as it were. Rose!!! Bernard!!! Yays!!! I thought we'd never see you again! And she's still keeping him on his toes. ;D (It was also nice earlier to see a large group gathered by Jack to see the exploding tree.) Jin wants to know why they were talking about Sun. She only tells him part of it. There's Karl! Warning them . . . ah - different warning. They're coming tonight - they're coming now.

Busking.. isn't this where Desmond ran into him?
Huh. Stopped a mugging. She's right. Kitty Geneovese's death proved that: too few a heros in this world.
"Nothing's gonna happen to me, Rose" Bernard's gonna die.
"I like you better since you got back, Jack. You're almost an optimist"
Sayid pulls the "you're being Captain Kirk: be Captain Picard, dammit" line on him. Dammit, he's right.
"I'm sick of trekking. and you know. Explosions"
Poor Hugo... Tell him, Charlie. Tell him it's a suicide mission Dammit, dont pull the weight card.
Oh, he's gotta sa goodbye, as Hugo is one of his best friends. I'm glad he's telling them he loves them.

Oh! He DID leave the ring behind for Aaron!!!
that line's gotta be a fiberoptic cable. othersie he'd not be able to pick it up.
And now we get to see the best night of Charlie's life.
Huh. it's post-crash.
It's seeing and fallling in love with Claire.
"I can always spot the newbies" ;D
Oh, it's a dead-letter to Claire. oh, god, I'm gonna lose it.
Both of them being noble, fate-bound idiots.
well, hell, ONE of you dive in.
Why do they ALWAYS beat them with oars to temporarily knock them out? Well, it's effective.
"You aren't supposed to take my place, Brother." and he truly is a brother to him.
Okay, I'm losing it.
Moon pool.
Laughing in triumph..
Well, you live until you get to the switch.
And Dammit, I figured it might be manned. DAMMIT!!
When I saw the lights all on...

The lead blond with the gun was Tracy Middendorf: the woman Angel didn't save in the first episode of Angel. Wonder if she and Josh Holloway reminisced...

Alex carving up a dead bunny (dead rabbit - somebody's pregnant ;D). Wonder if it's her daddy's bunny? Benry is the one who changed the plan - said to go now. Because "Jacob" told him to. (Yeah, right.) Benry also says John "had an accident". Take all the women and kill any men who try to interfere? Sabine delusions, much? The rest of the Others don't seem all that thrilled with the plan, but they'll do it. Ah. Alex told Karl and told him to tell the Plane People. And passes on the bloody gun. That's one busy gun. "Is he my father?" Ooooooh, Alex is figuring a lot of things out. Nice leading, Jack! Use Sayid's good idea, use Rousseau's gun but keep her uninvolved (not her battle to fight, keep her safer), do both plans (because, yes it is best to do it while you can and while the Others are occupied) and get the majority of your people to safety. And create your plan on the spur of the moment when you have to change to meet their changing threat. Excellent! Charlie with 2 girls in Helsinki? Well, that would make many guys' top ten list . . . Oh, the moment his brother gives him the ring. Which symbolizes him being the one to continue the family, being the one deserving of the family heirloom. And not at all because he's used to dealing with rings. Because this is not the one ring to rule them all! Awwww. That . . . was actually rather moving. Claire and him talking fairly straightforwardly about the plan, being worried about each other, caring what happens. Taking the baby and the sweet "baby touching his face" moment, saying "I love you" to the baby. The kiss. Really rather amazingly well done.

Benry handing the gun back to Alex. Ordering an immediate attack, knowing that Locke may have compromised them. **nods** I think there is likely an element of anger and wanting to hurt them, too. And she's been sneaking him food. Awww. ;D Loved her delivery of that line. Me too. Nicely played moment of genuine feeling for his brother and uncharacteristic honesty about himself. **nods**

Great Episode! I can't wait till next week
Rose and Benard!!!!! Benard never say "nothing is going to happen to me." Kiss of death, Brother.
You know Desmond will be following charlie down there after he wakes up.
I really hope they show John next episode. I don't want to wait 7 months to find out if he is really dead. I did notice his name still in the credits. Until that is gone I am holding out hope.

Now we see the real moment with Charlie playing in the rain - the one that Des stumbled into in his flashback/flashforward/hallucination thingee. Three people kept walking by, even though they saw her being mugged. "You are a hero, sir." Another good moment and a natural one he'd think of, since he's about to do it again. "How long can you really hold your breath for?" "Does it matter?" And actually, yeah. 'Cuz you gotta live long enough to flip the switch. Bernard is a crack shot. Who knew? Rose wants to stay . . . "I like you better since you got back. You're almost an optimist." And then she takes Bernard off to find dark clothes to shoot Others in. I love Rose. Sayid, once again, brings the rational and sensible and "snap out of it" moment. What is more important, Jack? Getting revenge or really leading these people? "I'm sick of trekking and explosions. And I'm a really good paddler." ;D Hurley wants to help, too. And Charlie lies to him about why he can't come. Awww, hug. Charlie is saying good bye to everyone he cares about.

I just hope they don't kill Sayid in the finale. I don't think they'll kill Charlie - maybe Desmond, or (sob!) Rose-or-Bernard. But maybe they'll kill Rousseau just as she's about to reunite with her daughter; that would be nasty.
I think that Locke will be healed, and either kill or otherwise oust Ben as the leader of the Others - and take his place. Yes, I see Locke becoming the leader of the Others for the rest of the series, in conflict with Jack - Faith versus Reason.
Good episode tonight!
