VM Season 3 Premiere B.Y.O.N. Viewing Parties B.Y.O.N. – Bring Your Own Newbie! Veronica Mars fans across the country unite for a Season 3 Premiere Party on October 3rd! Organizers hope the nation-wide effort will draw new viewers to the show, and offer longtime viewers an opportunity to celebrate the new season with other local fans. Confirmed locations: Austin, Tx Denver, CO Houston, Tx Los Angeles, CA Madison, WI New Orleans, LA New York City, NY Portland, OR Possible locations: Bismark, ND Charlotte, NC Fort Wayne, IN Ottawa, ON Tampa, FL Toronto, ON Don't live in one of the cities mentioned above? It's not too late to host your own premiere! Instead of standing idly by and saying, "I wish there was a viewing party in my town," take charge and say, "I will host a viewing party in my town." You just need a venue large enough to accommodate your guests and a large-screen tv or a high-quality video projector that can project a broadcast feed. Add some refreshments (snickerdoodles, anyone?) and you’ve got a premiere! Premieres can be held in movie theaters, bars, coffee shops, college campuses and private residences. Some of the parties are incorporating VM games and prizes to add to the fun. For more information about a specific premiere in your area or hosting a VM party, go to Viewing Parties section at WatchVeronicaMars.net. Hope to see you there!

If you like commentaries, you should check out the latest VM podcast: veronicamars.podomatic.com/entry/2006-10-14T12_40_46-07_00For all those who were hoping Rob would add more commentaries like the one he did on the pilot to his site, it looks like they've heard your pleas. This podcast features Diane Ruggiero (writer) and Dan Gabbe (editor) talking about episode 3x02, "My Big Fat Greek Rush Week." And, for the sounds of it, looks like they plan to do this for each episode from here on out. So, if you go listen, be sure to leave a comment and let the folks doing this know you appreciate them making the effort and taking the time to do the commentaries! Also, for iTunes and iPod users, you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.

And, while I'm here, Veronica also has a MySpace account these days. Even if you're against MySpace, you should check it out. They use the blog feature to post new videos and behind the scenes stuff. Plus, they have accounts for other characters as well and it's sometimes amusing to read the details for each person. www.myspace.com/veronicamarscwNote: You can also keep up with the blog area via LJ by adding the syndication account to your list of friends -

wasn't sure where this should go: from tvguide.com news community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=700009575"CW Picks Up a Pair for Full Season A fresh press release ("fresh release"?) from the CW network.... "The CW Network has picked up the back nine episodes of freshman comedy The Game and returning drama 7th Heaven, giving each series a full season order, it was announced today by Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment." Since many of you are about to ask: No, no word yet on Veronica Mars, which this week drew about 200,000 more viewers than the Camdens, against what I would say is more formidable compeition (The Unit, Law & Order: CI, Dancing with the Stars). However, I did just get off the horn with Tina Majorino (Mac), who is filming Episode 9 right now and said the ratings thus far are encouraging: "We're thinking we're going to be OK, but we're crossing our fingers." [bolding is mine]

Those who read my LJ already know this but I figured I'd come share the link for those who don't. I'm doing newscast style VM recaps each week. You can see them on my podcast page at tvwhore.podomatic.com/. OR, you can also view them on the VM VEOH channel at www.veoh.com/channel/veronicamars. (Each new episode gets listed in the Lastest Episodes scroll at the bottom as it's added each week. There are two this week because I was catching up on 3x02.)

So I'm taking my own advice and putting together data about the rapes, at least that which comes by me easily. This was thoughtfully provided to me by the twop recap.
#1 Dawn (Hawaiian Girl) #2 Stacey (Alia Shawkat) #3 Black girl who seems to be leading the feminist protests #4 Parker
#5 Claire
Pi Sig's and Chip seemed to be correlated with the rapes. That's all I got for the moment, but I'll keep updating

I have a question. Personally I don't think the answer would be considered spoilery, but if anybody thinks so they can IM me instead of posting here.
So, how many eps of VM have officially been ordered? I think I know, but am not sure.
Does anybody know how long this first arc is going to be (again, I thought maybe I knew, but....)
Because if I subtract the number of rape-arc eps from the number of ordered eps I get a fairly small number which wouldn't work well at all to complete another arc.
Also, personally, I'm beginning to thing maybe just 2 arcs per season would be good. Squeezing in 3 means one or two arcs of only 6-7 eps and that's really not long enough to explore more than one or two obvious options.
Or, that's my thought.
Joss did that well. Season two had a front half and then Angelus during the back half. Season three introduced Faith and Angel back from Hell and built the Mayor thing really slowly.
Season Four had the Initiative/collge stuff and we didn't really learn of Adam until half way thru.
Season Five had the intro of Dawn and Spike's crush. Glory was introduced fairly early on, but only became prominent later. (Of course, it's easier when you KNOW the big bad rather than are trying to point to the bad guy but without getting too obvious.)
Season Six had the Nerds; but then Dark Willow at the end.
Season Seven........well, it had it's high points but well planned out coherent storytelling overseen by Joss wasn't really one of them.

Interesting, Liz. And interesting point about the older males being conspicious at frat parties and such. Prof Landry is something of a "cool guy," and might be able to pull off "stopping in" at such events. I remember two "cool-guy" type professors at OSU that would stop in on a student parties. Not that I'm any closer to pinpointing a suspect.
