Well, I'm all with the Logan love tonight; first on Gilmore Girls, and now on VM. How fucked up is Logan's dad? No wonder he's screwed up. LOVED how he screwed over his father in his own oeuvre, right in front of the cameras. Smart, he is. Did anyone else, and maybe I misheard, but it almost sounded like Wanda was hitting on Veronica a little bit. But maybe she was talking about Weevil? I think I didn't hear correctly. Ooooo K! Something weird when I tried to answer this before... I missed any hitting on by Wanda. Are you talking about in the bedroom? In that case Wanda was asking V if there was anything between her and Weevil. V denied it. Wanda made some comment about thinking V had Lily's "bad boy thing". She indicated she had heard rumors about Lily and Weevil and V scoffed at that idea.

"Pirate Points"? What a bitca. So what is Wanda supposed to be, a Goth? You know, I didn't even quite grasp how stupid the Pirate Points were until Duncan did his speech at the end and I was like, you mean band and honor roll and school play and stuff weren't earning points before?! I mean, it was bad enough when I just thought that the kids not getting points were the ones who didn't do any extracurricular stuff at all, were basically just students. But then to finally grasp (I guess I'm not that bright, huh?) the total system of selecting specific types of activities for points. Woah. That is totally messed up. Not as messed up as Logan's dad - but still! I was gonna guess more of what in my day were called burn-outs or stoners (gosh, that sounds so old fashioned) - basically the sorta druggie kids; I mean not the total addicts, but the fringers. (Ah, sweet memories of high school and the various clicques. What fun. ) Lola

Lots of stuff happening in this one tonight. Do not like the homeless boxing. What is the deal with these kids? Wanda is feisty. I loved it when she stomped on those pizzas. The homeless boxing had me back to really cranky with Logan. Of course then we met dad and I started putting the whole picture together. Really really didn't like Logan's body language every time dad was around. No surprise to me when the belt came out. Bad daddy! Lola

Duncan SO didn't want to run....and even MORE didn't want to win. Feel a little bad for the guy. Pirate Points? Grrrr. Not everyone can win a place in SC, and not everyone is good at sports. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that one could buy Pirate Points through parental donation, too. Yeah - Duncan was not happy at all about the whole thing. Even at the end, when he was all "what candy bars should we sell", you can tell he still kinda hates the whole thing. Lola

Yes! Wanda asked about Weevil!! "Might have shared your friend Lily's bad boy thing." I knew Lily and Weevil had something going. How long before that off-hand comment gets to V. and she *has* to investigate it further? ETA: Not that we know this for sure but he did cry at Lily's memorial and he was fairly understanding when his cousin betrayed him for Paris H. Now, we hear that there have been rumors connecting Weevil and Lily. Things are starting (ha) to get complicated. **nods a lot** Yep! The Weevil connection is there is some way! But what the connection was is still up in the air. 'Cuz high school rumor will always try to make it a sex/romance thing. I mean look how Wanda was already trying to see if that's how Veronica and Weevil were connected. Lola

Yeah - Duncan was not happy at all about the whole thing. Even at the end, when he was all "what candy bars should we sell", you can tell he still kinda hates the whole thing. Lola How about "Donut's" dad smiling at him at hte end. And the speech in the car. He sounds like a man that is concerned and loves his son. His speech about accepting Dunc's choice to live in a hut doing art... with a degree from wherever... it was so very fatherly. WE saw three fathers tonight: Dunc's, Veronica's and Logan's. Each of htem very different , each of them trying to raise their children. Two doing it in acceptable, if nto perfect, ways and one that is way off the map. The result, two of the kid's apparently decent people, and one that looks like he could be, but seems to jsut miss. Be an interesting essay point once we see a bit more of this series. Vlad

Go, Duncan!!!! Good for you!!!! That'll teach them to make you their special interest goat!!!! Oh, yeah! I'm liking Duncan a lot in this ep! But Veronica was also sooooo right when she said that he doesn't do bad stuff, he just sometimes . . . stands by. Not always - I liked her flashback to the thing where he tells the kid he doesn't have to leave the table. But I think he does just let stuff happen sometimes. It's part of that whole "disengaged" thing. Lola

I kinda love Duncan. I knew Veronica was going to vote for him. Logan is so messed up, but I see why now. Yep. His daddy has sure messed with his mind. And now I understand why he has some of the mannerisms he does. Why he seems to be really just . . . observe people a lot. Especially people doing anything good or kind (like Duncan and the lunch table kid). Like he's trying to figure out what they're doing, or what the catch is. Guess he's used to the public face with the hidden reality, huh? Lola
